jjpeapea You rock! I kept checking back to see what it was. I have no idea why it was even remotely important to me. Mystery solved! You need to post more

Hallelujah! I knew it had to be some type of guard to some type of slicing equipment, as that's really the only way I'd recognize such a thing (years of food service, ages ago) but I just couldn't remember for sure. Thank you!

1) lasagna spatula; serrated edge used to cut pieces before serving. That is what I was going to say for #1. My mom has one and we use it for lasagna.

Ha, ha - Long time lurker had to register to answer this. I'm like the kid in the back of the class waving their hand, "I know, I know." That made me laugh! And welcome to the board!

Ha, ha - Long time lurker had to register to answer this. BRILLIANT! A conversation in my house just last week between moving-out foodie daughter and me: ------------------------------------- Me: You know, I have a food processor from the '90s up on the highest shelf of that cabinet. I actually liked it more than the one I have now. Do you want it?
Her: Sure, are all the parts there?
Me: Oh, I'm SURE they are. I wouldn't have tossed any of them. -------------------------------------- Well, I was HALF right. For a prize, I'd be happy to send you a nifty "Cut'n'Serve" serrated whatchamacallit...fashioned from melamine by genuine Midwestern wood nymphs. Welcome to active posting. And you dove in THIS week. Heh. How long have you been lurking? (Asked the woman who lurked for two years before posting...)

Holy guacamole that was brilliant! How on earth did you figure it out?? Thanks to thread I may have to start my own about the mystery kitchen thingy that we found in my grandmother's house when we cleaned it out. We have zero clue and I have had it for a million years just because I want to know what in the everloving hell it is.

Your post made me laugh. I'm late chiming in here (just got home from work & errands) but I knew what #3 was as soon as I opened the thread and looked at the picture. I have that same food processor (circa 1991). As a matter of fact, I was recently looking for the grater "plate" (shown in the link's picture of the full food processor), and couldn't find it anywhere...and was having a heckuva time trying to explain to DH what it looked like so he could help me find it. (It was sort of like that story where 2 kids are drawing from someone's verbal description and they come up with completely different drawings.) So, now I have your link bookmarked in case I ever need replacement parts...or can't find an accessory part in my kitchen, LOL! And welcome to the board! Save

Well, I have been lurking since the board was part of a scrapbook store. I keep a pocket page scrapbook, sometimes using Project Life products and many times using my own stash. I also am a cardmaker.
I have that food processor and I still use it. The grey spindle thing cracked, so I can't use the shredder or slicer blades anymore. But it is an easy way to make ham salad and hummus - just the right size!
Sometimes you need your food to stand up in the chute - like if you want carrot circles the carrot has to stand up. So the food hold clips on the top of the chute and puts a little springy pressure on your carrot.
