Has anyone used this curriculum/method for reading for Kindergarten? My kiddos brought home the decoding chart for letter-sound recognition and I'm having a hard time interpreting it. I looked up the source and the book is from 2003. Is this a current method? Any information for successful reading curricula is greatly appreciated.

We used Letterland at my former Elementary. Students love it! The best thing you can do as a parent is read every single night together.

We used letter-sound recognition for many years. They do something else now and it works also. When my kids were little, we didn't teach them the letter names first. We did sounds. So when we sang the ABC song, it was the sounds. They were both reading in just a few months after they started kindergarten. Sadly, they don't love it now, but I can't blame how they learned on that.
