Good morning ladies! Happy Wednesday!! I'm off to work out here in a minute and then I found some motivation yesterday and I hope to continue that today. My BFF and her girls are coming over to swim and we're going to order pizza for the kids. So I want to get the house all cleaned up in the main living areas - mostly just need to vacuum and wash the floors. Then I want to get started on the kids' rooms. I like to purge their rooms before school starts and go through closets and dressers. Not too much going on besides that. The scale was up almost 2 lbs this morning - I didn't drink a lot of water yesterday but I also didn't eat much so not sure what's up with that. No worries though - I'm hanging in there. Hope you're all having a good week!!

I sent the walrus photo of myself to my dad and he said he can notice a real difference. That was sweet, Dad, thanks. . I lifted and carried about 8 pounds of paper around work today. I couldn't lift it and carry to the car comfortably. So I think to myself I was carrying more than double that much weight and it's GONE!!!! That makes me so happy. I bought something at work (printing services) and that was my reward for myself. I will get something every time i have a milestone. I am just happy to have it gone! Good luck everyone. You all inspire me!

Delta Dawn, what a great perspective as you think about carrying that pape vs. the weight you have lost. Awesome! brandy327, sorry about the gain. Humidity/heat do it to me no matter what. I just cling to that darn water! Ugh! Walked the dog at 7 a.m., and it was already 95% humidity. We died! I didn't walk as far because it was just awful. Now it is down to a whopping 92%. Ugh! I have a plumber coming today and the AC guy for our 6 month maintenance. Then I have bills and laundry. I know y'all are jealous of my very fun day I have planned. LOL! On another note, the Skinny Taste recipe I made last night was amazing. The family (3 of us here) loved it. I have tons of leftovers so that is great for my lunches. Yum!

Workout is done and I'm pretty sure I about died. BUT I ran the full 25 mins on W7D1 of the C25K!! That makes 2 times in a row of doing the 25 mins so I'm finally going to move on to W7D2. Hopefully I can sail through the rest of the program! It's taken me a lot longer to do than it should have but I'm happy to finally be able to finish!! ETA: I also did 20 mins of upper body weights. So almost an hour workout today! Off to shower and clean closets!!

Good morning fitness folks, Patter Sorry about the humidity. I just posted on the summer thread how cool and dry it is here today. I'm not jealous of southern states during a nice New England summer. I'll get back to you in January brandy327 I feel you with the weigh ins. I gained two pounds since I've started exercising over the last month. My eating habits haven't been great, but over the last month I've made lots of improvement to my diet. I keep pretending it's water weight, but it just keeps getting higher. Sigh. I know what I need to do. I had a lousy fitness day yesterday. I overate tons of junk, didn't exercise, and basically couldn't get out of my own way all day. I felt tired and draggy all day-- I should have gone back to bed and started over. I guess today is the day to do that. I feel fine this morning. My plan is a walk/jog on the rail trail with the dog. Then I have to run a bunch of tests on the high school labs I'm editing. I'm making potato batteries to photograph and get sample data, then running some simulations on biofuels. This is the part of my job I love.

So I ordered a new scale, it should be here this week. If the new scale says I'm the same weight, fine. I've been eating less and healthy for 16 days except some cake on my DS birthday Monday (I made it, I wanted a taste) and a tiny glass of lemonade otherwise no cookies, no soda, nothing to drink that was not milk, water or coffee, tons of veggies and salads (with less than a tablespoon of dressing) and it would be really nice if the scale would move from where it has been for over a year.
I haven't been exercising because I've been busy painting, sanding, staining, assembling furniture and doing a ton of house projects that need to be done before it starts to rain in September. I also need to unbury the treadmill from under a pile of boxes (from my kitchen project) and don't have anywhere else to put them. The story of my house...
I'm keeping up the healthy eating, 16 days is a record for me. Usually I last a week or less.
Keep up the healthy habits guys! And thanks for this thread.

brandy327 - great job on the heavy workout today! Delta Dawn - congrats on your loss - it takes hard work to lose! Patter - i know how you feel, it's already 100 here (Texas) ick. I took the dogs for a walk at 6 and it's a good thing I had already worked out or the humidity would have done me in. maryannscraps - hope today is better for you on the exercise front. your potato batteries sound fascinating! breetheflea - clean eating is my downfall so I admire that you've been going for 16 days Yesterday I didn't work out early, and almost didn't work out at all, but this board held me accountable, so..I hit Barre class last night. This morning I did boot camp, came home walked the dogs, cleaned out the pantry, have done a few loads of laundry and now I plan to sit down a read a chapter or two in a new book I got from the library yesterday.

