If you want to see how the rest of the world sees your facebook page, go to your own wall, in the corner of your cover photo you'll see "message". Right next to that is 3 dots. Click on that and then drop down to "view as". You'll see how ANYONE on fb can see your wall. You might be surprised that all your posts are public. If there's something there you wouldn't want someone to see, now is your chance to fix it.
Your profile pics are always public, but you can go back and set them to private later.
To change your privacy settings on your wall at the very top right in the blue bar is a lock with some lines next to it. That is the short cuts to your privacy settings. Click on that and you can change who can see what. If you want to change who can see your friends list, go to your wall, then click on your friends list. At the top in the bar that says "friends" is a pencil. That is "manage" when you click on that it will pop up "edit privacy". At that point you can change who can see your friends list. I would suggest that you set it to at LEAST "friends only" but in light of what has happened recently, you might consider setting it to "Only me".
Lastly, I suggest you don't use your profile name here as your profile name/User ID in other places on the internet. Especially on FB. This is the #1 reason my name here is freebird. Because it's a song name that will be all over the place and hard to find. Don't make your ID easy to google. so instead of being PrinzCharlotte2489, be PrincessCharlotte. (the common name will throw off the search results.
If others have tips, please share!

I have mine pretty locked as you should only be able to find me if we have a friend in common.
It has amazed me a couple of times when two people I had no idea were connected were fb friends and someone found me

Also, don't forget, many of you posted who you were on one of the Pea groups on fb.

Not to ask the stupid question, but how do you get to your wall? Google showed me how it used to be, but not the current format.

When you're logged into facebook, just click your name up at the top and that will take you to your wall. All my instructions are for a PC also. Phone apps might be different.

I am on an iPad and I wasn't sure if I was on the wrong screen, or if it was different because I don't have a cover photo.

Another tip, although I'm not sure if it still works like this: It used to be that if you change the privacy setting to "public" on an individual post, each subsequent post would default to public until you re-set privacy back to friends. So just be aware of this!

Ummm just checked mine and the only thing people can see (who are not friends) is when I change my profile picture. And the about me section... I have never went in over the years to change privacy things (even though it seems like every six months there is all kinds of 'warnings').. So mine is set pretty decent from the get go.

Thank you!!! I was wondering why my ex could all of a sudden see my posts. He's not blocked anymore. I don't know how that happened; all I know is I didn't do anything.
Just thank you!!!!

I have occasionally been a little jealous of the Peas who are Facebook friends, especially when the original board shut down and I didn't have anyone who could tell me about the new place. I don't feel that way anymore. I'm sorry that it bit carblover. I like her.
I was way behind on reading that thread, so had no idea there was any controversy. I think out of respect for her I will not go back to it.

All of a sudden, none of my friends could see my extremely few updates. They were set so only one other person could see them. Weird weird weird.

I know. I never have tried to hide my identity here. I've always had such unique names and a unique life that it would be too hard to hide. It keeps me in check

I changed my friends list to only me a while back because of all the Facebook accounts being cloned.

So just be aware of this! It still does this. So be very careful if you decide to make one post to a wider audience as it will remain on that wider audience until you revert it back. Save
