Watching my boys explore an air museum without us constantly hovering. We went to this place (Air Zoo in Kalamazoo for those in that area) 6 years ago and they've done some remodeling and moving things around since then so it was kinda neat to see what has changed and what hasn't. Plus they could go check out what they were interested in without having to wait for us or be accompanied by us. I did get a picture of one of them sitting in the same cockpit they did 6 years ago. The difference in the pictures is pretty amazing. (9 vs 15). It made me smile, knowing that I trust them enough to behave in public.

I hate change also. It gives me terrible anxiety.
I haven't been here much lately. Why do you have to move? We don't have to but we got a house that we plan on fixing up and selling next year then using that for a down payment on our forever home. I just hate moving and this all kind of fell into our laps suddenly so I haven't had time to process it. However I have a small yard now so I can drink my margaritas on the porch LOL! Yay for margaritas and porches. Moving sucks more than almost anything I know.

I sat in the 9th row for the matinee performance of Phantom of the Opera at the Kennedy Center today. It is my favorite show and was wonderful!

Honestly this site. DH and I have been so busy moving and I've been real emotional lately because I don't deal with change well and I'm just so physically tired. We spent the first night in the house and I was really feeling down about it all and I wanted something familiar so I logged on here last night and it was just wanted I needed. Same ole' Peas and that made me smile. Did you have to move far? It's never fun, even if it's just next door.

Mine was: Went for a motorcycle ride with DH, and DD and her boyfriend, and we all went to a cave and then to dinner and I caught a bunch of new pokemon on the ride. I'm totally lame for that but I GOT A HYPNO TODAY and DD was so jealous. The menfolk are really super accommodating with this ridiculousness, even taking us out of the way to various pokestops. Hee!

It's just hot and out apt is up 50 stairs (not kidding) so going up and down the stairs are hell. Seriously you would think I have a ass of steel now but I don't lol

I decided to lay down on the area rug in my living room. Both my dogs laid down next to me and we all took a nap together.

My DH and I were at the beach this weekend which makes me smile anyway, but my adult nephew and his partner came down and spent the weekend with us. I love them both so much and it was so fun to have them in our home and visit with them for an extended period of time. Our visits are usually short and this was perfect.

Sitting here surrounded by my previously homeless cats reading that 33 other animals have found their (hopefully) forever home makes me smile! (Can't quote on my tablet, sorry). Other than that seeing the new Ghostbusters movie. I laughed out loud several times. It was great and I'm actually going to go see it again!

I love all your reasons for smiling - terrific thread . It is a friend's birthday and we have literally seen each other for 5 minutes all summer. I texted to wish her happy birthday and discovered she wasn't where she expected to be today. She had a two hour window and I was able to shift a couple of things to take her for a pedicure.

We are on vacation at the Christian retreat center we came to last year. I get to spend the week with my bff who has been here all summer. I brought her a gift and card and knew it was perfect. And she agreed both were perfect too!
Incidentally, ds17 is home alone and prepared to love having the house to himself. Sil is prepared to put him to work around the yard.

Watching 3 of my grandsons in a musical tonight at church. They called and asked me to come at the beginning of the week and of course, I'm going to do my best so we drove 3 hours to see them and I'm so glad we did. They all had special parts. The oldest was in a group that illustrated 4 parables and he has a gift for acting. He did a fantastic job with a big smile on his face and it was so obvious he was loving it. He was a pirate in one of them so I can use my pirate stuff that came in my OA warehouse box last week!

One of my favorite things is when my husband and I get in the car and just go somewhere, no plan, just driving, looking for places we haven't been before or roads we've never taken. Could be in the town and surrounding towns where we live, could be an hour away. We did that Saturday and it was just a nice time.

Congrats!!!
Friday DD, my sister and I went to see The Drowsy Chaperone! It was hysterical. It is a show within a show, and the Man in the Chair was absolutely perfect.
Saturday my DD and I drove from St. Louis to Memphis and visited The National Civil Rights Museum. It made me cry but I am glad I got to experience it with my daughter. Sunday we drove from Memphis back home. I smiled because I made it.
I drove about 3,000 miles in 10 days. Whew!

A couple of months ago we started feeding some stray cats that have been hanging out in the woods behind my house. The cats aren't the only ones eating the food - we have a couple of raccoons that come every evening to eat. Tonight 2 baby raccoons came out of the woods! They were so cute - running around like crazy and chasing the cats! The mama raccoon hissed at them and they ran back into the woods. My husband said the mama was embarrassed at their behavior. LOL! This is Rocky!

We run a small motel in 'cottage country' and in the summer, a lot of our guests are visiting at cottages in the area that don't have room for all their company to sleep over. This past weekend, one of our new customers told me when checking out "That is the nicest motel room I've ever stayed in! I think I'll skip the cottage from now on and just stay here." That sure put a smile on my face. It's so great to get positive feedback from people, and know that our hard work is appreciated.

We saved a hummingbird that had flown into the garage and couldn't get out. By the time we found him he was on the ground and exhausted. We mixed up some agave nectar and water and spoon fed it to him, by easing his beak open. Pretty soon his little tongue darted out and started drinking the nectar. We took him outside and gently set him on a green plant in the garden. We kept feeding him for a good 15 minutes, and then all of a sudden he spread his wings and flew up into a tree!
