Just checking in on you all. I've been amazed at hearing people's complaints from all over the U.S. (with this heat) about how they're suffering with migraines. Yup, that's what we go through in FL for 9 months out of the year.
So, how is everyone doing??
MY UPDATE: I went today to my Pain Management doctor (I go every 3 months now). They did the usual: The nurse takes my bp, asks which meds I need Rx's for and asks about my pain/if anything changed. I told him that my pain increased immensely and I was in "migraine mode" at least 3x week. The doctor comes in... and after small talk and verifying my pain level and increased pain, he said he'd give me the SAME RX'S. WHAT??? I asked if we could try something else or switch something, increase something? Nope! He doesn't want me to "go to the next level of pain meds".
I brought up dropping my anti-depressant that was prescribed to ward off headpain. Obviously (even though they increased it to 50 mg), it's not working and I don't have depression. He agreed. He said, "I never prescribed that for you. Why are you still on it if it's not working?" HELLO! That's part of YOUR job as my pain mgmt doctor! He has all of my meds and all updates. You'd think he'd suggest coming off something that is obviously not working! Nope!
I also brought up medical marijuana. I'm reading more and more about it, specifically about brain and head injury patients, and it sounds effective for them (especially for children). He thinks it would "definitely" help and at least have me using less of my Rx's. He thinks I'd be able to function. It's not legal here in FL yet, but he basically was indicating that I should give it a try on my own......... I never smoked or used it and I can't smoke....... I'm just waiting for it to become legal for medicinal use here in FL, and then I'd definitely give it a try. For now, I'm on the same stupid meds, they're not effective enough to keep me from being bedridden far too often, and he has no answers. That's my bottom line. Pretty crappy, but I'm grateful that it's not life-threatening; just hard to deal with.

I've not been doing too badly, though this week has been kind of rough.
I am intrigued by the possibilities of medical marijuana, but I am too paranoid to try it until it is legal where I live. I do know of someone in a support group I am a member of who has done an incredible amount of research on th topic. It has made a world of difference in his life.

Pretty crappy, but I'm grateful that it's not life-threatening; just hard to deal with. I am right there with you. I get migraines so bad that they last for weeks sometimes months. I am allergic to the migraine meds and Nordics so I was screwed until Oregon legalized marijuana. It has taken me since last October to figure out what works for me. I have severe pain in my hips and lower back. I also have depression, anxiety, panic attacks, social phobia. I was to the point 5 years ago I couldn't walk into a grocery store with out panicking and leaving. I now can do anything. I have even gotten a job again and I haven't had one panic attack. My migraines are more under control now then they ever have been for all my life. I have had 1 triggered migraine but it didn't go into a full migraine and was gone in under 2 hours. I am no longer on any depression pills. Through therapy with an awesome counselor I have came along way. I would never have been able to leave the RAT BAT if I didn't start smoking marijuana. I was on so many different depression and anxiety pills that I lost count years ago. I can say that I feel different as well. I know I can do anything I put my mind to it. I mean I found and got a job with one interview ans one test drive in the van. 4 days after starting my job I hit a parked car because the brake calipers went out. and for all of you (like me) that didn't know what a caliper was it is the part that holds the brake pads that squeezes the pads on to the brake drum that stops the vehicle. Without them the van didn't stop. Even 1 year ago I would have started balling and I wouldn't have been able to handle the situation professionally and safely like I did. No I wasn't on marijuana while I was driving. I will never do that Nor have I or will I ever drive after drinking. But my changed mindset and with my fears under control I have been able to live a pretty normal life.

My pain is still giving me hell. I just keep counting my blessings and live for the lower pain days. We took a two week vacation and drove to Montana to visit my son and his family. I only had two completely bed ridden days in those two weeks from my Intractable Chronic Migraines and a few other days where I was in bed a few times each day so I felt pretty lucky!
I wish all of you days as free of pain as possible.

I just saw a paid dr for the first time since 2013. Same dr, but seeing him for different reasons now.
I am so limited in what meds I can take that I had been told by other doctors that I was just going to have to deal with it.
Long story short, I am now on the 25mcg Fentanyl patch. One every 3 days, though he okayed adding a 2nd patch on the 3rd day, if needed.
It's not my most favorite thing, to be on pain meds all the time. But since I'm not working and not driving, I may as well not be in so much pain, either. This doesn't take it all away, but at least knocks it down some. Better than nothing at all.

