I started an aquarium several months ago, because I love fish and find watching them to very peaceful. I had a pair of Dalmatian Mollies since the beginning, and added a yellow platy and a golden panda Molly a month ago, and I have about 15 dwarf shrimp. I went to sit and watch the tank after lunch and saw two babies. Obviously from the golden panda Molly. I ran ran to the aquarium store and got a net breeder box, hoping that the babies would still be uneaten by the time I got back. I'm fairly certain that my female Dalmatian Molly has had babies and that they have all been eaten before I was able to see them. So, here they are, safely ensconced in their breeder box.

Awesome. Our tank has had many Molly babies, etc. My DD thinks her Molly is pregnant now. The babies are so fun to watch as they grow. Have fun!

I have been told that as long as you have a male and female Molly together, she will be pregnant almost continuously. The baby fry are almost all eye at this point. I have only one male Molly - the two other mollies and the platy are all girls. I hope that I can get some of the Dalmatian babies before they are consumed. I'm finding that Mollies are huge eaters.

Did Bob Barker teach you nothing? Have your pets spayed or neutered. How fun to watch them grow.

Congratulations mama! Or should that be grandma? I'm a grandma! At last! I keep checking the tank to see if she has any more. Mollies are notorious for giving birth here and there... My optimistic side is hoping that more are to come and not that they disappeared.

I love a fish tank. My Dad had several fish tanks when I was growing up. I've had several, even a couple at a time. It's been many years since I had a tank, I've been thinking about starting one again.

It's been many years since I had a tank, I've been thinking about starting one again. My dad had a saltwater tank when I was young. I then had a freshwater then a saltwater tank during graduate school. I love saltwater tanks, but they are a ton of maintenance. I've been wanting a tank again for a couple of years now, and am really glad I went ahead and started one. Things have changed a bit with all the liquid water treatments and liquid good bacteria available now. And powerheads with under gravel filters are out. A lot of things came back to me, but I have also been learning a lot.

I share your love of aquariums. I have had a couple over the years. Mostly when my son was little. We used to spend hours with all the lights in the room off and just the dim light of the aquarium on, watching the fish and whatever else we had in the tank slowly moving about. It really calmed him when he was stressed out. His favorite were the African frogs. He loved how they swam like mad up to the top to gulp air, then floated spread-eagle like a parachute back down to the rocks.
Congratulations on your grandbabies!
