Sinistrality which is the word for being left-handed is today! Happy day to all of us! I hope you have a happy day of celebration as there are only about 10% of us in the population but 5 US Presidents have been lefties so I think we are doing pretty well in the world!
What do you do with your left hand that you can't do with you right? Are you the only lefty in your family?
I write, eat, play baseball, and do just about everything with my left hand except sew or use a knife. I use a computer mouse with my right hand but I can't "write" with one because my brain wants me to use my left even though I use the mouse for everything else. (That is weird). I "heard" my grandfather was left-handed, but he and I were the only ones in the family with the gift.
If you are a southpaw post here and be heard!

I also use my right hand for the mouse because a lot of the time I have a pen in my left hand.

In the second grade, right after my grandfather's funeral my grandmother told me I got my left handedness from him and I accepted that and believed it for years even tho I was fully aware the man was my fathers step dad. LOL. I think I just loved him so much I wanted it to be true.

Happy left-handed day to you too! I didn't know this was a thing so thank you for bringing it up!
My grandmother, my mom, and my older DD were/are lefties. The only thing I don't do left-handed is using scissors, but I am definitely right-footed. I did gymnastics and soccer as a kid and figure skating now and I do all that like a righty.

Another leftie here and I'm the only one in my immediate and extended family. I do almost a everything with my left except write. I went to Catholic school as a child and those nuns were adamant about using your right hand to write. I crochet with my left but I knit like a right handed person. I also paint and color with my right hand.

I don't know if I knit and crochet with my right hand or not. I may use my right hand for that. I have terrible tension with my left hand so I tend not to use it for holding the hook, but both look confusing to me so I think I use my right hand.

Leftie here! The only things I really NEED to use only my left hand for are eating with utensils and writing. When I was 7 and wanted to play baseball my Dad refused to buy a leftie glove for a girl who in his mind was probably only going to lose interest a few weeks into the season. Little did he know I would play Baseball and then softball up through high school and beyond. I was even an All-Star pitcher for my LL team. I can bat and throw leftie a little bit, but the rightie became more natural after time. I think like many lefties I've learned to adapt, but always hated spiral notebooks and every cubicle/desk I've ever worked in had to be arranged the opposite of how it's been set up. Oh, and how about always sitting at the table in certain places so you're not bumping elbows with the person next to you.
My kids and DH are righties. I have 1 nephew that is a lefty too.

Happy Lefties' Day! Both of my parents' are/were lefties. Mom was by nature. Dad because he has cerebral palsy that leaves him with just a small amount of function in his right arm. Both of my brothers are right handed. I'm the only leftie in my house. I use my right hand for a few things - scissors, throwing, golf, and using a mouse. I love having a pen in my left and a mouse in my right. One of my bosses is a lefty. When we first started working together, it threw me to see him writing. I hadn't worked directly or lived with a lefty in over 20 years at that point.

Another leftie checking in. I do almost everything left handed. I do use a mouse and key/number pad with my right hand. When I first started at a bank many years ago in the check processing department our encoding machines were all for right handed people. I had to adapt, it took me some time but I got good (and fast) and still use my right for computers, adding machines, etc. People at work always know when I have checked something off because my check marks go the opposite way from everyone else's. So no being able to deny that it was me that did it if it is wrong. ETA: My mom hates to watch me use scissors (we craft/make cards together quite a bit) she says that I look so awkward. I also have a hard time tying my shoes so that they stay tied. A friend watched me one day and said it is because I do it so that everything twists in weird ways. I can triple knot my laces and they will still come untied.

I don't write them often as my boss is a southpaw, too and she does them so I just initial everything instead. It sure was easier writing one opposite, though!

I have always had to use right-handed scissors my entire life and I can't figure out how to use them with my left hand. Can openers make me lose my mind. I hate them! We have an electric one, but I am not pulling it out to open a can of tuna. It's just not happening. I would rather be pissed I have to use the hand held ones. I hate them, though. I can't shred cheese myself any longer. I don't have the hand strength to do it anymore. Sounds wimpy but my left hand isn't strong enough to hold a block of cheese any longer.

Another lefty here! My dad was lefty but the teachers smacked his hand with a ruler and made him change. He was in school back in the 30s so that was typical back then I guess/I hear.
My son is lefty also.
I do just about everything with my left except I do also use the right hand for the mouse and for the phone because I am often holding/writing with my left hand during that time. Oh I also putt mini golf with my right, ha ha. But that's the only sport I do right handed.
I was never able to play softball/baseball because I throw with my left but then also was wanting to catch with my left and couldn't figure a way to do either of them with my right.

I also play mini golf right handed for some reason, probably how I was taught as a kid. Every time I am losing, though, I blame it on using my wrong hand. I make a big production and try to play left handed...but I always go back to my right. It is strange because that is the only thing that I can think of where I had the option/opportunity to use my dominant hand and did not.

My dad is left handed and my brother technically is but my dad made him switch - then when I came along I guess he gave up! I write with my left hand and use utensils and answer the phone. Everything else is right handed including using scissors, the mouse, can openers, sports...
I had three dds and the oldest is a lefty. She is a tire lefty and uses her left hand for everything. Took me quite a while to figure out why she absolutely could t use a can opener!!!! Haha

Sorry had to add, that right handed people hate to fold sheets with me. I fold and turn in opposite directions. However I stand my ground and don't give in. Usually that is not the case and I need to conform to the way of the majority. If they want me to help fold sheets you turn and fold my way...hahaha. It really is amazing how things are geared for right handed people. I have a hard time Opening water bottles that have a flip top, when I try to pull the little security tab/strip it is always the wrong way and it breaks it so that it doesn't pull off. Ohhh the woes We lefties have. ;

I also use my right hand for the mouse because a lot of the time I have a pen in my left hand. I struggle with with can openers, social kissing on the cheek, as most people move to their right, I move to the left and have had a couple of hideous experiences because of it. I have learnt to keep still. Passing people on a narrow pavement can be tricky too. I move to the left, they move to the right, and we collide. Again, I try to keep still until I can see them move.

I'm a leftie. The only right handed thing I do is run a computer mouse (rest of the family were all righties so I had to learn their set up) Beyond that I have a right hand to look like everyone else. Surprisingly, alsmost half of my office are lefties. When we go out to lunch together there is the right hander's side of the table and the left hander's side of the table.
My maternal grandma is a leftie that was forced to switch, my mom is a lefie as am I. Non of my kids were lefties (even with my sister in law being a leftie) I've got two grandkids that are lefties.

I never thought of left handedness being the problem with social kissing/hugging. I never feel comfortable because I feel like I go the wrong way. I will try to train myself to move to the right and maybe that will help.

Interesting tangent: Some Deaf people have trouble "reading" a left-handed sign language interpreter.
More interesting, it doesn't matter what side dominance the reader has; it's just what their brain has gotten used to seeing.

Mostly right handed except for writing and eating. I do wear a watch on my right hand. I can print with right hand just is awkward. But I hold my writing device like a right handed person. I don't do the awkward curve. I remember in grade school in younger years being given left handed scissors (they ran out of right handed ones) and no being able to use them. I couldn't cut a circle with them. Got mark badly. I tried to explain to the teacher I need right handed scissors and was told no cause I was left handed.

Oh I can't use a side cutting can opener. Only the top kind. I have awkward hand position when using it. My brain never figured out how to adapt to it. Not sure why. I keep one around for opening tuna cans. My husband usually ends up doing it for me because he says it looks painful the face I make trying to use it.

Walking and kissing is hard. I never know which direction to move in. That is a 100% problem. Kissing someone on the cheek I can't figure out for the life of me! It's one side or the other but which one?
