This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I may be in and out and not often on the boards the next week. The family is still deciding on a memorial service locally and we will be traveling to DH's convention too. Hope you each get lots of scrappy mojo and time this month! I'll check back later.

Happy almost October!!! This year is flying by. Thanks nylene for the new thread and hope all your plans and events go well. More art and maybe some cards today too. Oh that Greek outdoor concert was so fun last night. The weather was nice and cool. The music was ok but the more we heard the more I really liked it. It almost had a middle eastern feel too. They had teen dancers from the local Greek church perform and they were so good. They also had a photo booth to take silly pics and of course I couldn't pass this up. LOL! But the cutest thing was these little girls. No one was dancing on the dance floor right in front of the stage. Then, there were a couple little girls that ran over there and dancing like crazy. Then this other girl came with her parents and she just ran to the dance floor and jumped right in. And boy was she a dancing machine! LOL! They were so cute and brave too! I hope their parents have them in dance classes cause these girls were naturally talented. Later the adults jumped in the dancing and having a great time. OPA! Have a super day ladies and waving hi to you all!

YIKES! I just popped onto 2PR to see what's going on while I wait on the boys to get back with the 2nd load of wood. I saw the Pokey thread for October. I was totally confused for a second. I have to go catch up from last week's posts. Today has been errands and work. I'll be crafting this evening for a bit and tomorrow. Don's taking the kids to church in the morning so I can craft without a care (unless dd is sick then she'll stay with me). kellyr21, sounds like a fun concert. Boys are back. gotta run.

Thanks to Nylene for the new Fall thread! Yes October is here already! I am going o share with you what happened to me this morning and there is a lesson learned in this story. I went to the crop and got some new dies by Sizzix and was working on my Christmas cards. Somehow my scissors were laying on the table and somehow they went off of the table and ended up in my leg. Yes two 1/2 inch long puncture wounds in my thigh right above my knee on the inside of my leg. Well I am on Comadin so I applied pressure and put a bandaid on my leg. Next thing I knew my pants were wet and soaked with blood. Fortunately there was nurse present at the facility. She applied a pressure bandage for about 45 minutes then put a clean dressing on it but had to keep my leg elevated for the rest of today to avoid swelling. So far no more bleeding but I am getting a whopper of a bruise. I will be putting my scissors in some sort of container from now on as I never want to go thru this again. I had a good time at the crop and brought home a lot of stuff. Cards and page kits. My stamping class was not what I thought but I got a lot of stamps in it. It was nice to have vendors there so if you had questions on different products they would show you how to use them. I bought a few things mostly dies and stamps that I can use over and over. Lots of pretty things, lots of Disney and so on. kellyr21-sounds like you enjoyed the concert! Tomorrow is football. I do not know who is starting and who is not! How about that Ohio State score-58-0? LisaDV-hope you enjoy scraping tomorrow morning! Like there is a question? nylene- What an emotional week for you from a happy wedding to the sad funeral.Hope all is well and you have agood week. well need to get off for now.

Oh Cindy, No!!! You should keep that blood clotting stuff on you. We always have Celox or QuickClot in the first aid kit here. For bruising you should get arnica (not on the open wound) but it is amazing stuff that heals your bruises and soreness (sore muscles or arthritis) better than anything else my family (extended) has ever used. I'm glad you had a good time at the crop anyway though. What were you expecting out of the stamping class, and what did you get out of it? nylene , hope you enjoyed the wedding. Let us know about your nephew's services as we keep you in our thoughts and prayers. I was able to finish the layout today. FamilyIsMadeWLovew by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr I still have some things to finish up the 8x8 calendar swap, because as I was almost finished I decided to layer up the calendar, which meant redoing that section. As I had already glued down the initial calendar -- it is now my base layer, then I cut out a cardstock layer, and reprinted the calendars. I still have to adhere it. Tomorrow. DH and kids came home with a new TV today. Ours stopped working like 2 weeks ago. DS convinced Dad to get a bigger one (55"). We started putting it out, and it didn't fit on my TV stand. So at 4pm, we were cleaning and rearranging the whole living room to make a space for the TV. I still will have a couple of pieces of furniture to move around through the week or when I get to it. Tonight became a movie night to break in the new "boob tube".

It is really late but I wanted to say thank you for letting me know about these two products. I will be ordering some of these for home, my purse and the farm. I never heard of them before and they are approved by the FDA. Be back tomorrow when I am not so tired and can think of what I want to say. Waving hello to one and all! Oh Lisa I left you some love in the gallery-love your page!

