What model do you have? If you came from owning a front loader, are you happy with the capacity?
Our front loader is probably not going to last much longer. Dh is very interested in Speed Queens just on the Pea recommendations lol but I'm concerned about capacity. I really like being able to easily wash our king sized quilts etc and we have 4 growing children - so you can imagine the laundry. We are looking at HE top loaders also.

I have the AWN52 model and I LOVE it. I had a front loader before and I loathed that thing with a passion.
As for the capacity, I am completely happy with the size loads I can do. I can easily fit my queen sized comforter with room to spare and I often wash loads of t-shirts that number 30+.

ETA: It's also quick - soooo much quicker than my front loader. A wash cycle takes about 20 minutes. I can do a large load, from wash to dried, in under an hour.

It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes just to wash the damn clothes in my front loader. I hate it with a passion!

I have the AWN542. At the time I purchased, there were 3 models and the ONLY difference was the number of settings/speeds. I went with the "top" option because it wasn't too much more expensive and I figured if I own it 20 years, I can't predict all the different ways I might want to use the speeds. I don't regret that.
Looking at their website now, it looks like they have changed the models. It sounds like there are 2 with electronic controls and only 1 with mechanical controls. The mechanical controls were a big deal to me, both because they seem less likely to fail and because if they do fail, they are less expensive to repair.
It looks like SQ has a 5 year warranty on the electronics, which is really good. They know mechanical controls were a selling point for their customers, because they make a big deal out of saying these electronic controls are built to last 25 years and not like other brands. I still don't love the idea of electronic controls.
They have the AWN 432 on their website for the one with mechanical controls. I can't see a close up of the dials, but it looks similar to mine - maybe a couple less cycle settings, but not much? I wouldn't hesitate to buy the 432 especially if you want mechanical controls. When SQ is phasing them out, you know they are really going away... might as well get your last set of mechanical controls to last the next 20 years, and then you can see in two decades if the SQ electronics really lasted the test of time for other people!

Oh, on capacity - I was concerned about that too, because the numbers they use seem so much less than on a front or top loader with no agitator. The SQ does easily fit a queen comforter, and I think it would fit a King if it isn't SUPER fluffy. I've been able to fit as much in it as I ever did with my mom's front loader or top loader with no agitator. On the top loaders with no agitators, you still need to leave a space in the middle and you aren't supposed to wash things with rubber backing (bath mats, some mattress protectors, etc) in many models. After owning the SQ for 2.5 years, my sense is that the capacity numbers are somewhat deceptive on front/no-agitator top loaders. I don't know how they are calculated, but just because there is empty space in the wash bin doesn't mean you can fully load it to the top/over the middle.

I have the AWN 432. I have never had a front loader, but it has always had enough capacity for my needs
