We have a 529 plan for our daughter and it's time to pay the tuition bill. I will call my advisor tomorrow but was wondering if anyone has ever gone online and somehow made the payment to the school that way through the 529 site?

Yes, I just logged in and authorized the transfer. It was super easy, but I'm sure the process depends on who is administering your plan.

You have to pay for 529 plans? Eta: oops, my bad. I was thinking of 504 plans for kids in schools!

Yes, just did it for my girls last week. I just authorize a check to be sent to the school. I have been doing it for 4 years. Works so easily. I also let the accounts person at the school know that the checks have been requested from our 529. I just E-mail her and tell her she should receive the checks in 5-7 days. You also will need you child's student ID number. At least at our school you need it. It goes on the check sent to the school.