I'm a hot effing mess right now and they can't seem to find a combo that works effectively so I'm in bed half the day. Disaster.
Hoping the next appointment and med changes brings some relief, and grateful that I can work from bed when necessary

ETA.....Wow, when I started this NOVEL.....hee hee....the last poster was Dorimambear. typing alllll this out, plus cooking a bit and doing laundry made a lot of time go by! ((( hugs ))) to all of you that are posting, and those who are just reading----My sincere hugs & prayers! I know how hard it is!!! @bergdorfblond----Sorry you're still in so much pain---ugh! vspindler ----Sorry this week has been rougher on you.....for me, every day is totally different ! @dorimamabear----SO happy for you to have relief---that is AWESOME!!! What is a "RAT BAT?" I have also definitely considered marijuana; and if it ever becomes legal here, I am willing to try it !!! My various pain issues are about the same; some days I have hours of minimal or NO pain, and I obviously cherish those times!!! But it usually creeps back up from either overdoing it, or I make one small, wrong move, and ----WHOA!----the pain! It is SO annoying! For example, I was relaxing in the recliner, then I got up slowwwwly, as I always do---and I turned just a tiny bit, and ---WOW----the severe PAIN in my hip was unbelievable! My more recent problem of my hands hurting is sometimes VERY hard to deal with---talk about interfering with everyday tasks! I have cut WAY down on using my phone for anything---especially texting! Until this pain started about 8 months ago, I didn't realize how HEAVY that stupid phone actually is---well, it is when you hold it for a long time----And, I also realized any typing I did was with my thumb only----no WONDER my thumb was killing me! LOL! Since switching to laptop (hence, typing with both hands like a normal person---hee hee) for online things (like here, facebook, other sites), it has helped a lot. The times my hand(s) are really hurting; I try not to type at all. But aside from the obvious reasons for my hand pain (age, overuse!!!), what also troubles me is the sometimes veryyy painful tingling and numbness in my non-dominant hand. I'm planning to go to a rheumatologist and see what this is all about. I've been putting it off because of other doctor's appointments. physical therapy, and the HEAT have just done me in! Along with all of the pain issues, I recently had peri-rectal fistula surgery (fun times!!!), which has required many follow-ups with my surgeon for minor wound issues. He has had to cauterize the wound 3 times since the surgery----omg, the pain !!!!!! Sooo, you can see why I just have NOT had the energy to go to a whole new doctor, get all new tests, blah blah blah....but I will. For my hip (arthritis, bone spurs, and bursitis), I had my second fluroscopic steroid injection a few weeks ago, and it has helped a bit, and is lasting a bit longer than my last one in February; so I'm very grateful !!! The last injection gave me one month of relief; and as many of you know, SOME people get up to a YEAR of relief----I wish I was one of those people! My dear friend has my same hip issues, and she also had relief for about a year from a steroid injection. I asked peAple on here one time about how long their relief was; and there were many different answers. The hardest decision I need to make in the near future is which surgery to have first,.....the left hip, or the right foot....the foot recovery is going to be MUCH harder, I think. The REALLY hard part is going to be how I'm going to manage the non-weight bearing part for alllll those weeks. Not to mention, getting up from chair, bed, and putting lots of weight onto my poor HANDS to use a walker / wheelchair!?!?! My wonderful, awesome physical therapist tries to encourage me and says I can get a walker that has hand/arm supports----so there's some good news Oh, I just remembered---a GREAT thing! I've lost 19 pounds thus far!!! Obviously, I realize that EVERY extra pound I carry just adds to the stress of my poor joints! I'm also going to start swimming laps at the Y again-----I couldn't swim for quite a while because of my fistula wound problems....arrrghhh! I also keep "MEANING" to go to Yoga----I know it'd be awesome !!! I mentioned a plant called "Kratom" that is used for pain relief, energy increase, better sleep, and some use it to help them overcome addiction to pain meds/ it has supposedly also helped former heroin addicts. I've mentioned it here before on diffferent threads; some of you maybe haven't seen those. It helps me a bit with my pain, and sometimes helps my energy level----but it depends on how bad the pain is that day. Bergorf--- I don't know if you / your pain mgmt doctor would want you to consider it, but it is illegal in about 6 (?) states, and I *think* Florida is one of them. But aside from that, it shouldn't be taken with opiates and/or some other meds, so I don't know if any of you are interested in trying it, but I wanted to mention it again. I've told 2 of my doctors that I take it, and I wasn't surprized that neither of them have heard of it. If anyone is interested, I highly recommend you check out the American Kratom Association website. They show all the latest news (which, infortunately, most is negative), but you can read peoples' testimonies. I believe what those people write, because I have been helped a lot by Kratom, too! I hope it doesn't become illegal in any more states! UGH! On the really bad days of pain, I take 7.5 Norco--- it BARELY touches my pain. I feel less pain by icing my foot / heating my hip, and taking Kratom (word of caution---it tastes HORRIBLE!!!----I mix it in sugar-free applesauce or Greek yogurt). Ugh, there are times it is all just TOOO overwhelming and I feel hopeless. I keep thinking a counselor would be good to talk with. I mainly want help in getting over the grieving of how active I used to be, I miss the 12- hour shifts I used to work, and I've always LOVED being on my feet.....Thank the Good Lord, the hopelessness has decreased a LOT! I am also thankful for prayer---I know it helps, and I have a lot of sweet family and friends praying for me. I have also recently gone to chronic pain websites to commiserate with others who know what it's like. Anyway.....((( hugs )))) & prayers to all of you!

