you all might want to check out Debra Murray on FB. She previously did cooking shows on qvc and hsn and is now on Evine.
She just started up a FB group to make her recipes available (and others to exchange theirs) for PC, Wonder Pot and the Air Fryer. And she takes questions too.
I have the Wonder Pot and have an AF on the way.
for BF - I watched an induction plate demo the other day on HSN or Evine (?) and one of the things they gave as a benefit is that it doesn't boil over! you can set them to keep a constant temp so they don't. Maybe someone here who has induction has a different experience with it?
I'm thinking of getting an induction cooker (1 hob) maybe this coming winter - if I survive using the WP and AF! I can't remember when I last used 2 burners on my stove at 1 time, so I think 1 induction hob will work. I will still have the stove top in case I go into a nightmare and decide to cook up some mega meal. (haven't done that in over 20 yrs, so it isn't likely)

I just used my IP for the first time tonight. I got a cookbook from Amazon (that I think you actually recommended on another thread, Elaine). It's great, so I just picked a couple of things out to try and hit the grocery store. I made peach and bourbon chicken. Oh man, was it GOOD. I tend to be very critical of things I make myself, but this was fantastic. I served it with a side of orzo and it was delish. The IP was a little scary to me at first, but now, heck, I got this. I think I'm really going to like it.

I was all set to make lasagna tonight, had all the ingredients, had the springform pan....but the pan was too big - sigh! Another amazon order

elaine how many ounces are in a carton of beef stock? I usually buy it in the can or use bullion. This is for the black bean recipe. 32 oz.

White rice 1-1/2 cups rice 3 cups stock Same settings as the first time I made rice when it was perfect the "rice setting". The only difference was the stock. First time I used water If the only difference was stock vs. water, then I would guess that something in the stock was the culprit. There are also different types of white rice, and they have different liquid and rinsing requirements. So, make sure you are using the same type of rice you used the first time.

Okay! Now I just made rice with a drained can of southwestern corn, a jar of salsa (drained and liquid reserved as part of the liquid needed for the rice.
The taste was sooo good, but the rice a tad mushy/soft. Did I over cook it? I used the rice setting again, which is 12 minutes I think (or 15)

She has more than 1 group on FB. one is for her flip pan (that looks neat but would be too heavy for my hands to do ). She might have 1 just for the pressure cookers. I only signed up on FB today so haven't gotten far in my adventures on it.
I don't see anything on it about 'cooking under pressure'. just 'cooking with Debra Murray'.
it's a rather new one I think. on page 1 she is the top pic in a black top with red apron on. she's looking down at the skillet. 2nd pic is of her, another female and a guy.
it does get a bit confusing because some recipes are for the PC/IP and some for the Wonder Pot and there's a few (so far) for the AF. It's a mixture. but recipes for the WP can be adjusted for IP and she often gives the adjustment (people ask her for it).
I've only scanned thru a few pages copying out things for the WP and AF. I think recipes for the WP can work in the IP by using 'cook'. WP isn't a pressure cooker.
eta - all of her posts on the FB site I found start out with 'In The Kitchen With Debra Murray'. her post on the page you posted just has her name.

If you try it out, be sure to post back here and let us know. I don't always trust things they say on those shows... he was cooking with oil at the time, actually, it was just oil boiling in a skillet.

I haven't tried rice yet. Going to attempt tonight I think. I'm nervous because every time I cook natural rice ( not minute rice), it turns out horribly. I have a huge bag of white rice sitting in my pantry..I have to try.

Okay, so I need to know what kinds of rice are best for the rice pudding. I want really creamy rice pudding like those of you who have made it. I wrote down "arborro" rice, but I was just at the grocery store and there isn't anything called that. I did go to the smaller store so that could be it. There's a larger one of the same chain (Giant) nearby so maybe I'll try that later.
But if not "arborro" is there another kind? I usually just buy a bag of "parboiled white" or "jasmine white" both of which take about 20 minutes or so on the stovetop. And that's what I used when I tried rice pudding in the oven and it wasn't very good, not at all creamy.

