So I bought Heidi swapps white color shine and was pleasantly surprised with a 2 pack except, it doesn't dry white. It dries clear. So a) what do I do with this stuff and b) what is everyone using for white splatters?

I used the Studio Calico white mist on navy and it definitely shows. Unfortunately it never dries well and has a chalky feel. So my page protectors get a little smudgy. But it's the only one that I have found so far that shows.

I don't do splatters, but I've seen people use calligraphy ink, white watercolor paint and acrylic paint watered down.

My favourite white mist is Lindy's Stamp Gang Frozen Jack Frost. It definitely shows up crisp white, dries beautifully etc.

Distress Picket Fence paint is another option you might try. It's opaque, but I'm not sure how it compared to others.

I mix gesso and a bit of water in a Mini Mister. Love doing that. White acrylic paint will work too.

I use watered down acrylic paint in a spritzer. that shows up best. it doesn't have to be expensive paint---even the Michaels cheapo brand is fine. there is enough pigment in there. the water is just to thin it down enough to get it through the spritzer.

That's what I did too! At first I tried glitter girl's method, which she did so well. It involved dipping a brush in white paint and then tapping the handle. Hers turned out beautifully, mine not so much! But I'm blaming myself, not Shimelle. Her tapping to paint ratio was more thought out!

Her tapping to paint ratio was more thought out! if you want to use a brush to make splatters, use a toothbrush and not a paint brush. dip it in the white liquid, just enough to wet the bristles but not enough so you get large drips. turn the bristles towards the paper and run your fingers across the bristles from top of the toothbrush to the bottom towards the handle to make it splatter. the size of the splatters depend on how wet the bristles are and how close the toothbrush is to the paper. I learned this when I took a tole painting class and we learned to splatter on wood. it works great. you have better control with your fingers running through the bristles than just tapping a brush. try it!