Hey everybody. I decided to join ScrapHappy and take part in their October Layout A Day. I know grammadee didn't like the pressure, but I found LOAD helped get my mojo going plus it got me experimenting with digital and the Project Life app. Saturday was digital scrapbooking day, so this whole week there are sales. I don't do digital very much but I did buy a theater one for my play ( kellyr21 the performances are on November 16, 17, and 18) and another one called Procraftinating and a few others I couldn't pass up. I think I'm mostly going to use them on my phone for LOAD when I have rehearsals. This weekend coming up is Canadian Thanksgiving so DH and I are off to my parents. scrapincin I'm so sorry to hear about your leg! nylene I'm also sorry to hear about your nephew. LisaDV you sound so busy! Here are the two layouts I've done for LOAD so far:

Good Evening all!!! Just stopping by to check up on chat etc. Want to let you know my leg is doing ok. No more bleeding-which is what I worry about most. It has a nice size bruise and is sore but nothing one can't handle. I am going to be ordering the things Lisa told me about. I am so thankful Lisa that you shared that information with me. I tried so hard to get into my scrap room and put the stuff from the crop away and work on my Christmas cards. But for some reason that was not meant to be. Maybe tomorrow. justjac-love your pages and will be leaving you some love in the gallery. How is the play coming along? Are you learning your lines? Have a safe trip and Happy Thanksgiving to you! Thanksgiving is my favorite. Why? because you get to share with family and friends and do not have to stress yourself out buying presents! Waving to Lisa, Kelly, Grammadee, and Nylene! Be back tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday! It is a nice warm day today and I am finally baking those cupcakes I wanted to do back in JULY!!!! LOL! There is a cupcake class tonight at M's and I wanted to make some for that. I called to see if the class is still on and they aren't sure. So I will go anyway to see. If not, I will be decorating my own with Kelly style. We had a fun weekend. On Sunday they had an event celebrating the city's 60th year. It was an art show, film festival and a whole line up of band performing. I enjoyed the music and art. We stayed to watch some the movie, Ice Age. Then we came home to relax. I really wanted to go back that evening for a special concert with an orchestra but I was too pooped! Also, this weekend I was so happy to find the complete set of Anne of Green Gables and Avonlae. I was just thinking about that movie and how I wanted to see it again. Then when I was at the library's little shop there they were. So I am watching part two today and will see the others later this week. Boy, there were some mean folks in this story to sweet Anne. scrapincin- Oh no!!! I am so glad you are ok. What a crazy thing to happen while you are having fun. Take it easy girl! Yeah, you OHIO team is doing great. Let's see how this weekend turns out. LisaDV- Wow, a new TV! I know you all enjoyed watching it. Your pages look good. Going to see them in the gallery. justjac- Your scrap challenge is going to be fun. I have never done a challenge like that. Maybe if I had more pics to use I would try it. Oh your play is going up. I know you must be getting more excited. Have a good evening girls!

scrapincin I'm learning my lines slowly. I'm supposed to know them all by October 25 and I'm strong for about 1/8 of the play so far! I recorded them and listen to them in the car on my commute to work. kellyr21 your cupcakes always look so good! I would like to take a decorating class some day. I have two more LOAD pages to show you. Monday's prompt was about ink and stamping and I went a little overboard. I put Distress ink on some plastic packaging and blotted it on my cardstock like I did on my brother's birthday card. It warped a bit. The page I did yesterday is about play rehearsals and I did it on my phone using Apps called PicFrame and LetterGlow.

scrapincin , glad I could be useful. justjac , Loving the layouts. You are really amazing to take on LOAD while working and preparing for a play. I'd be a wreck, so I applaud you. Left you love on your pages. kellyr21 , please tell me if you like the viewable version of Anne of Green Gables. My dd loves the books. Well, I'm just checking in before leaving. We've decided to go meet Don in GR and do the art prize tour. I didn't know if dd would be better for it, but she's been good all week. DS on the other hand was fighting something. He's better today, so we'll go down tomorrow. I'll probably just use the PL app to do the pages. I love the ease of use for capturing things while we're out. But it meant I purchased some digital stacked project life cards today that I need to unzip and upload to dropbox so I can use. URG. I have a love/hate relationship with technology! nylene, sending you a hug and hoping the week is going well. maribeth, my hubs took a couple of courthouse pictures for me for you. Once I download them from my phone, I'll send them to you. Hope all is well with you!!!

