Anyone hitting the worlds longest yard sale this weekend? Hwy 127 from Michigan to Alabama. It goes thru my hometown, Russell Springs, Ky. We went maybe 8 miles today. Very hot and humid.
I bought some antique keys, costume jewelry, and a hollister shirt for DD that still had tags on it.

I saw tons of antique Pyrex stuff. Made me think of the peas. My DD loved a set of aqua mixing bowls but I wasn't about to pay $150 for them.

I'd love to go, but it's too far away.

Unfortunately I have to go thru it to vote tomorrow. It is a nightmare on a little two lane road that is super busy when the yard sale is not going on. People park wanky and their cars stick out in the road. They also walk out in front of you. I know it's a big deal to some but we will be glad when it is over. It wouldn't be so bad if it was on a highway with more room.

It's the first weekend that includes Thursday-Sunday, does that make sense? Like it didn't start last weekend because the first was on Friday. Although people have been set up for a week or more in some places.

I would love to see them. I have on a necklace today that I got from Etsy that's an antique skeleton key with copper wire wrapped decoratively around it. I love that thing!!!

Sounds like a fun experience. I'm sure I should definitely stay way far away since I am working on getting rid of "stuff" rather than buying more. But it would be interesting.

127 is only about 45 minutes from my house but I'm not sure I would brave the stop and start traffic!

They look shiny in the pic but they are pretty rusty. I got 20 for $12. They were asking $1 each. My pillow isn't that dirty. It's rust off the keys.

Not a definite plan but I just redecorated my living room with keys so I'm sure they'll find a spot in there somewhere.

I don't know, I'm a crappy garage-saler, can never find anything or find something and think it's ridiculously overpriced for a garage sale I'm only about 10min from 127 in NW Ohio/SE Michigan so maybe. I went to the Rt 120 garage sale a few years ago, it supposedly goes 100 miles thru Ohio/Indiana.....I drove about an hour of it and stopped twice I think, there were hardly any sales. Maybe the Hwy 127 one is better.

I heard about this garage sale right after it ended one year. We lived in Ohio at the time, and we moved away before the next one rolled around. I was very disappointed. I would have loved to go to it.
With the exception of when we lived in DE and there was a big neighborhood yard sale we went to, everywhere I have lived have had pretty sucky yard sales. Unless I was interested in baby clothes and junky outdoor play toys. (I'm not)

I went 2 years ago in TN, GA and AL and it was awesome. I was hoping to go in OH this year but the schedule did not work out. Up in the mountains on the GA/AL line, we came across a guy selling every kind of gun you could imagine. He even had a cannon. He looked like Uncle Jesse from Dukes of Hazzard and wore blue jean overalls with no shirt. It was like every cliche in one place. I was too scared to take a picture though.

It sounds like it would be fun to check out, but the traffic on the way would drive me insane! I'm from a small town in TX that has a HUGE flea market the first weekend that includes a Monday every month, strangely enough called First Monday. I hated all the extra traffic and crazy people that would just walk out in front of you with out looking. I would not go into town on those weekends.

I've always wondered how the sale was. I would love to go if someone else was driving. I'm not keen on people parking crazy.
That's a nice assortment of keys that you got.
I'm curious if it seems more like professional dealers or regular families selling and how the prices are (minus the bowls of course).
I've also wondered if people drag the same stuff out again and again because they think they'll sell it eventually.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm nowhere near Hwy 127, but I would love to go some year. So would I. Roadtrip!!! The Houston Peas on the Road. I can see it now, so much fun, mayhem and madness that it becomes a blockbuster movie! Hwy. 127 would never be the same!!!

It wouldn't be so bad if it was on a highway with more room. It's not my favorite time of the year. It goes through the town I live in. I'm not a garage saler/antiquer so I don't go but I can tell you the traffic is idiotic that weekend.

The farthest I have gone is around 80 miles. Traffic is horrible. I can't imagine even trying to do the whole 690 miles.
