We need to replace our 26 year old double oven. It is a Whirlpool and has served us well ~ never have needed service. So if you have bought a 30" wide oven recently and paid less than $3,000, could you let me know what you selected and why. TIA!

I read your post and thought you meant there is now an extra wall around it, or layer, like double-pane glass.
Dense. I think it took me three times!
Sorry I can't help. Our double ovens were side X side. When we updated we decided we only needed the larger one and turned extra space into open storage nook.

I have not purchased one for quite a while, but I'm absolutely convinced that when I do, I will be purchasing a french door oven. They are all high end right now but I'm hoping that by the time I am ready, there will be midrange manufactures producing them. I'm fairly short and reaching into a wall oven over the door is always such a PITA.
None of which is helpful to answering your questions. Except maybe they are well, well above the $3,000 range.

LOL cadoodlebug its just me, maybe my brain was protecting me from a jinx. I've replaced all other large appliances in the last year! Our oven is from remodel about 13 years ago. The price increases on appliances is shocking. If I have to buy a new oven soon, youngest DS might need to drive it. burningfeather maybe they'll come down when they become more popular and mass marketers start to carry them. This always happens in bathroom fixtures. Usually too late for me. I wanted the new style freestanding tub, but it was over $5K. Now that it's common here for builders to use the price has dropped.

This is my hope as well. I've burned myself on the oven door too many times to count. It's such a smoke solution, but I hope I don't have to pay $3,000!

I bought an Electrolux in 2013 that was 33" that was under 3K. Don't remember exactly, but maybe around 2K with rebates? the 30" aren't wide enough to fit a roaster so we went with 33"

3 years ago we remodeled the kitchen and installed 30" double ovens by Kitchenaid. Prior to that I had a Kitchenaid convection oven for 20+ years with no problems. I have been very disappointed with these ovens. They take longer to heat up to desired temp, and are noisy to boot. The cool down time takes much longer than before and is also noisy. While I do realize some of the noise factor is from having an open kitchen now, this is just too loud. I would not buy these ovens again.
If I were to redo the oven choice, I would go with a lower convection oven and a smaller steam oven on the top. Much more versatile than just having 2 ovens.

I was going to say ours were KitchenAid, but it's been too many years and we had to leave them when we moved ! We loved ours...one was regular and one convection. I didn't notice noise or heat up/cool down time being longer but we were also replacing something that was very old and having many issues, so hard to compare. Our ovens also faced into the kitchen (although we had open concept) and had a column/wall that separated them from the rest of the open concept spaces. I now have another really old one connected to a microwave that I would love to replace -- but it still works ....
