I recently bought a 6x6 paper pad of Crate Paper's Little Boy Blue (found it at my grocery store...score!) and liked it so well I went looking for the 12x12 paper which is now retired. I just found it on ebay and I realize I am overpaying but sometimes you just gotta have it. When I looked at my daughter's baby pictures she wore a lot of yellow and light blue which goes great with that line plus I love the old fashioned feel to it. I stepped away from scrapbooking from about 2010-2014 because of a new baby and moving and I know that the Little Boy Blue line came out during that time so I am happy to have found it on ebay. I have one order coming yet I bought at the ACOT Labor Day sale and then I really need to stop buying and work on that baby album! I probably will have enough stuff to make baby albums for all the Duggar kids too, I think I bought some of every baby line out there.

I tracked down on ebay and paid little more than I should for a spellbinders set. I owned the scalloped banners (they are triangles) but needed the non scalloped to complete the set. Well took me a month or 2 to find them but sure enough they came up and we'll I paid for them. But I have my set

Yes I took a 6 year break from scrapping. When I returned I realized that I missed out on lots of great products. I tracked a lot of them down and probably overpaid but I love my scrap treasures!

Yes! I found one sheet of this bo bunny Christmas paper at my lss and had to have all of it. I ended up going directly to the source to get it, so I didn't overpay, just paid regular retail. But yes I know that feeling!

All.the.time! I think that's about 50% of my scrappy shopping. It's the thrill of the hunt.

Yup. Certain long Retired Basic Grey paper packs and Chatterbox paper! Chatterbox was my favorite scrapbook paper of all time and I'm still using it on pages today. I was thrilled to find some of it at TM earlier this year. It's nearly 10 years since they stopped production, I think. Now just need more time to create!

I have not done that lately, but I have tracked down a retired Basic Grey paper pack before. Found it on eBay.

Well if any of you find the Jenni Bowlin tab punch or October Afternoon Good Cheer(has a vintage looking snowman) stamp set please keep me in mind. I have been searching for those 2 items forever.

Half of my scrap shopping involves searching. When I get a warehouse box, I like to see if I can find more of the line to make several layouts. When I find something I like (new), I usually buy so much of it so I don't have this problem.

Heck yes! I am guilty of doing this all the time. In fact, I just placed a big order yesterday...all old retired collections. I was going through my stash recently and found half of the Farmhouse Fair Skies collection...unfortunately, I owned the half of the collection that I didn't like as much as the half I didn't own. Happily though I managed to track it down. This did mean paying a killer exchange rate and international shipping, but I am so happy to have the rest of the collection. Now I can happily use the papers in my stash...and it only cost me $65

This did mean paying a killer exchange rate and international shipping, but I am so happy to have the rest of the collection I have noticed when searching for older retired product I will find it at stores in other countries, but I haven't had to go that route....YET. And I am so proud of myself cuz I got my ebay package today and I made a page with it tonight, I am the world's slowest scrapbooker but the pattern on the paper was so cute I didn't have to do much but add pictures so it didn't take me long. Hopefully this is the start of a scrapbooking roll...

a few months ago I bought the entire teresa collins nine & co. collection on ebay. it came out while I was on a scrappy hiatus. I saw a page somewhere using it and BOOM! had to have it of course, I haven't actually used it yet...but that's another story.

LOL! Yes! Exactly this. I can regularly find missing products all over the US and UK...nothing here in Canada though.
Congratulations on your scrapbooking accomplishment. May it be the start of a really good run of layouts. (Btw, still laughing at your comment about making albums for the Duggars!)

I'm with you I've been out of SB touch since 2010, I even missed 2peas closing. Now I'm back and hunting stuff on eBay.

Heidi Swapp Believe Ephemera.
That was a golden unicorn...the line came out when she sold to American Crafts but Heidi Swapp/Pink Paislee manufactured the line so there were no subsequent reorders due to the timing of it all. It was 25% off at Archivers (I had none here and never actually got to step foot in one) but their shipping started at more than the ephemera. It ended up costing me around $13. 2 hours later, I got a return call from Heidi Swapp's customer service people saying they had a few...so to balance the cost of the first package, I bought a second set at regular retail. Shipping was under $1.50 so it was negligible. I still use it every year...sparingly.
They ended up doing a giveaway with the 2 packs they had left the next day...my call must have gotten them searching...so 2 other people got to benefit from me obsessively tracking it down.

I blame Pinterest. I'm just a card maker right now, but searching for inspiration seems to *always* lead me to blogs or older posts from years ago. That usually means the rubber stamps and/or dies are long discontinued, or were "freebies" from Bristish card making magazines. My latest obsession, errrr - search, is for a Sizzix Big Shot NOEL Die (with 2 of the letters stacked on top of each other). I keep seeing cards made with the die, but I can't find the die anywhere. Not even in a differed country. (Yes, I do that, too!). LOL I need to see if I can't find a cut file for the Silhouette Cameo or Circut Explore, but I'm too busy looking for the die. Haha

Yes! American Crafts "Hot Cocoa". I found 2 12x12 paper pads on Amazon. The price was actually pretty good.

Yes! I used to track down retired stamp sets from Stampin Up! Ebay was my friend. Luckily, they were usually available since Stampin Up! is pretty popular.

All.the.time! I think that's about 50% of my scrappy shopping. It's the thrill of the hunt. Yup me too! my most recent search was for the Jumbo Basic Grey Bookplates that were discontinued years ago. I found some on Etsy.
my usual go-to place for discontinued stuff is Ebay. recently I was searching for some 7 Gypsies stuff and when I found some, I bought them all up so I didn't have to keep paying for shipping if I bought them one by one.

The companion line to Little Boy Blue is my unicorn. It's called Little Bo Peep. It was released about 1 1/2 years before my little girl was born. So it was getting scarce when I realized. I wanted it for her baby album. I bought bits and pieces as I found them.
American Crafts did reprint both lines in 6x6 pads and I bought them. And I bought some embellishments at Tuesday morning. I found some acetate pieces about a year ago.

I had to have Cranberry Crisp Stampin Up ink. I couldn't buy it new because it was too expensive so I waited until years later and saw someone selling it and bought it. Yeah. Ask me how often I have used that colour.

Oh heck K & Company made these really cool epoxy stickers that I saw on a layout at the LSS and I had to get them. I HAD to get them they are that cool. So I ordered 2 sets from dMarie because you couldn't just order one set of stickers and there was nothing else I wanted. So I got 2 sets. I mean I love these stickers.
I went to Michaels and they had them there, too. I had to get 3 more packages of them because they are that cool.
I wish I were making this up.

I will sometimes feel a strong pull to do this, but then I remind myself that I have LOTS of COOL stuff already, and sometimes you just gotta let the big one get away... If I see a line I missed out on later at Winners or somewhere I will snap it up, for sure, but have never gone on a targeted search. Like 950nancy said, when I DO find a line I like, I buy LOTS of it, so I always have options for any project I want to take on.