I forgot to add, I have an appoint for a consultation about Botox injections for my migraines next week. I'm not sure it's an avenue I want to go down but will happily go and learn more about it and be evaluated by the pain clinic doctor to see if I'm even a candidate.

I have a TON of sympathy for chronic migraine sufferers!!! I cannot even imagine! I hope that Botox works for you, happymomma!!!
I get some BAD sinus headaches (especially before it rains----OMG!!), and I can barely handle those-----that is why I have the utmost sympathy for migraine sufferers----I have a few close friends that have them......those damn headaches are just debilitating, aren't they?? (( hugs ))
P.S....have any of you who suffer migraines tried chiropractic? Two close friends of mine have ben helped A LOT by it! They both go regularly---one of them hasn't had a migraine in years, and one gets them a lot less now; but she also says changing her diet to Paleo is also a factor.

I have also read a few books on chronic pain---some of them werent' great, but I'm liking this one so far. The other day, when my hip, foot, hands were hurting a lot, PLUS, I had a sinus headache, I was just DONE. In this book, he mentions trying Qigong exercises----I admit, the deeep breathing and stretching DID help a bit. Not necessarily the PAIN, but it calmed me down so I could handle it better......I get so TENSE and uptight when I'm in pain, plus I'm a naturally high-energy person, so I REALLLLLY need to remember to calm down and breeeathe!!! (I went to youtube to learn a few easy ones). This author claims that MANY patients have gone from an average pain level of 7.5 to around 0.5. He also claims many of his patients have been able to stop using wheelchairs. I got this from the LIBRARY-----I say that because I like to get LOTS of different books, and I refuse to pay for them if they're crap! LOL! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyone who's interested, it's called "Conquer Chronic Pain : An innovative Mind-Body Approach" by Peter Przekop, D.O. phD I just got this one today and have not read any yet, but we'll see if it helps: "Paintracking: Your personal guide to living well with chronic pain" by Deborah Barrett

I don't personally suffer from chronic pain, but my DH does. He's been going to a Pain Mgmt doctor for years and it's a freaking joke. He's treated like a drug-seeker even though he has an obviously painful disability that he's had since childhood. Like you, @bergdorfblonde, DH goes every 3 months and gets the same routine with questions and the Dr refusing to increase/change his meds. Won't even discuss alternatives treatments. It's maddening. DH has learned to just deal with it and not push himself too hard, but you can see it in eyes. The pain and the frustration of not being able to do things or some days not even function at all. It breaks my heart and I feel for everyone who deals with chronic pain. L

