The inventor or the Misti is known for being somewhat of a stickler about those who copy for design. I am surprised that WRMK is putting their own version out. Think the Misti designer will try and stop them? MISTI LINK

I think it's in poor taste from a big company to do that to a small company, however, I don't think she has a case. Many people have already engineered their letterpress from WRMK to work as a stamping tool. They are using their own technology and doing what customers have already been doing. The one from Die Cuts and More is almost an exact copy which is way worse.

I still have the Fiskars grid plate on foam ends that works the same way, and I've had it a good 10 years now.
This isn't a new invention, just new packaging and sales techniques.

Gutenberg invented the printing press almost 600 years ago. There is nothing about the MISTI that is new, it's simply been marketed to the stamping industry. Great idea. Now other people are doing the same. It's still just a printing press.

I've been wanting to buy the Misti, but the price has stopped me. I'm glad WRMK is making a more affordable version.

Considering the WRMK Letterpress has been used as a stamp press in blog posts since at least 2 years before the MISTI came about (if anything she copied them), and this is just a larger version of that letterpress I do not see the big deal. Besides the fact that in 2 years Iliana has been using scare tactics against people who have made their own, I do not feel bad for her one bit. She does not have a patent (pending is not patent). If it were patent eligible she would have had it already. I don't hear anyone complaining about all the different companies making dye inks, or pigment inks... same color same use. Copic, Spectrum Noir, Bic-Mark It, all alcohol markers all have same exact use. Heck, for that matter, look at the stamps themeselves, one company makes a unicorn, they all make unicorns> one makes a flamingo, they all make a flamingo. Die Cuts and More did nothing but make a stamp positioner in India, which I would rather have than China, and guess what, not the shoddy workmanship or complaints of the pink one, and for that matter, lower cost all the way around.

I refused to buy the Misti based on her tactics and paid for the Stampaholic instead. Seriously you can make your own this is not a revolutionary idea

Now other people are doing the same. It's still just a printing press. Gutenberg's printing press was probably cheaper to buy. I can see why there is a market for another company to make one cheaper. It is almost half the price. The MISTI also has some pretty bad reviews from real people (who are not paid or given the product). It frequently breaks. That being said, I have the MISTI, but know of so many other people who would love it but won't pay the $60.

Wish I had bought the larger Misti. Bought the mini one & can't fit a card in it... Just a card front. I may look at the WRMK one.

So...anyone seen Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool? $25 retail. I want the 12x12 Misti, but I've been put off by the drama and I hate buying something a company won't back up, no matter what the ticket price is. I'm not expecting a problem with it, but who does? And if they won't stand by their products, why should I risk that much money? And...this diy stamp tool is probably the best one I've seen. Thinking I may give it go. Make your own stamp tool
WRMK needs to give up on the typewriters and make me a 12x12 stamp tool...THAT I'd shell out some bucks for at Michaels...

Seriously you can make your own this is not a revolutionary idea I felt the same way with how she went after people. I did make my own using 8x8 acrylic album pages, a WRMK 5x7 magnetic mat(from TM), some hinges and small BG magnets that I got at TM. I think all in all maybe $10 spent. I don't feel guilty if I don't use it all the time. I was going to pop in and give a heads up on the HA stamper but moraie beat me to it. It looks just like the MISTI but in a pretty blue.

I ordered the DVD case and Little B grid from the link above for Hallmark Scrapbooking for about $7. I already have some foam to cut for the insert. Thanks for sharing. It looks really simple, and is probably all I need. I'll let you know how it goes. They had good prices on some other items that I needed, too. Ordered on Saturday, and shipped already!

Does anyone know how the WRMK press can fit a 12x12 piece of paper? See the first bullet in the ACOT description.
Then it says it has a 7x7 surface? Does the ruler border flip up too?
Does my question make any sense?
EDIT: nm I figured it out! The ruler is only on two edges so you can slide as large of a piece of paper you want in.

Hmm. HSN is having their craft shows tomorrow. Wonder if they'll have the WRMK press. I like the idea of the MISTI but i remember some of the first ones cracked and the company owner wouldn't refund or replace. And that DIY thread from a while back put me off ever buying one. I'm definitely looking into The WRMK one.

I still have the Fiskars grid plate on foam ends that works the same way, and I've had it a good 10 years now. This isn't a new invention, just new packaging and sales techniques. This. Fiskars had their stamp positioner on the market first. I'd buy from WRMK before misti, just because I know they back and stand by their products.
