Will come in handy. The funny thing is, I was just thinking "how do people do this ALL OF THE TIME?" I've only lived in an apartment when I was young 20's and I don't really remember grocery shopping- lol- but now, oy. Any way, I saw this on Facebook. A friend of a friend invented this thing. grocery belt The only thing it won't help me with is giant bottles or case but I'll take. I'm sharing in case anyone feels my pain.

I could use that from garage to door- I hate multiple trips!
I'm trying to picture my younger self doing that when I lived in the city.... Maybe if it had coordinating bags?

I don't think I could walk with that on. I use a shopping cart. It's annoying to store but it makes lugging things from the car to the apartment so much easier.

I used to use a giant tote bag before reusable bags were a thing. The only problem was that the shoulder strap would literally bruise me if I bought really heavy stuff. I also had an elevator, but I lived 2 or 3 blocks uphill from the grocery store. I used to buy milk on the way home from work at the drugstore so I could avoid buying it when I got groceries.

I would think the bags would be banging against me as I walked and really annoy me. The bags would have to be packed light so as to not rip/tear too.
I like the wheeled cart better.

I never saw one like that before - it's pretty cool how the wheels turn so you don't have to yank it up the steps. Mine has four regular wheels and is much larger which I need since I use it to bring the clothes down to the laundry room. And yes...I thought Montgomery Ward was long long gone.

Haven't seen a grocery bag in awhile that can make it 20 feet from vehicle to door without mishap. I can envision that lady on the bike spewing veggies and eggs all down the street... I was thinking cart too when I read peace 's headline. I had never seen one like anonrefugee 's link. Now THAT would be awesome. And it looks like it might be big enough to haul scrappy supplies. Hey justjac ! Do you think that cart would climb YOUR stairs?

Totally shocked that Montgomery Ward is still around. I thought they went out of business years ago. After googling, I see they did go out of business in 2001, but were bought by a catalog retailer and launched again in 2004.

I use a large utility tote from 31 bags plus on other two of their cooler bags. Most weeks th hose three bags are enough, but I have to take a separate trip for the milk.

That would be so nice to have. I unload my car at the curb placing all the bags and items on our front porch. Then I climb the steps, unlock the door, and tote everything inside, setting all the bags in the living room. Lock the door and transfer everything to the other end of the house where our kitchen is. Hanging everything from a belt would really be handy. Wonder how bruised my legs would be from all those swinging bags thumping against me............

That is very cool. I need to buy one for Amanda and one for our neighbor. They seem to walk to Winco at least once a week. That would make it all much easier for them.

Ha ha! I was going to link up the stair cart too but someone beat me to it! DH saw a video for one with bigger wheels than the one in the Wards link. I think that belt thing would kill my back. No way would that work for me. I'm pretty sure it would also be problematic for people with foot or knee problems too. Here you go, this is the one DH showed me a couple weeks ago. My studio is in the basement and hauling things up and down the stairs is a PITA. Upcart.com

I don't have to buy water any longer. That was a pain in the neck to bring up to the 2nd floor with a screaming baby. Oh man. We bought these 1.5L bottles of water every 2 days because hubby didn't like the tap water and carrying them up the stairs. I could kill him for renting on the 2nd floor. I needed the belt!

I haven't seen a plastic grocery bag in years that would last through the trip to the car. Maybe if the just put 1 or 2 items per bag. Those rolling carts are great! I have this one from our Paris posting. Now they even sell insulated ones, which would be great for getting cold/frozen things home.

Hauling groceries is the bane of my existence now that I live in a high-rise condo. I know exactly how many bags/bins of groceries can fit into the rolling cart that I keep stored in my car but I am often packing and unpacking my groceries twice each trip since I can't just dump the bags into the cart. And I'm mad if I can't get them all upstairs in one trip, lol. #lazy
The bag belt looks pretty handy actually!