OMG... hugs and prayers to everyone on this thread, enduring the pain we have to handle........... I can't remember 1 day, 1 moment without being in pain. My pain began with my "accident" at age 13, and I honestly don't remember life before that immense, daily, chronic, severe pain. Sad, huh? With time though, it gets worse, but I'm grateful that I don't get overwhelmed or depressed by it. I've been strong enough to try to hide it and get through work days. I come home and fall apart.
scrappintoee : You spoke about migraines and sinus pain and how you have sympathy for those of us who have it. When I was told that I had silicone beads of my implant that fell to the orbital floor and were pressing on my sinus nerves, my surgeon didn't know how I was walking around!! Yeah, it's that bad! He relieved it for a bit with surgery (last year), but I feel that it's happening again, and as you said in another post, I don't even want to think of which doctor/surgeon to go to and which surgery to do first. I can't face that yet, as I feel that I didn't even recover from my surgery in 03/2015! Also, I didn't remember about kratom, but I will check it out. I have a little black book and I keep notes in it now for suggestions, meds, etc....... Thank you! Prayers to you for dealing with all of your pain, and, btw, I do know how heavy a phone can be after being on it all day for work (landline phones). Using speakerphone or bluetooth is so much easier on my eyes. Glad you made that connection.
happymomma : Good luck with the Botox appt! I saw a commercial for the migraine/Botox after I got home from my pain doctor. He's never mentioned Botox to me, and I'm beginning to think that I'm just going there to pick up my normal Rx's that I can't get from my PCP because they're flagged. I got Juverderm (sp??) once in the past year for surgery purposes and it didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought, if that helps......... I got shots all along my upper eyelid, and he had extra and asked if I wanted to do my lips, so I did (I know... unethical, but he was a cool surgeon). Please let us know if the Botox relieves your pain. That would be a miracle. Good luck!
StephDRebel : No wonder you haven't updated *that* thread. Hugs to you. I hope you can feel better soon and get back on your feet. Hope you have help with the kids.
scrapsuzy : Hugs to you too. You sound like you're where I'm at. I'm on generic Fioricet (butalb/caff/acet/codeine) and tried morphine and Maxalt for my "rescue" meds. I was also on an antidepressant to ward off headaches to begin with, but that didn't work either. My meds are fine for me to take and drive and work. If I lie down when I take them, I'll fall asleep, but if I'm moving around, then it justtttttttt takes the edge off, like you said. They won't give me stronger meds. It sucks to live in pain. I'm so sorry.
Dori~Mama~Bear : I'm SO glad that you're getting relief!! It's a funny thing that scientists and doctors are just now sorting through different types of marijuana to see what kind would help different types of pain. I can't smoke (lung issues), so I'd love to try the drops that I keep hearing about. The doctors use them even on children to help with brain and pain issues. Glad to know it's helped you across the board with anxiety, etc. That's amazing! My biggest worry with pot was not knowing if it would (A) help my specific pain, (B) allow me to work, drive, think clearly, function. I kinda like being hyper and on the ball all of the time with no caffeine (other than my 6 pills/day), so I'd fear being "foggy". But, DH really wants to bring me to a State that it's legal in, just to try it for a week and see if it would help.
vspindler : I'm sorry your week was rough. Hugs to you. I hope you have a better week ahead. I feel like you do about the marijuana issue. I've never done it before, and of course we moved to a State that it's not legal in........ I won't smoke it and I don't trust it from a local drug dealer, so I'll wait until I could figure it out. Fill us in if you hear more about the topic though, please.
Hugs and prayers to all of the "pain Peas". It's such a terrible thing to live in pain and the levels are so variable. I hear a common thread with all of us though---we're grateful for bearable days and for many things and we're all so very strong.

My DH comes with me to most of my appts, and sometimes I worry more about him because he's 14 years older than I am (he's 70 and I'm 55) and he gets so sad to see me in pain. What you said was so extremely fitting, and it made me tear up! I DO get frustrated and heartbroken sometimes but I'm a strong person and I don't usually break down in front of anyone (except my cats). You're a caring wife, and I'm sure that your husband appreciates your compassion.

