So this is kind of what I meant when I used the word unhinged.

So this is kind of what I meant when I used the word unhinged. Logical reasoning equals unhinged to you? And the OP asking for comments and getting them, equals "stalking"? OK then, that's what I meant when I used the word idiot.

So this is kind of what I meant when I used the word unhinged. If caring about animal welfare is unhinged then I'm unhinged. There is no justifiable reason to declaw a perfectly healthy paw, it's done purely to satisfy humans, now that is truly unhinged.

Nope, sorry, you're wrong. The UK is a country and England, Scotland, Wales and NORTHERN Ireland (you forgot the northern part) are constituent nations within the UK. Ireland is a separate country. You need to consult the ISO list of countries, and......stop smoking. I was born in the country known as England and I live in the country known as Scotland. Those of us who actually live in the United Kingdom rarely view the UK as a country. that doesn't mean you're right

that doesn't mean you're right Oh FFS Yubon, stop with the fucking geography bullshit already. You have a million cats and you clearly care about them, how about speaking up for them and the issue at hand instead of having a stupid pissing contest about countries in the UK.

As for the actual topic - everyone here knows I'm a crazy cat lady and I have the badge to prove it (I'm TNR certified). I have 3 declawed cats and 6 that have their claws. None of the declawed cats have any physical issues but they do have mental ones. They are afraid of every little damn thing and especially of the non-declawed cats, because they can't defend themselves. The declawed cats spend most of their time upstairs and the others downstairs with the humans. The hierarchy of cats definitely takes claw status into account.
The reason the 3 are declawed are because my ex-DH insisted. The others came after our divorce.
I would never declaw again. There are alternatives to it, as others have mentioned.

Now I am firm in my beliefs so I posted what they are. FFS

Sorry Yubon you are wrong the UK is not a country The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) consists of a group of islands off the western coast of Europe. The largest, Great Britain, comprises three countries: England, Scotland and Wales. Ireland, to the west, consists of the UK’s province of Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic. There are several offshore islands and island groups, the largest lying off Scotland. The UK is a union of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Crown dependencies (the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) are largely self-governing with the UK responsible for their defence and international relations and are not part of the United Kingdom. - See more at: thecommonwealth.org/our-member-countries/united-kingdom#sthash.ANSTHytu.dpuf

I've already told you that the gold source list of countries is the ISO. The UN would be the next best source and they don't recognize England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland as separate countries either. Neither does the WTO or EU.

Your cat is adorable. I have two cats who came to me declawed. We adopted them. It's my only experience with cats so I have never had any with claws. I can definitely see the drawbacks of scratching. But on its face it seems so cruel to me. I would never intentionally hurt an animal. But I'm a big softie.
