Again today M came home with a stained up shirt from school. I am not sure what i need to do to get it in his teachers head that there is a smock in his back pack and it is to be used. I can not go out each weekend to get him brand new shirts. This is like the 4th one that I am now throwing in the trash because of here not listening.
No I am not asking her to get a smock There is one i made for him in his back pack. It take 2.3 seconds to slip in on there are no ties or snaps just slip over his head.. I am so pissed right now. Brand new shirt in the trash.

Can you not try to wash it? Lots of stains will come out with pre-treating.

I pulled a muscle in my back cleaning the garage. Ugh...I have a desk job and 45 minute commute. Sitting is killing me.

how old is M? I can see where a teacher wouldnt have time to make sure M has their smock on if there is a room full of other kids. Can M take some responsibility about getting it on?

What exactly is it stained with? If he's doing messy play just save the shirt for that, it's ridiculous to throw it away.

WTF are you/they feeding him that you cannot get a simple stain out? And seriously, if you are having this kind of reaction to "brand new shirts" then maybe you're better off buying shirts from Goodwill instead.
My only vent is somehow, I have 4 weeks before my first craft show of the season and I still have a huge pile to stuff to make. Where in the hell did my time disappear to?

I left my refrigerator door open the other week and got an unexpectedly VERY clean refrigerator out of it. Sometimes, you just have to look on the bright side!

I agree with this. When your kids are old enough to be away from home with a teacher, they have to learn to be responsible. Having 10-30 kids in a room is way more challenging that many people imagine.

this is a petty vent and I know i'm just feeling sorry for myself BUT
this weekend is Canadian thanksgiving. My mother makes the dinner every year & I look forward to it every year. However this year step-son had to be on call for work & therefore couldn't leave the city (they live an hour away) so DIL asked if she could make dinner at her place this year. Fine, wonderful, thanks so much for hosting. That was last night - and the food was kind of awful! Everything I ate was cold, or undercooked (not the turkey, that was good) - and my mom's usually dishes weren't there which I greatly missed. So now today I'm feeling sorry for myself that my thanksgiving dinner wasn't very good. Although it was very sweet of her to try. But I do worry she's going to want to try again next year!

If I remember right, M is not very old. Boys at that age seem to go through clothes pretty fast. I vote you just find stuff on clearance racks or garage sales and let him have at it. Pull the stained shirt back out of the trash, wash it and only send him to school in it. Save the nice stuff for church, etc.

We hit an expected storm on a ferry on vacation yesterday, 19/24 off the people I was with ended up barfing and 15 minutes into the trip I was thrown 5 fit into the air, across a seat, landed on my right side so I'm bruised from my waist to my armpit on one side and I tore tendons and damaged the muscle on the left leg. We had another hour and a half on the boat and I ended up sitting on the floor with soda cans up my pants leg, being thrown around like a rag doll and vomiting my brains out before we finally made it and the captain drive me to the hospital. Oh, and my friend vomited on me and today I have to fly home and deal with getting through the airport with this mess.
The plus side, they gave me early boarding.

I am a preschool teacher and I agree that you should wash the shirt and let him wear it to school. Teachers and other kids don't care about stains. As long as it is clean and not stinky, stained is no big deal. Sometimes messes happen in school despite our best attempts to prevent it. As a teacher and a parent this is not something I would stress about. Do your best to get the stain out and then move on. Kids are dirty little buggers. My eleven year old's latest is ripping a pair of socks per day by wearing his holey skateboarding shoes instead of his other shoes without holes-slightly irritating but not the end of the world. He just has to wear holey socks now until I get around to replacing them.

It's a 10-cent difference. Seriously - you're holding up the grocery line at 5pm for a seemingly endless discussion for a 10-cent difference in the most expensive grocery store in town? Then you're going to leave your cash register and go across the giant store to check yourself?
And yes, I did say "here is a damn dime."

I am trying to change from the all or nothing mindset. Until now, I would be so frustrated that the whole house was not cleaned at the same time. Even so, I did not accomplish my goal today.
Last week DH survived a layoff (thank goodness), but his "work wife" did not. I have been through this and know I cannot help him process this. He does not handle loss well and I am giving him space, but it makes me sad to see him sad. That said, we do recognize and count our blessings that he still has his job.

I've been avoiding FB becasue of all the political crap. I logged in today, to see pictures from a baby shower I made decorations for. I also saw so many cute homecoming pictures posted by friends and family, from all over the country. DD high school decided, less than 2 weeks before homecoming, that it would be more fun for the kids to have a "come as you are after party", immediately following the homecoming game; instead of a traditional homecoming dance. The gym was still decorated, and the court was allowed to wear semi formal attire, but the peasants were instructed to wear street clothes. Not only were the kids disappointed, but it really hurt the small business florists in our city, that depend on the homecoming corsage/boutonniere revenue.

He leaves the house with 0 stains . She is the one that allow the children to use paint that stain there clothing with out a smock even with i send him one each day in his backpack. She has to take out his binder and breakfast so taking the smock out should not be a problem.

My husband smoked for a year after I quit until he finally did too. Saving lots of $$ and feel awesome. It is so worth it.
