Anyone have any suggestions for a good base coat or do you feel they are all the same? I currently use a Zoya base coat, but I was just wondering if there is anything great out there I'm missing.
This week is homecoming which is huge in Texas (anyone want to see mum pics?). So, I painted my nails for homecoming. Our colors are black and gold (which is usually really yellow). My students loved them.
So what's on your nails?

Just my toes are painted and it is a bright pink and I love it. It is by OPI. Could be Strawberry Margarita and it's adorable. My toes look great in fact. They didn't when I painted them, but the cuticles that had polish on the sides wore off right away and they look perfect right now. Fingernails are a mess. They keep breaking every single day. That is they keep peeling apart.

I just redid mine today. OPI "having a big head day" (red) and my "my boyfriend scales walls" (white) with a Bucky Badger nail sticker on the white nail. I still have to clean them up or I'd post a picture. But my nails coordinate with my avatar now lol! now with photo

I have CND Vinyl Oxblood on my nails. I went to the Spa on vacation and while there got my nails done. I am pleasantly surprised how well it has worn on my nails.

I have been using Nailtiques Formula 2 for several years. Expensive but well worth it. Lasts and does not get thick. I use Out the Door Topcoat. Inexpensive and fabulous. Currently wearing OPI Yank My Doodle. Great Fall color and fabulous formula.

What do you do if your nails constantly split? There is always a chunk missing from my nail no matter what I do. It's like they are too dry or something. Any advice? I don't want them to grow any longer because I will just cut them. I like short nails, but the splitting is getting annoying!

I went for a mani/ped yesterday with a brand I wasn't familiar with. My toes are a dark cherry red, very nice but my fingers...not so much. It was supposed to be a dusky pinky beige but its rather too bright. The lighting was odd and i swear it looks pretty different at home!

I have 6 days off so I just painted mine last night OPI My Little Petunia which is great shade of medium purple: and Butter London Black Knight on my ring finger accent nail:
I've been wearing a lot of light pink and beige recently so it's great to have some colour again!

Essie's After School Boy Blazer (a dark navy blue) on my fingers. My toenails are naked at the moment. Not for long, though.

My nails are a messing. I broke many of them painting, the ones that aren't broken have splits or chips and there are a couple stubborn spots of primer that don't want to come off. I'm hoping to have time to fix them up this evening, I'll likely choose a sparkly teal color.