Happy Thursday! I hope you all are having a nice day. Last night when my dh came home he forgot a few grocery bags in the car so I decided to walk back there with him. Then as soon as he closed the door he realized he didn't have his KEYS!!!!! After ten years of living here this was the first time we were lock out together. OMG! So we called the manager and he wouldn't be back for over an hour. Boy we were upset and hungry. I am so glad I didn't have anything cooking as I had just prepared most of our dinner. Thankfully, my dh had his car keys and wallet. SO we went to get some dinner and came back. What a little scare but we finally got back in and I was so happy! LOL! Oh, I did make my cupcakes in bright happy yellow and hot pink. I had so much fun making then. Of course eating them was even better. I am not a big icing fan but this buttercream from M's is pretty good. Also, I did go to M's for their cupcake class. It was ok and they provided all the supplies even the cupcakes. This was a happy surprise as they normally don't provide all the supplies. I want to keep practicing so I really can figure out what I am doing. I took some pics and will post soon. LisaDV - Wow, the art event sounds so neat. I did go to the website you provided and it looks like a great event. Have fun y'all! I loved the video of Anne of Green Gables. The actors in my opinion were so good especially the girl that played Anne. I think you all would like it. I never read the book so I am not sure how close the stories are but it was good to me. justjac - You are on a roll with your LOAD challenge. Go Jac Go! Good to see you are learning your lines.

LisaDV I also have a love hate relationship with technology. I thought I would save time doing a few digital pocket pages this month, but the downloading and unzipping took forever! kellyr21 I read the books and I loved the Anne of Green Gables mini-series. I wasn't as fond of the Anne of Avonlea one because they messed with the order of events, cherry picked from three books, and maybe even created a character. It's been a while and I can't remember exactly. I hated the third movie Anne of Green Gables the Continuing Story. Gilbert goes missing during WWI (in the books it's their sons that go to war) and Anne bops over to Europe to go look for him. I didn't watch all of it because the whole concept was inaccurate and ridiculous! Rant over. It's one of my pet peeves. Oh, also the 12 degrees on my page is Celcius. I don't know what that is in Farenheit. I did my page yesterday. I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. The prompt is to use paper piecing but I don't know if I have time to do a physical page. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Good Evening everyone! Wow the chatter has been busy this afternoon! The spot they removed from my face turned out to be a hemangioma which was a cluster of blood vessels and benign. That is good news and my leg is doing well also still bruised and I still have a bandaid over the wound. I am praying for all those folks down south waiting for the to hit. Mathew in the east coast, tornadoes in the midwest. kellyr21- glad you got to do your cupcakes-they sound yummy! I remember watching those Anne of Green Gables with my DD Becky. I look forward to Maggie reading them. I have to telly ou I think our new coach will bring the Browns back as he is constantly coaching them. Even on the sidelines during the game he's continually thinking and talking to them. The quarterback we got from you guys-Kessler-is doing very well. You would hardly know he is a rookie. justjac- glad you are working in your lines and learning them. I figured you would. Wish we could all come and see your play when it began. Your pages are looking really good even if they are digi. LisaDV- Have fun on your artsy trip! How fun to go as a family and see what each person likes. nylene- Hope you are enjoying your trip and getting those cards made. We miss you! Hope to see you back here soon!

maribeth, my hubs took a couple of courthouse pictures for me for you. Once I download them from my phone, I'll send them to you. Hope all is well with you!!! Super Cool. Please be sure to provide a small pic of his face so I can put that on the page (with name) I want to give photo credit. One of the points of the project is to show my granddaughters that people contributed to my DREAM. I apologize for not being a participant in the Pokey Peas lately. Lots of emotional stuff going on right now, hopefully soon I can one again be a positive contributor to this thread. Love you guys.