Hey girls! Just a quick check in while I'm I lunch. Back to work today, and sure enough they had pie for our first break. I brought an apple and a cheese stick so I could steer clear but still munch on something.
Having some leftovers for lunch then going back for the afternoon to work on my room.
We had a staff scavenger hunt this morning--I may get comments a lot for eating apples instead of pie, or always going to the gym, but I 1) wasn't out of breath at all going from place to place 2) wasn't pouring sweat (I think because I'm used to working out in heat!) and 3) wasn't completely worn out from walking all over campus.
It definitely helps me stay focused on my "why"!
Have a great Wednesday!

Hello ladies
I'm in the midst of a very frustrating week at work. Usually weeks like this send me straight to chocolate but I'm trying to be better about my choices.
I have been trying to do the BBM you tube workouts but after I week I just can't deal with her. She annoys me and her workouts aren't what I want to focus on. So I'm off to find a new you tube workout for my non-runs day.
On a positive note my husband has decided to do a 5K with me in October. He is only going to walk it but I'm excited that he is getting interested in exercise.

Hey ladies. Went to water aerobics this morning, and it was back to being fun and easy, thank goodness! It was hard and I felt like a slug the last couple of times I went.
I took some clothes to Goodwill yesterday, and while I was there, I decided I had the patience to look through the store and see if they had anything worthwhile. For $22, I ended up getting 3 pair of pants (NY & Co, Chicos, and Apt 9 which I think is Kohls?), a pair of J. Jill shorts, and a JC Penney t-shirt. I'm down a size, which is great, but my closet is realllllly slim pickings, which can be frustrating to wear the same 4 things over and over and over. I'm trying to hold out on buying things until I really need them (like for work trips or when I really have literally nothing of that type of item), since it is so hot right now here and the weather will change again probably when I get to the next size. How things will fit in a span of just a few weeks is unpredictable, so I don't like to buy stuff I can't wear right away. The NY&CO pants were just a tiny bit tight in the thighs, but my next work trip is still 3.5 weeks away, and the pants were do-able with a long top. The Goodwill shopping experience is so miserable, but the price was worth it yesterday, and the items were really great - just have to put your blinders on to the chaos and really check out the condition of everything. A pair of Chicos pants for $5 is pretty awesome.

Weight Watchers gives out charms if you do a 5K, and I am a sucker for those charms. So silly, I know, but I do love them. I like the sound they make when they clank together on the keychain, haha. Sorry about your annoying week. I've had a couple stressful weeks at work as well and could REALLY feel it in my jaw the last couple of days. It just felt so tight. Let us know what YouTube videos you find - I like to bookmark them for an option when I travel.

I'm slowly but successfully getting into work mode. This means I'm having to walk in the evening after work. I've done so the last two nights and it's been so humid. I don't have the same vim & vigor after a full day of work, but at least I'm getting out there.

I find if I'm not good on drinking water my weight just will not move. And don't always depend on the scale. I have never done a lot of measuring but a couple of months ago, I started. The scale hasn't moved a ton but I've seen a loss in inches. Just over the last month, I've lost 1/2 inch on my calves. So there could very well be changes, just not on the scale.

I'm hoping that now that I'm nearing "regular" sizes (meaning closer to what the majority of the population wears) I'll be able to find more things. Great job on finding some stuff at a good price!!

brandy327 My weight usually fluctuates from week to week- who knows? Crazy, but mine was exactly the same today as it was last Wednesday. I'm only weighed once a week- thank God- daily would drive me insane.
Delta Dawn Great job!
Patter- Which recipe was it from Skinny Taste? Did I miss it? I need to change things up.
maryannscraps Just start over- we all have those days!
breetheflea Keep up the good work!
originalvanillabean Wow- you were busy!
littlefish Yay for resisting temptation!
needmysanity I miss chocolate! I tried a 90% cocoa Lindt bar- takes a lot of getting used to...
AN I wish I had the patience to look through stuff at thrift stores.
tuesdaysgone I know that has to be hard to do after working.
I'm still plugging along- did chest/arms today- insane number of reps. I hate this week's workouts! I'm sore all over.

Hello ladies!
Today was a loooong day. First day back to work. My eating was pretty dang good. I did have a few pieces of chocolate at the staff lunch. Grrr....I am mad at myself for that.
I did get up and do my BBM this morning.
Tomorrow I am taking the kids out for last minute supplies and dinner after their first day. I will run when we get home. I will also do my BBM when I wake up.
Okay, off to bed. I am exhausted from my first day and back to school night.

I went back to Amazon to read scale reviews for my old scale and it could possibly be the scale I have (made by Borg) is a piece of junk. A lot of reviews have the same problem, losing or gaining 5-10 lbs by just breathing while standing on the scale, having to calibrate it every time you step on it etc. I am very excited for my new, hopefully accurate, scale to get here Friday and to find out my real weight! I do drink a lot of water but I will try to drink more and see if that helps. I also unearthed my treadmill today so maybe tomorrow I will get a chance to use it. Murphy's law (knock on wood) says I will somehow tweak my knee in my sleep tonight... but I'm staying positive.
