She is flying with a friend (unaccompanied minors), they are 8 and 9 years old. I am to pick them up tonight but realized my license is expired but I have a receipt showing I renewed my license and it will be mailed. I was hoping to get it before today but no show yet. Do you think I will have any problems picking them up? I might call the airline and find out...... UPDATE: HAHAHA... Guess what came in the mail about 10 minutes ago? heehee

I don't think it would be a problem. A couple of years ago I renewed my license late and I presented the same docs (old license and temp license/receipt) and the TSA agent didn't blink.

The receipt is a valid (temporary) license from the state. You should be fine as long as the dates on the receipt are still good.

I have to go to the ticket counter first and check in with them. I am sure that will be my first stop to show my ID. I didn't think about TSA part...
I have all my info on my phone. Now I wonder if I should print out the papers? I will have to go to Office Depot or somewhere cause ya know of course my printer doesn't work.

It's not a problem. I flew with my expired license and the renewal paper. The TSA agent asked if I had the paper, but never asked to see it.

I'd make sure you have the old licensr and the hard copy of the receipt and statement that you have renewed.

All you need is ID with your name on it. Do you have a passport?
I just did the unaccompanied minor thing and all they look at is the name making sure it matches with the name that is on the piece of paper they have.

I was going to suggest a passport, too. It would be simpler.

If you have a passport, take it just to CYA. But the receipts etc. should work.

You should be fine. I once had to fly with my expired license. I had the renewall receipt stapled to it, and I brought my also expired passport and my birth and marriage certificate. I was seriously paranoid about not being able to get on that plane! But, a quick explanation to the officers and the offer to show any of the above documents was enough to make them happy and off I went.

I'll take my license and renewal.. and I have other ID with my name on it... I mean in any case, what are they going to do with two little girls? Leave them there?

I lost my license when I traveled last month and researched what I needed to do. My State will only mail a replacement to the address on the license, and it isn't fast. From what my research revealed, if I hadn't found my license (it turned out to be under the seat of my rental car, not on the ground at Disneyland as I suspected), they more than likely would have let me fly if I had enough documentation to convince TSA that I was really me. I was prepared to bring an expired license and magazines with my home address - things that someone who had stolen my license wouldn't have.
If they would, in theory, let me fly on that, I think the license and renewal docs will be more than enough to pick up the girls.

After 2.5 days in Chicago as I was preparing for the trip back, I realized I no longer had my license. I did have it to go through TSA in Baltimore. My best guess was that it was lost in the airport. When I got to the TSA in Chicago, I explained my situation. I was pulled out of line. Two TSA agents, spoke with me about what I *did* have on hand to prove who I was. It ultimately came down to my medication. I had taken my medication in their original containers instead of the pill box I usually use. I was nearly in tears with gratitude that the were so kind and worked with me to get me through and on my plane on time. OP: I think you've got it covered

I renewed my license in October and didn't get it until the middle of March.

You will be fine as long as you have the expired ID and the renewal receipt. I traveled quite a bit using those two pieces of paper until the TSA agent in Philly recognized me as being the woman with the expired license from four months, two months, and last week ago. She gave me a really hard time on a Friday when I was trying to get home to Texas. Texas DPS had computer issues and everyone's license was delayed by 8 to 12 weeks. I missed my flight due to the extra screening so I had to spend another two days in Philly (bad weather, cancelled flights, etc. etc. etc.). I had to call my state legislator that following Monday to ask him to intervene with Texas DPS to get my drivers license ASAP. I got my new license in three days.

I got to the airport once & realized I had lost my license. TSA accepted my Sam's card as proof of my identity because it had my name & photo on it.