@bergdorfblond----Thank you for your support, I give it right back to you! ((( hugs ))) Annnd, the fact that you sound like you have MUCH worse pain than I do, yet you still WORK? Wow !!! I wish you didn't have to, but kudos to you! Actually, this is kinda ironic----I WANT to work again; I've worked all my life since I was 16, and I MISS it !!! I am SO blessed that I don't HAVE to; but that extra income was always sweeeet--!!! Well, lo and behold; I found a non-profit that helps people with disabilities, (and they include CHRONIC PAIN on their website!) to find work that can accomodate these issues. Yeaaaa, and they keep telling me about possible jobs, yet I haven't had a single interview.....OMG, I can't believe that only 3 years ago, I was on my feet from 8-14 hours a day at work, and I (mostly!) loved it !!! Also---on what you said about silcone beads pressing on your sinuses from your implant-----Can you explain the implant part? That is----what type of implant was it that it was so close to your sinuses? Ugh, I HOPE it's not coming back again, as you said. @bumpea----So sorry about your husband! I am blessed with a caring, kind hubby, but there are times I just do not want to say anything, or moreso---show in my body language that I'm in a lot of pain. So I try to be strong (sometimes!!), as to not feel like a burden. We went to a very special dinner for our anniversary Saturday, and thank God, I was NOT in a lot of pain at the time; but even IF I had been, I told myself to try and ignore it and NOT talk about it, at least until after we left the restaurant. We DID have a lovely dinner, but as we were leaving the restaurant, I could barely walk from sitting so long.....so there went my plan to ignore it and not say anything Sorry about his Pain doctor, too....It's interesting what you said about not considering anything alternative. I tried a pain mgmt specialist last summer who was not only Board Certified, but he ALSO the only MD I've ever seen who was also certified/ (licensed?)...whatever the term is) .....for ACCUPUNCTURE....(and other potentially great things that his website listed). .I was SO excited to try it, (and anything and everything else besides meds that may not work!) Well, after waiting and hoping, I finally got in to see him. Sadly, he said he no longer performed accupuncture. Okayyyy.... that was fine, but I was bummed. But then he ended up not being good at ANYthing...honestly, I couldn't believe how, after ALL the paperwork I'd had to fill out, which included a drawing of a body, back and front, where you make marks on every place you have pain, plus you describe what KIND of pain, etc.....After ALL of that, plus talking with him for a long time on the first visit, he seemed totally disorganized on my second visit; asked me all kinds of questions, asked when my last MRIs were, etc...when it was all available to him on his computer right next to him? Anyway, I haven't since even considered a pain mgmt. doctor......maybe I'll try again, I don't know. Anyway, (( hugs )) & prayers for you and your hubby!!!

For anyone wanting to know the U.S. states where Kratom is illegal : (per American Kratom Association) Arkansas, Alabama, Indiana, Tennessee, Wisconsin and...... this is SO random, @bergdorfblonde ---it is legal in all of Florida *EXCEPT* for Sarasota County..... It is also illegal in: Australia, Burma, Malaysia**, and Thailand** **those are 2 countries where it's grown, and I've read that it's been used for hundreds of years, and the REASON it's illegal there is because the opium makers were tired of losing money. Just as our FDA seems very threatend by it.

Actually, right now I'm 1 day short of my Rx and I'll be in even more pain for the next 1-2 days. Can't stand to even think of it or what I'll do to counteract that pain....... but this sounds interesting. I'm not in Sarasota County (I'm a bit more north of there), so it should be available here, I hope.......

scrappintoee if you are considering hip replacement, go for it sooner rather than later. I put it off for way too long as I had never had any type of surgery and it scared the crap out of me. I was in constant pain for two years and didn't walk at all for over a year. I came out of surgery with absolutely no pain. By twelve weeks after surgery I was climbing a ladder painting my kitchen. Total hip replacement is truly miracle surgery.

femalebusiness ......SO happy you had success and are pain-free! My doctor was hoping I wouldn't need a replacement for about 8 more years; but since my recent xrays-------not so much! Ugh, and those ugly bone spurs all over the bones--- plus, bursitis----no wonder it hurts so much! I'm skeeered to have surgery, but it needs to be done! Thank you for the encouragement! I've had 2 orthopedic doctors say they don't know WHY my arthritis is as advanced as it is for my age. On a positive note, I wanted to add that I'm blessed with a good sense of humor, which helps a LOT! My dear, fun 85-year-old Dad recently came for a long visit, and I know it hurt his heart to see me in so much pain. Sometimes I'd hug him and briefly wallow in my misery, and he was very sweet. He took nice brisk walks in the morning, and I wished I could've joined him like I used to. Thank God, we're both nutty and silly and sometimes made jokes about it. On my bad HAND days, he'd help me reach things,etc.....I think he was kinda shocked at the bad days when I couldn't can't even open a package of cheese, but---again, we sometimes made jokes about it, which helps. I COULD be miserable and sad all the time, but I refuse to give into it 24/7 !!! He and I are similar in that we like being independent and don't like asking for help. I am honestly SO SO happy for him that at age 85, he has no pain issues!!!

I'm still here. They updated my paid meds a bout a month ago because I was in the process of having surgery. But still no surgery scheduled. So that increases anxiety, which increases pain. Add in my allergies smacking me in the face yesterday and I'm a mess. But I'm trying to do things that ground me daily. Like crocheting.

