My dad had the best sense of humor. The best. It was pretty masculine and sometimes sexist, but it taught me to be quick with the comebacks. We used to hide plastic poop in each other's houses after a visit and I just found it in one of my drawers the other day and I almost cried. Sometimes he would say things and I would repeat them when I shouldn't have. My favorite that I know of was when I was maybe five and someone said liquor. Of course the only response I knew was "Lick her? I hardly know her." I went over well with the church group. Now my boys say it in honor of Papa.

Great texts, and I LOVE that of him smiling at his doggie!!! It reminds me of my Dad, who also has a GREAT sense of humor and cracks me up ALL the time! He recently visited, and he PRETENDS to not like our doggies, but I KNOW he loves them!

Love it! Just great banter. The joke my 85 yo dad told my sister and I last night, while eating dinner in a restaurant, was about a women who went to the dr. with an "infection". After she gets in the stirrups and is examined the dr. said "you have no infection". To which the girl replies, "It's my ear that is bothering me". Oh Dad.......My Mom just rolls her eyes.

Thanks everyone.. My father raised me since I was 4 years old.. 37 years later he is still a great dad who makes sure I'm happy before anything else. He lives only about 10 minutes from me so I see him often. Love him to the moon and beyond! Here is he and I from my birthday a couple weeks ago.

2dealsamongus----Aww, that is a SWEET pik! I'm so happy for you that he lives 10 minutes away! Since my Dad doesn't live near us, he comes to visit twice a year and stays for a month, plus, we go to see him and the rest of our families at Christmas. I hate that we only see him 3 times per year, especially now that he's older julieb ----your Dad is a HOOT !!! Mine is also 85, and (thank You, Lord!) is still VERY happy & GREAT sense of humor, he lives alone (and really loves it!), annnd has only MINOR health issues & only takes ONE medication!!! ( I only mention that because pretty much EVERY SINGLE person I've met that age takes a TON of medications!!!) When he was here visiting me, he would take walks early in the morning before the blazes of Hell heat started.....I used to love taking walks with him, but I can't right now. He is actually healthier than ME, sad to say!!!! My brother and sister are SO thankful that he's doing so well at 85; and he's also a very FUN grandpa / great-grandpa----all the kiddos adore him!!!