Oh, so much to catch up on. Being gone all week has put me soooo behind. My neighbor brought 2 big bags of grapes as we were leaving town so after school today I finally began getting them washed and cooked. I hope I remember everything I wanted to comment on. You have been busy chatting and scrapping this week. maribeth , so nice to see you popping on. I am sending you hugs and hope that things get brighter for you soon. We miss your sweet personality. Pop in when you can, we always love to see your smiling face pop up. scrapincin , I just gasped as I read about your scissors dropping. Before I could even read it, my first thought was "she's on coumadin". I am grateful that someone there was able to help you. This was not what you expected on your scrappy getaway! I am so glad LisaDV suggested those products. I didn't know they existed either. I do use Arnica gel when I have sore muscles. I hope you are healing and that you are doing well. Other than that, did you get a lot of fun scrappy/chatty time? LisaDV , I love your layout. Such a cute little family that seems to be growing up quickly. I left you some love in the gallery. I hope your trip to meet up with your husband goes well and that everyone is feeling better. kellyr21 , I can't wait to see the cupcakes you decorate. I'm glad they didn't cancel your class. Your Greek evening sounds like fun. They have a big Greek Festival in SLC every year, but it is held at the same time as our Fair so we don't get up there. I understand that lots of people go and have a great time. How are the guitar lessons going? Are you still enjoying it? justjac , I love all your layouts. I wish I could see them up close. It looks like you have done some fun techniques. You are brave to tackle that many layouts at once. I'm much too pokey for that. I loved seeing the photos of your play practices. That's a great idea to scrap the practices as well as the play! My grapes have cooled so I need to go press them. I'll be around more now. The wedding was at a beautiful place (but out in the middle of nowhere!) My brother married them and did a good job. It was obvious that he was scared to death! DH's convention went well and I got all my Christmas cards made in the hotel. We still don't know if they will decide to hold a memorial for our nephew in the west. His dad advised us not to try to come to the one in PA. His mom can't fly, so she wasn't present. She has some dementia so it hasn't been decided if it would just open the wound or if it would bring closure. Be back later!

Happy Friday! It is a nice warm day and I am enjoying it. I was trying to upload my pics on Flickr but it wouldn't work! Not sure what the problem was so I just made a blog post about my cupcakes. So stop by. Wish I could send you all some!
Cupcake Anyone?
Boy, I am really struggling with my Christmas cards. The pp kit I got the more I look at the patterns the more I am not sure what to do. SO, I will play around with them again today and see what ideas I can come up with. I think the paper just isn't my style. hummmmm...
maribeth - So happy to hear from you. I am sending you light and joy to brighten up your day. Hang in there and we will see ya when you are ready.
justjac - I never read the books but now I may have to check those out. I guess when the made the movies they had to cut some things out.
scrapincin - Glad you are ok and feeling better. Also, good to hear that Kessler is playing well. Our Rams are playing surprising well too. So we will see how the weekend turns out. Also, I see Cleveland's baseball team is in the playouts. Are you a fan? I do like the Dodgers and how they do well.
nylene - You are back!!! Happy to see you had a nice trip and I hope it was restful for you too. You got your Christmas cards done. That is great! How many did you do?

Hi everyone! Nylene so good to see you back! We really miss you when you are gone. Glad to hear that Steve's convention went well and that you have your Christmas cards finished. I am still working on mine. That is what I started working on at the crop when the big accident occurred. I had finished 10 and found some new products to use on my cards and was excited to play with them when those darn scissors fell. I still do not know how it happened I now have a small basket on my desk that I lay my scissors in so no matter what they will not end up in my leg. Most of the things we made were either page layouts or cards. I did not finish the pages yet. My stamping class gave me a lot of new stamps, but they did not have enough time to do much teaching. I bought a small kit with the Celox and have it in my purse so I have it with me. nylene- so are you making Jelly or juice? I did enjoy the time with my DSIL but it was long days-8 AM till midnight! I did have to come home early on Saturday due to the accident. Glad to hear the wedding went thru without a hitch! kellyr21- Yes the Tribe is in the play-offs-they won their division. They are playing the Boston Red Sox as we speak. maribeth-so nice to hear from you. Here's hoping you are back to your old self soon and come back to have some fun. Well going to close for now!