Ugh....I just need to vent about something that makes me SO SO mad !!! I took the loveliest bath; soaked allll those painful joints and muscles ----hot water, plain epsom salts, and a bit of a "pain relieving" blend of epsom salts that also smells heavenly !!!!!! (peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, etc) Felt SO great during and after the bath, read a good book, slept like a baby-----life was good. I prayed for everyone out there in pain, and I also wish everyone had a whirlpool tub like I am so blessed to have! After 7 hours of lovely sleep, I wake up and not only am I in MORE pain than usual, there are joints hurting that don't normally hurt, such as----both ankles !!!!!!!!!!!! And my poor HANDS hurt more then EVER What the @?#?#? Omg, I couldn't believe it, it took all I had not to have a meltdown !!!!!!!

My jaw pain is nothing of it's former self. Today I have pain in both sides and it is making me lose my mind. It aches so much and nothing is calming it down. I need some relief. Like NOW. I am grinding my teeth and I will break another one if I am not careful. I have already broken one and I have loosened another one. My new teeth help. They do as yesterday was a pain free day. Today I am losing my mind. I wish something would ease this pain.
My pain is nothing like you ladies go through. Mine is just an annoyance compared to yours It is my annoyance, though.

I forgot to add, I have an appoint for a consultation about Botox injections for my migraines next week. I'm not sure it's an avenue I want to go down but will happily go and learn more about it and be evaluated by the pain clinic doctor to see if I'm even a candidate. I have been having Botox every 12 weeks for 3.5 years. It has made a HUGE difference to my life and I highly recommend anyone with chronic migraine to give it a go. It noticed the difference in the first treatment but it was after the second that it was markedly decreased. I was assessed in the beginning as having headache or migraine on 64% of days in the month, it is now around the 10% mark. I have very few side effects, very occasionally a tiny raised lump on the injection site or feeling a bit off afterwards but nothing major.
Good luck with your consultation, make sure you update us.

Hi....I MUST share an anger-causing, yet **almost** funny thing that happened to me yesterday. I wear awesome wrist/ thumb splints** on one or both hands, depending on what PAIN and/or NUMBNESS they decide to torture me with. As most of you with chronic pain of any kind; I'm assuming most of you experience varying pain levels day-to-day, or, sometimes it changes hour-to-hour, doesn't it? Arrgh! Sooo, I was attempting to take them off yesterday; but --irony alert----the OTHER hand I was trying to use to take it off hurt SO much, I was almost unable to unstrap the strong Velcro straps to take it off....I wanted them OFF so that I could wash them---Ohh, I was mad , but then I took a deeep breath and decided I could look at this in a humorous way. I also knew if I shared this with other pain peAple, you'd TOTALLLLY relate I'm still trying to deal with (and NOT lose my temper!!! ) when I'm unable to open thin plastic bags with seals (such as cheeses, and just a few minutes ago, my doggies' treat bag)...Arrghhh!! I am also struggling with how HARD it is to cook and bake sometimes...something I've always loved! Howeverrrrr; I have discovered that SITTING makes it way less pain-inducing! Sheesh.....just now, I was chopping all kinds of gorgeous veggies to make a salad, forgot to SIT while doing it, and now my joints are "talkin' to me" ---they are PISSED! My joints: "whyyyy didn't you SIT to do all that chopping and prepping?" Me: "ugh....because this is NEW to me, and I am NOT used to sitting while cooking, so go away and leave me alone!!!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyhooo......you're all in my prayers and thoughts!!! ((( hugs )))) to all of ya! I'd enjoy hearing about how y'all are doing!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **P.S....if you're interested in a VERY good brace that not only helps hand & wrist; but ALSO has a separate thingee to hold/ support your thumb, it's made by 'Mueller', and I grabbed it at WallyWorld. Sometimes, just my THUMBS hurt, so I love that the cute little thumb holder is adjustable for tightness, but ALSO---you can adjust the angle at which your thumb rests. To me, that extra thumb thing is a total Godsend!!! I am SO thankful for them! I also have one of their knee splints, which---thank God, I only need occasionally (thus far!) If I ever met the Mueller person/ family/ or whoever designed these, I would thank them profusely!!! Also, if ANYone is actually reading this far---- ---I also found some gloves for my hands that I highly recommend; I just enjoy the firm support of my hands; I don't necessarily believe in their claims about copper! They're in the "As Seen on TV" sections of stores, and they're called "Copper Gloves" ......I have to say, I LOVE the hand ones; but I tried their ankle and knee sleeves, and they were loose and ineffectual....I promptly returned them for a refund!

I'm sorry you are having pain. I often get migraines with allergies and colds, among many other triggers.
I just started Botox shots in my head for migraines. I was getting 3-4/week and, since the shots last month, I've had zero headaches. I'm so grateful.