I buy mine in a plastic jug by Rice Select. It should be there in the rice section of Giant.

I'll check in the bigger Giant later this afternoon. My regular one is pretty small, but they recently built one of those HUGE ones that has like 25 checkout lanes (not that there are ever more than 2 or 3 opened, lol) . I could hatch a Pokemon egg while I'm walking through that store. lol

I made the best dinner last night. I find after using my IP for the past six months I barely need to consult a recipe anymore. I just raid the pantry/freezer/fridge and toss stuff in.
I made a chicken taco bowl.
I defrosted a few (4) frozen chicken tenderloins. I buy the big bag of them flash frozen, they de-ice quickly on the defrost setting in the microwave because they are so thin. I prefer the to big chicken breasts for quick meals.
I lightly toasted a large coffee cup of long grain rice in the IP on saute high in some oil, tossed in some fine diced onion and crushed garlic. Added a big chopped up tomato that was really ripe. Finished sauteing.
About 1 cup of some leftover tomato sauce. Mixed all that together. Threw in some frozen pearl onions, and about a half a bag of frozen Southwestern veggie mix (it has black beans, corn, red and green peppers and green chiles). Added the defrosted chicken tenderloins. Added a mugful and 1/2 of water. Seasoned with some Savory brand (mail order) Taco Seasoning and their Siesta Key Spanish Sazon Blend (love that stuff) to taste <ed to add> I also added about a slight tablespoon of Knorrs Tomato Bullion. Put the lid on, hit the Rice button. Let it Natural release. OMG. So good. Rice cooked perfectly, the chicken falling apart. The veggies cooked just right, not overcooked because I threw them in frozen.
I put it in a bowl, topped it with some grated cheddar and a bit more taco sauce. Ate it with tortilla chips on the side. I've got leftovers for lunch today and its going to be even better.

It looks like a pressure cooker, but isn't one. It is a rice cooker/slow cooker/roaster made to look just like a pressure cooker. Reading the FB pages, it doesn't really cook any quicker than cooking on the stove-top or in the oven, but at least everything would be contained. Kind of like a Ninja 4-1, but smaller.

It was so very hot here today..our 17th heat warning (day over 35c) of the summer. I didn't take anything out so I had some farmer sausage in the freezer and put that in the pot with some garlic and bbq sauce. Cooked for 8 minutes and they were great! Didn't do my rice though. Just made minute rice.

I used the rice setting again, which is 12 minutes I think (or 15) I just made rice using the rice setting and it was mushy. It's the first thing I've made in my Instant Pot. I think the problem was that I manually released the steam instead of letting it come out on its own. What did you do?

What is a Wonder Pot. Every search just brings up a non electric pot but the recipes mention settings so I'm obviously looking at the wrong things. the wonder pot is like the pressure cooker... without the pressure cook part. toss stuff in for soup, stew, stir fry etc, push a start thing and it does its thing... then shuts off to warm cycle.
and it's cheaper than a pressure cooker. I paid 40.00 for mine. look on Evine website.
i'll look up that website for Debra and post. I do remember I got that page to nowhere also... I've been on her new site the past day or so copying out recipes, so I know it exists -

gale - this should be it -
www.facebook.com/cookingwithdeb/nr
it should start with a pic of her in black shirt and red apron and scroll on down to q and a, recipes, more pics etc.
and Elaine is correct on the wonder pot. I didn't even know it was a 'wonder' pot til last few days. I got it because it looked like it'd be easy for the few things I cook, less prep dishes, time and less times my smoke detector would go off and I'd be jumping and hitting at it with the handle of a broom or Swiffer... I don't have a 'busy' schedule or family to feed, so the bit of extra time isn't a problem for me. I would have loved a pressure cooker like we have as option today when I was raising my kids!

gale - note I change the website url in prev post (in case you missed it).
I don't know why it keeps changing. took me 5 or 6 tries to get the right one to pull up.
check all that have her name in the url and are on facebook - and are in English. I ran into a few in Spanish (I think) and others on facebook w/out her name in the url.
again, the first pic you will see is her in long sleeve black top with red apron.
