By the time I got home from work the Precision Press was sold out. I really wasn't interested in the stamps and ink that came in their package, so I'll just wait until I can get it at Michaels with a coupon or pick it up on Amazon.

What was the issue with the company selling the misti? I bought one last year and I use it often. It's one of the best tools I bought.

I ordered the WRMK Precision Press. From what I saw, you can stamp on larger pieces of paper, because one end is flat. The paper can hang over the edge. In any case, 6 x 6 should be plenty big enough for what I need. I wouldn't give the owner of the MISTI any of my business, because I think she's a big bully. Also, the price of the WRMK press was much better and included 5 sets of stamps and 6 inkpads.

I'm definitely going to get the WRMK Precision Press over the Misti now. Too bad I missed it on HSN!

I could see how she could be upset with her design being copied. She should have been on hsn long ago.

Was the HSN package immediately available or a preorder? I didn't get it cuz I wasn't interested in the stamps or ink but now I'm kicking myself for not getting it if I didn't have to wait until November, when the ACOT one I ordered comes in.

If so then there is a problem with the patent laws. It seems like only the big guys with bucks can fight infringements.

Fiskars has a patent for its stamp press - the one with the foam feet that you push down on.

I think Gutenberg beat her out by a few hundred years, or Letterpress by a dozen.

As I understand it, a 'design patent' can be obtained if someone has 'invented any new, original and ornamental design for an article of manufacture' - so even if you can't patent the function, it may still be possible to protect the physical description. This is what Fiskar's has for its Stamp Press. Link to Patent Office file.

I got the WRMK precision press. The stamps are considerably thinner and flimsy. The ink is really weird. It's really thick and wet. Is that from their type cast set? After it dries, it still smears like chalk. I don't think I have an issue with the board but I don't have a MISTI to compare it too. I did feel that having grooves as guidelines on the stamping area is weird. No full contact.
I just placed an order for the stampoholic version after reading that long thread.

What do you mean no full contact? The paper doesn't sit flat? It looks to me like it's beveled like the scor-pal. Is it?

I think it's letterpress ink - is that right? The design sounds odd. I have the regular sized Stampoholic and it's great. As I understand it, it works just like the Misti. I mostly have photopolymer stamps but you can also use it with rubber cling stamps if you take out the foam layer inside the press. I've had mine a few months and it's very sturdy.

I think she means that the grooves that serve as the ruler prevent the paper from ever completely having full contact on the surface, by the very nature of having grooves. I haven't gotten my WRMK press yet, but I wasn't excited about the ink/stamps since I assumed they weren't super high quality (kind of like all the extras I got with the Fuse). I assume the grooves on the board are shallow enough that it doesn't affect your stamping.

I finally broke down and bought a Misti ($60) last month at Scrapbook Expo. I LOVE it!

In case anyone wants to see what it's like, I got the Precision Press in the mail today and made a quick video on it. Here's the link to the video: youtu.be/KhPeaDmZpgY

I read a couple of reviews of the WRMK one on HSN. They said you had to make sure the stamp is in the middle as there isn't enough pressure on the sides. I notice that item is no longer on the HSN website so I guess they won't be getting any more in soon.
I went ahead and ordered the Stampaholic. Can't wait to get it and try it out.

I just played around with mine and I didn't have any trouble with the pressure. In general, I wouldn't put my stamp on the edges anyway, though -- I'd just move my piece of paper accordingly.

Thanks for sharing your video, pancakes. It looks like it's nice quality, and I like the way paper can extend on 2 sides. I just received my dvd case and stick-on grid to create an inexpensive version, but I haven't put it together yet. If I end up using it frequently, the WRMK looks like it would be a nice upgrade.

I have the Stampoholic. I resisted ordering a stamp press for a long time on the basis I didn't need one, but it's got a lot of use! Has really helped with missed areas in stamping, or if I want a darker sentiment etc. Also makes lining up layered stamps a breeze. SaveSave

I have the 12x12 Stampaholic and I love it. I bought it directly from the company. It has been great for 12x12 pages but I'm still thinking about getting the middle size for smaller projects.
