won't blow up my house! I'm making this along with this and a side of this. The sauteeing part went fine...then I had to put the pressure cooker on and I'm a little nervous. Crossing my fingers not only doesn't my house go "boom", but that we have a delicious dinner as well!

That sounds good! I tried mine out for the first time this morning too. With temps in the mid 90's and a heat index over a hundred degrees we've been in the mood for tuna salad. I was a little nervous about cooking plain pasta in it with no other sauce, but after doing a search and using tips elaine posted a while back it turned out perfect! Much quicker and much cooler than boiling a big pot of water on the stove.

Well, house is in one piece and the beef looks, smells, and tastes yummy! Did the corn on the stove for time's sake. The corn salsa is in the fridge chilling. Have the cilantro lime rice in now...hoping it comes out well. Then, I'm taking the boys to lunch.

No, and there isn't much online about cooking pasta in it plain either. Lots of recipes with pasta in some kind of sauce. But I found this post from Elaine on one of the other IP threads and it worked perfectly. I didn't know how much pasta is in one of those Suddenly Salads, but we'd just bought some packs of pasta from Costco. I used what I thought was about a pound, put in enough water to cover plus a tablespoon of oil, just like she noted. Turned it on, set it for five minutes and when it beeped the pasta was perfectly cooked. I want to say the whole thing took maybe 15 minutes? On my electric stovetop, it would have taken 20 minutes just to get the pot of water boiling, so I'm calling it a win.

thank you! I'll have to try it. It makes my kitchen so hot to boil pasta. I was about to get the fasta pasta thing for the microwave but this would be better.

elaine or anyone else...I screwed up the cilantro rice. Any advice before I give in an remake it on the stove? THIS is the recipe and I just followed it and dumped everything in the insta pot. It had too much liquid the first round and the it got mushy when I did a second round to get the water out. I know that it was overcooked because I did 2 cycles, but I don't know how to adjust the water so that I can get it to work. Any advice?
