I got rid of 5 more containers worth of stuff. I think I am able to donate about 100 mists and maybe more. There were an awful lot there. I can't lift the container. There are 2 heavy containers of paper with about 600 sheets in each and then a container of stamps and "stuff" and another one of random stuff the teachers can just help themselves to. I have so much more work to go but I am getting there. I need a huge garbage back and a recycle bucket for the containers of stuff I can recycle. There is plenty of stuff that must be either thrown out (plastic bags) or plastic packaging (recycle). I think I will work on that tomorrow.
You don't have to read my posts. I am just doing this to keep myself accountable. There is just so much to go through.

We as a family got so much back from those teachers for the 10 years we were at that school that it feels nice to be able to do this. My son went to the school for 10 long years and we loved every minute of it. When it came to donating his old toys and things they went to the school as well.
I feel so much lighter not having that stuff. It was just "stuff" sitting there. Stuff accumulates over time and you just keep buying and buying to no end.
I will have a manageable stash by the time I am done. I am not the only one to purge like this I am sure. We all have lots of stash. I just went overboard with the buying.

I'm amazed by how much you've been able to let go. I have no doubt your son's school will be thrilled to have it.

Today I did stamps, too. I got rid of a container of them. They were heavy. The ones that I thought I loved, needed and had to buy got purged. The ones that I did love stayed. The big container was overflowing when I opened it to see and I pared it down to half. I think I did pretty good. I got rid of all my Jenny Bowlin stamp pads, tons of new in package Tim Holtz distress inks and my American Crafts ones.
I have tons and tons AND TONS of Stampin' Up and CTMH inks to go through. BFF used to sell their stuff so I bought tons through her plus I got some discontinued ones on a Facebook group. I would say there are probably 100 or more that I have to deal with. What colours do I stamp with? In my planner I like to stamp with black and pastels. I have plenty of those as I bought all the chalk inks from VersaMagic years ago and they are still going strong. I kept all of those because I love them. It's other ones that had to go.
I do have 5 pairs of Tim Holtz scissors though. Yeah. Be jealous, right? Not so much! They are staying as they grow wings and vanish over night.

Just so you don't think I am angry I found a ton of original October Afternoon stamps and plenty of Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards ones which I adore! I love those stamps. They all stayed!

elannah- I was wondering how you were doing on your purging. It sounds like you are doing amazing. I am so happy and excited for you. I had a meltdown on my purging over a week ago. I didn't have a place to put things while I went through it. I stupidly sat it all on the floor. It was a nightmare. I got sick of it and said I am going to take four days and make staging areas. I will work on it one hour a day. I chose this method because I have four sides to my room. It only took me one hour to set up staging areas. Not four days. I was dancing around. I was so happy. Now, I am purging super fast. I got rid of so much furniture. I thought I was going to have to buy new furniture. I only bought one piece. A room I thought was going to cost me $1,000 to redo will be less than $100. I love purging!

found a way to get rid of some paperkins yesterday...had to babysit some kids that didn't know me at church, so I took my paperkins and let the 4 YO girl dress the paperdolls...she loved it and it kept her busy the entire time. Her little bubba was happy just running around creating chaos once he saw sissy was happy( and it might have helped that I had kit cats in my purse.)
