I agree with the others who said there's nothing wrong with a second opinion and certainly it's your right, but I feel so comfortable with all the members of my team, I haven't felt the need for that.
And great update, I hope you continue to get good news (the best news possible, anyway!).

glad that your update is a good one! well, you know what I mean- good that you feel better about what's in front of you.
As far as getting a second opinion?? I liked my oncologist, which is good, but for me it came down to "what are the chances that what you saw is NOT cancer, and it was a mistake?" The oncologist's answer was, "it's pretty unmistakable, and the pathology lab really knows what they're looking for-- there's really no chance that they were wrong." After hearing that, I decided getting a second opinion wasn't really necessary and would only delay things.

My dh is my loving and scared other "set of ears" and I have told him that this level of nice he has ramped up to is going to wear him out and make him resent me. (Not that he isn't usually nice but seriously -- I keep teasing him that he can't maintain.) He is taking the news hard. I know my DH would be terrified, so I feel so badly for yours. What a scary thing for both of you to have to process. You sound so much better today. I can read the relief in your update. I hope you continue to get the best possible results as you go through all of this. Jen

Just now seeing your thread. I'm sure you've gotten lots of good advice and support already. Just wanted to add my two cents worth. It's natural to be stunned and scared, but you are going to do great. In 20 years you will look back and wonder what you were so worried about. I believe this because I am there myself today (well, 18 years out from a very aggressive stage 2 diagnosis).
Hugs to you.

Whew! Good update, you sound so much better, you have been on my mind all day. I liked when you said you were telling people in the hopes it may spur just one person to get a mammography. Continued good thoughts and prayers.

That sounds really promising--not that cancer is good, but your diagnosis sounds really optimistic. Thank God for mammograms, right? I am glad you are feeling more relieved--it helps so much to have some answers and a plan.

I'm so sorry you are facing this nopeaq. I had a scare exactly a year ago at my routine mammogram, went back the next day for a "special" mammogram, had a biopsy the following day and then had to wait all weekend for the results. In my case it was benign, but I was completely convinced it would be cancer. I'm so sorry that you had to hear those words. It does sound that your cancer was caught early and that points to a very good result / outcome. Deep breaths. One foot in front of each other. Soon this will all be behind you and you will be on your way to recovery. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