Hi, Pokeys! It seems so nice to come in and sit down in my scraproom. I finished 2 pages I started early last week, but hadn't added the journaling. Other than that I have just played around and put some of the stuff away that I took on our trip. Cindy, isn't unpacking scrap supplies the worst? I know it all fit here before I left, but it seems to have multiplied while out of the room! kellyr21 , those cupcakes look scrumptious!! You do beautiful roses. You must have used special food coloring to get such beautiful, bright colors. I would love to learn how to do those! The neighboring town has a Michael's with a classroom, so I may go check out their classes. I'm sorry your cards are not coming together as you hoped. I just made the card fronts and still have to cut and fold the cards and attach the fronts. I made about 30. I made 50 last year and I usually send about that many, but I was so sick at Christmas time that I only sent 20, so I still have the leftovers from last year. I do pretty much the same design with just different papers. They aren't fancy, but I like them. justjac , I meant to comment on your page about the typewriter. We had one just like that at our home. I had never typed on an electric machine until I was in college. My boss was writing a book and wanted me to transcribe his notes. The electric just ran away with me, until I was sobbing trying to make it work. We were taught to rest our fingers on the keys and you can't do that on an electric. LOL My boss finally gave up on me and had his wife do it. Instead I just clerked in his book store. scrapincin , I'm glad you are doing OK now. I have had that same thing happen, but I had heavy Levis on so they didn't go deep. Somehow I pulled something that made them flip up in the air and land in my leg. Thank you for your comments on my layout at Scrapbook.com. You certainly don't need to do that if you don't want. You are so kind. I have been making jelly. I did the juice last night and turned it into 3 batches of jelly this morning. I don't know how I used to be on my feet all day canning. After 2 hours of standing at the stove, my back feels like it's broken. Oh, this old age!#@#% Here is the double pager I worked on last week. Follow Your Heart by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Happy Saturday! Hope you all are having a great weekend so far. Last night we went to our city's debates featuring city council candidates. It was held at the theater and so well organized and even the staging was so patriotic. This was our first time going to something like this here in our town but very interesting. scrapincin - Lots of baseball, football and basketball this weekend. Should be fun! Hope our baseball teams make to the next series. Fingers crossed! nylene - Thank you. I am glad you liked my rose designs. I know you can make some beautiful cupcake designs too. Hopefully you can make it to one of those M's class. As talented as you are, you could teach the classes! Really! :)Hey maybe cupcakes will be another activity for your "cousin's camp." I watched some YouTube videos to help me learn the technique in addition to the classes. The food color I got for M's and it is gel like and very potent. Here is the store web page. www.michaels.com/search?q=wiltons%20icing%20color Also, my guitar lessons are all over but hope to continue learning on my own and/or with lessons again.

kellyr21 , thanks for the link of the food coloring gels. I knew you must have used something besides those little droplet things!! I love your idea of Cousin Camp frosting cupcakes!! I just got an email from Angie saying they are thinking of coming for Thanksgiving and when Sammie is here, we always have to have another Cousin Camp. I love the cupcake idea and want to hurry and learn as much as possible before they come. Thank you , thank you. The only thing I know how to do with frosting is make a pretty shell border around the top and bottom of a cake. I have lots to learn. Instead of animal cracker cookies for the Tea Party, we could have cupcakes!! Steve is getting a scroll saw for Christmas (but early) so he hopes to help the little boys make something fun.

Hi Everyone! I have to laugh Nylene when I see another Cousin Camp coming into view! What awesome Grandparents you and Steve are! I really like commenting on your pages on both websites. They are so great I always can find something to say about them I mean my title on this board is Chatterbox!
We went with the Izaac Walton League to tour the Ravenna Arsenal. It was used a lot in the the earlier wars and now for training. It is run by the US Army. It was 4 hour tour, then went to the club for lunch. And you know I had to go fishing for a while. Only caught one blue gill and he was too small so threw him back.
Hope to work on my cards again this evening as I did not get much done yesterday. Left love in the gallery for everyone's creative works! Signing off for now!

nylene what a great two pager! Those music notes are so pretty. Cupcakes at cousin camp sounds like so much fun. That was such a funny story about the electric typewriter. Good luck everybody with your Christmas cards. I haven't made any since the ones I posted. grammadee and I bought some kits, so I'm hoping we can get together in November. It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. DH and I are visiting my parents, so I did a digital page yesterday and today.

Happy Monday! We are back and had a lot of fun. I will share some of the amazing art pieces later in the week. It was a great little visit, but so fast. The dogs are happy we're home. We spent yesterday afternoon picking apples, so I'll have that to contend with later this week. But first, I was messaged on fb but one of the swap coordinators to see if I was still participating in a swap that I had TOTALLY and COMPLETELY forgot about signing up for. Due date: This Friday. YIKES!! maribeth, hugs to you. Just know we are thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way - always. nylene, sounds like the wedding was beautiful. I left you love on your double page spread. Where did you get the violin sticker? Glad you had time to finish your Christmas cards. Prepping for another Cousin's Camp will keep you extra busy. It's such a wonderful idea. kellyr21, your cupcakes are beautiful! scrapincin, sorry you didn't get a keeper. Don informed me that he was going fishing on Thursday morning. He's worked hard and away from home (3 different states) a lot the last 2 weeks, so he needs to detox. Then in the evening he's going to a Ducks Unlimited dinner. Are you familiar with them? I wasn't. Don has never duck hunted either, but ds wants to go next year. justjac, great pages. Left you some love. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. OK, I have to be off. So much to do. I'll check in later this week.

