This is a non-partisan comment:
I love watching Roll Call during political conventions.
"The Great State of _______, home to the biggest ball of twine, proudly casts its votes for...."

Me too! It makes me proud of our political system and is what the convention should be--a giant pep rally for the party gearing up for the general election.

I didn't see the Republican roll call (probably just as well), but I am loving the Democratic roll call! Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves so much.

My son turned it on and I got sucked in. Didn't it used to happen at night? We're joking about the Democratic "look." My son still remembers visiting the gallery at the House of Representatives in D.C. and asking why the Democratic reps looked so much sloppier more casual than the Republicans. ("Son, those are our people." ) Was it just me or did the Illinois delegation not even mention that Hillary Clinton was born and raised here? (Implied by childhood friend mentioning HRC's parents, I guess, but still...) And we don't even have a competing giant ball of twine...

I loved the Roll Call. It annoys me that it's no longer on in prime time.

Me too. It would be nice if it wasn't during work hours for those of us on the West Coast, I missed both

I have actually enjoyed watching both as well. I is fun to see what they say and how the states present themselves.

Haha. I've avoided both roll calls. The posturing to advertise your state drives me bonkers. Some of those introductions are as long as the speeches from the stage.
This is why it's a free country.

Anyone remember what WV said? I'm traveling and am missing all of it. IIRC, they started with "West Virginia, almost heaven" but can't remember what was after that. SaveSave
