Is he a flash in the pan, or the real deal? A friend and I made a bet on him. One of us says he in be in a Superbowl in 5 years, the other says he will not be in football in 5 years. Whose right?

I don't know at this point, I don't think Super Bowl, but he may still be in the NFL. That said, my teenage son loves him, so we are going to the Redskins preseason game on 8/18 since it is against the Browns and he will probably get to see Johnny Football play. I just want to watch my second husband RGIII play. Sigh.

I don't have the answer, but I'm pretty sure I'm glad the Cowboys didn't take him.

According to my DH, he won't even be in football. He thinks his scrambling style will end up getting him hurt, repeatedly.

I am the one who said he will not be in football in 5 years. Just hope I can remember this bet in 2019!

He won't be playing football in five years. I think he's all style and no substance.

No idea, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that he's no longer playing in the NFL. I don't much care for him.

He just rubs me the wrong way. I hope he is out of the picture sooner than 5 years.

DH says he won't be around. DS (11) says he will have won a superbowl. I, myself have no informed opinion. The only thing I know about him is he went way lower in the draft than he was supposed to and that caused quite a commotion with DH and DS.

I don't think he is an NFL quarterback. I was glad the Cowboys did not take him.

It's so hard to be a Browns fan as it is. I just want a solid player who's a solid person. And I don't think he's it.

I think you're being generous giving him 5 yrs. if he does make it that long it won't be as a starting QB. I just don't see him being the answer to the Browns quest for a Super Bowl title.

I don't think he's any where as good as he thinks he is. The NFL is not college. He has yet to take a snap and the fans are buying his merchandise like it's fire sale. I just don't get it. I hope I am wrong because I would like nothing more than the Browns having a successful season in my lifetime.

the proverbial flash in the pan. He will make Tebow look like a Hall of Famer.

Here's my two cents:
I don't know one way or another, but I am hoping that "Johnny Football" will see the light and mature some. I think all of the attention that he got was a lot of his problem.
I'm pulling for him to turn a new leaf and do really well. We'll see.
Of course, what I'd REALLY like is for the Texans to do well this season, lol.

I think it could go either way. He's got the talent IF - and it's a big if - he can get his ego and behavior in check.
I hope for his sake that he's not the next Ryan Leaf.

His ego is going to be his downfall. If he brags and showboats, he's going to be painting a big ol' target on his back. Defense is going to go after him hard. If he's not injured his first season, I'll be shocked.

I think he is a flash in the pan, and I don't think he will be on the field in 5 years. I hope he is gone sooner.

Complete flash in the pan. I am hoping that he crashes and burns in spectacular style this year. There isn't enough room on the field for him and his ego. Every time he makes that "money" move I want to smack him in the back of the head.

I think Manziel won't be able mentally and emotionally take the pressure the NFL and media will put on him as a professional. He was having a hard enough time with it the past two years at A&M I can't imagine how much Daddy will have to swoop in to save him now.

Did anyone see Kevin Costner Draft Day movie, and watch the real draft day? Life imitated art as they say...
Not a Johnny Football fan, he seems like a creep.

By all accounts, he lives and breathes playing football, so maybe he is a phenom and will do well during the season, and I certainly don't want him to get hurt. I remember the days of a young Joe Namath and his wild ways, but he had a very successful career. JamH