Good Monday afternoon! Hope all is well with everyone! I am taking a little break for lunch so took the time to check in. So glad to see you back Lisa! We miss you when you are gone! But so glad you get to do all these fun things with your family. Believe me things really change when they get jobs and are on their own. Feels like they are never off when you are. Waiting to watch the Indians play game 3 of the play offs. They are playing the Boston Red Sox and it rained there all day yesterday. My Browns got really beat up yesterday.I feel sometimes that in the NFL that the more they can hurt another player the happier they are. You don't see that in college ball. LisaDV- I have not heard of that group but my DH has. He said it started out as a conservation group for ducks. They would build up areas that were where ducks would go to live and mate and replenish the duck I too hope all our Canadian friends had a very Happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I did work on my cards again last evening and hope to work on them again today. I am almost 2/3 done. Have been doing household chores today-like moving the clothes around for Fall and winter. And I better get back to it. Will be back later!

scrapincin, I'm glad you got some "down time" to do a little fishin'. I don't know if you know the country singer, Dierks Bentley, but he was in Boise for a concert. He went on the internet and found that my nephew (the one who just got married) was supposedly the best Idaho fly fisherman. He called him and asked him to take him fly fishing. Boy, was Treg excited. Then he and his fiance got VIP tickets to his show. So, fishing has lots of rewards besides relaxing and delicious food! LOL! I am anxious to see your Christmas cards. Yours are always so detailed and beautiful. Welcome back, LisaDV. I'm glad you had a good time with your family and that you were all well. I wish I could reach through the computer and help you with all your apples. Angie has been making apple butter with hers. The people who lived there before didn't spray them, so they were pretty wormy. They just all worked together and cut out the bad parts. What will you do with yours? Do you have a root cellar to store them whole? I have one student in Mexico for a couple of weeks, another at Disneyland for a week and in the middle of my morning they had an evacuation drill where the children had to walk to a neighboring school and shelter in place. So they called and told me not to come in. I dropped by just before noon to take a little gift to a birthday girl. It was just some little items, but her favorite part of the gift was the card I made. That made me feel good. Of course I didn't scan it first! Off to play in my scraproom before mopping all my floors this afternoon. What a pain that housework still has to be done when children are grown!

LisaDV, I forgot to answer your question. The violin on my layout is a Silhouette cut file.

Happy Monday! The weather is still on the hot side but hopefully Mother Nature will send Fall temps soon. Not much going on today besides the usual house stuff and some crafting. Thanks for all your kind comments on my cupcake blog post. I want to make more this week. Maybe I will freeze them or send some with my dh to his job.
nylene - You are welcomed! I know you and your dgks will love making and decorating cupcakes. There are some very simple styles you can find for the kids but your kids are so talented I know they could really do lots of styles. There are so many videos to watch but this one really showed how to make the butter cream and simple designs. Youtube Video Cupcake Deco
Sounds like you had a day off from tutoring. Oh boy, I remember when I was sub teaching those fire drills and a few times we had school lock downs. Everything always turned out ok but still scary. Also, how sweet you made a little gift for one of the kids. I was reading in a mag about a lady who threw bday parties with gifts for foster and shelter children. I thought that was a wonderful idea to give them such a memorable moment.
scrapincin- Fishing!!! How cool is that! Too bad the fish had to be thrown back but maybe next time you will catch the "big one." LOL! We enjoyed our football weekend well I should say sort of. Ron's Eagles lost but USC won. Our Ram's lost too but maybe next week they will get it.
LisaDV- Glad you had a nice time. That art place sounds great. I would like to go to one of our museums soon to check out some art. What are you gonna do with those apples? Do you have several apple trees?
justjac- Yes, happy belated thanksgiving! Did you do any cooking? I hope you had a great time celebrating.
Waving hello to you all and have a nice evening!
