As an example- I am not a dog person, so I know I won't open threads about dogs. Is there a way to delete threads that I'm not interested in, so I won't have to keep scrolling through them? TIA
ETA- To clarify, I'd like to declutter and clean things up, like a personalized message board. That would be cool. I am totally capable of hanging out on this board. Thank you very much.
As a side note, I was bit by a dog when 8 years old and have a terrible scar.

It would probably be best for your own welfare to read the dog threads and learn why embracing dogs is such a fabulous choice!

Deleting a thread takes it off the board so no one can see it. Only the person who started the thread can do that. If you're unable to scroll past threads perhaps this board isn't for you.

I have never seen a message board that allows people to make actual thread invisible to themselves. People, yes, but not threads.

Not deleting, but you can choose to put a check mark to the left of threads you're not interested in. Then go to ACTIONS and choose "Mark as read," and then choose "Forever." From then on, those threads will have a check to the left, which might make it easier to scan when scrolling.
I didn't get the impression that you were saying you can't bear to even see the thread title, right? You're just trying to find a way to personalize your choices?
ETA: Wait, I was wrong. The check mark doesn't stay. Instead, the marked threads will never say "New" to the left anymore. (Hadn't tried it in a few weeks, and forgot how it worked.)

Thanks for the suggestion. So in essence, I can scroll past the ones that have the check mark which may make it easier.

No I have never seen a message board feature like that. Honestly I am sorry you have issues with dogs but if just seeing it in a title is so bad maybe you could use some counseling. You can't control what you see in life.
Eta: Dogs, babies, pizza, life, death, politics, whatever. This message board will have all topics. That is what makes it what it is.

Another example.... I don't live in California, so I do not know the prices of things there..... can I delete the thread or find a way to tag the post so I can ignore it... why do you guys read so much into things? It's a simple request. Do I need to give another example or am I expecting too much? Is there an IGNORE button for threads?? How else can I word this? Am I not being clear?
Just tell me no, you can not do this, it is not possible.

Just skip over what doesn't interest you. I don't have young kids, I don't bake, I don't watch DWTS, etc. I just scroll past those. There isn't a way to delete a thread to suit your interests if that's what you mean. PS: Dogs rule...this is from a former cat lover. No, you can not do this, it is not possible. BUT...you really should reconsider dogs.

No. This is wrong. Only the admin can delete a thread. Posters can delete their individual posts. They cannot delete a thread even of they start it. Obviously. Both here and at the pod OPs sometimes delete their post when a thread doesn't go their way. You still see the thread and open the thread, but the first post is missing. Think about it.

Do you think you would be interested in a feature that would do that? I prefer to have all of the threads visible for multiple reasons. I like knowing if it's a page 1 thread or a page 3 thread, for instance, and if I deleted threads, I would alter that. The only feature I miss is having the thread font change color after you've read it so that you know you've seen it already, because sometimes I just can't remember which I've already seen.

I understood what you meant. So, as an experiment, I just scrolled through the first page of threads, check-marking all but six threads and then marking them as "read forever." It DID result in something that was easy to visually scan, but you'd have to remember to do it very time you visit. Perhaps tedious or unwieldy; perhaps not. Give it a try. ETA: Oh, c'mon! Aren't you itchin' to open "Dog people: teaching a dog to speak on command"

Yes, I think I am missing the font color change. It's something, because I spend time scrolling through t h e same threads that I don't want to read.

It's an interesting problem, I'm always reading on phone or pad so "space" is a premium. I deal with it, but wish I'd been clever enough to think outside the box and think about possibilities- good imagination OP!

Sorry.... no, no dogs for me. (Soup Nazi reference). I am sorry I do not want to pick up any more poop in my life, from any pets... maybe future grandkids.

I know how it was on the pod, but I thought I remember someone saying when this board started that OPs can delete their own thread because there was a duplicate once.
