Ya...no surprise there, actually. LOVED the spin on Good Morning America this morning, as they were showing Trump LEADING Clinton by 3% and saying they're tied. That's some interesting math there, George. if you take into consideration the margin of error of +/- 3% points, they are essentially tied right?

Don't I know it. Ugh. There would be a huge backlash from the Hillary voters if something happened. It wouldn't be pretty. They are louder, but we turn out to vote. Bring it on. My dream would be for Sanders to disavow Clinton and the Democrats and to announce that he is leaving the Democrats and take Jill Stein up on her invitation for him to be the candidate for the Green Party. SANDERS/STEIN 2016!!! (<----it even freaking rhymes!) (I can dream pretty big) I admit I've done no research of my own on this, so tell me ... I've heard Jill Stein (although a physician) is anti-vax, which is disqualifying right there in my book, and also would like to invite Edward Snowden back to the country to serve in her cabinet, almost as disqualifying in my view. Any truth?

It's all academic anyway. He isn't about to make a fool out of himself.

And on Snowden, again in her own words from the same AMA at Reddit: I don't really disagree with her on that.

I have too. I think that there might be a small percentage 'spite' vote. I was just reading a thread like that on FB. While I was having lunch, I saw a videoclip on Facebook of a breakfast meeting where Debbie Wasserman Schultz was speaking to the Florida delegation and she was boo'd and some in the crowd were saying 'shame'. I think there is going to be a backlash. I also heard it being reported that Sanders speech for tonight has not been vetted. Anything can happen. I live in the Philly burbs and the Bernie supporters were out in full force with 100 degree temperatures and humidity. They are not giving up and not happy.I don't think Bernie has given up either. Anything can happen, indeed. I think a lot of people will be surprised.

Nate Silver has been very accurate in the past, but about a year ago he gave Trump only a 5% chance of winning the nomination. After the primary season he gave him a 5% chance of winning the general. Now he says it's a tie? Time will tell.....

I cannot imagine a single Bernie supporter voting for Trump, not even the worst Bernie bros. They may not vote at all because they don't want to vote for Hillary, but I just cannot imagine circumstances where passionate supporters of someone as liberal as Sanders would switch their allegiance to Trump. But by voting 3rd party or not voting, they may just IN EFFECT put Trump in office. Hope they feel good about that. Terrifying. SaveSaveBernie voters were open and up front that they wouldn't vote for Hillary if she was a nominee because of her foreign policy, not taking a strong enough position on fracking, her past support of TPP, not releasing speech transcripts, etc. This coupled with the fact that every poll showed Sanders a much stronger candidate than Trump makes me see it differently than you. My perspective is that if Democrats wanted to beat Trump they should have voted for Sanders. By voting for Clinton, they are the ones that effectively gave Trump the presidency.

And on Snowden, again in her own words from the same AMA at Reddit: I don't really disagree with her on that. Thank you. It does sound as though she isn't virulently anti-vax. This statement does bother me: "According to the most recent review of vaccination policies across the globe, mandatory vaccination that doesn't allow for medical exemptions is practically unheard of." She goes straight from there to Americans' distrust of the FDA. What does she mean by all that? I don't think there's a state in the union that requires vaccinating children for whom there are medical contra-indications. And I'm not surprised you're a Snowden fan. I feel, um, differently.

I just don't think he'll win. As much as many people don't like/trust/etc Hilary, I think many will vote for her as the lesser of two evils. Many will vote for Trump as the lesser of two evils.

Except the scenario where they want to stick it to the Democrat party. Granted, that would not be the action of someone who is a true Democrat, but many of Bernie's followers are young or first time voters who otherwise aren't invested to vote in the first place and if they are upset enough, it's very likely that they will make a revenge vote. I've seen more than one comment like that on FB. I have too. I think that there might be a small percentage 'spite' vote. I was just reading a thread like that on FB. Wasn't that small 'spite' vote enough to help Brexit pass?

And both of those statements are the reason that voter turnout will determine the winner - which people get out and actually vote, and how many of them.

Keep in mind we haven't had the debates yet. I'm hoping that Hillary eats him for lunch and we'll finally see Trump trying to explain how he's going to actually build his wall and all 'the other things' he promises to do. I cannot wait for the debates. I am so curious to hear both of their plans about how to handle a lot of he very real and very serious issues we are dealing with today. I am going to be super pissed if either of them dodge the questions or turn their turns into time to bash the other candidate. I am so sick of the candidate bashing. Just tell us your plans. That's it. I was looking forward to a debate with Hillary against Cruz/Rubio/Fiorina/Pataki/Santorum/Graham/Christie/Jindal/Walker/Gilmore/Paul/Perry/Bush/Carson. It's going to be fireworks against Trump. "Mr. Trump, what do you think about blahblahblah?" "Let me tell you what I think. I think that Hillary is the WORST thing that ever happened to women who have been raped or attacked....."

So a % of 10% of Bernie supporters is what we're talking about here? Which translates to how many votes? If they are collected in swing states, it may prove significant.

That could be fun. I prefer to watch without any commentary. I can not stand it when someone I want to hear is speaking and the commentators think that's the perfect time to discuss what color their shoelaces are. (Or something as equally important to me at the moment.)

FWIW - They are taking a picture right now with the 100 year old camera that's photographed the last umpteen DNC conventions and presidential inaugurations.
Pretty cool.
