If you recall I shattered my wrist 12 weeks ago and I've been told the swelling in my fingers and wrist may take a year or more to go down. I can get my wedding band on but not my diamond ring.
I want to get another ring I can wear in the meantime so don't want to spend a ton of money. Silver, rhodium, fake diamond.
Where should I start if my budget is around $250 or is that wishful thinking

Try QVC...look at their Diamonique. You can get something really nice for less than $250 in platinum.

This may not help, as you either may not have one near by, or the cost is less than you want to spend, but when I wanted a fake diamond ring while waiting to get my new one, I went to Sam Moon and bought one for less that $20! (Major run-on there. ) It looked just as nice as my new, much more expensive real diamond ring. This is what it looked like: I didn't want to spend a lot of money since I knew I wouldn't be wearing it long.

I have a Diamonique from QVC and get many compliments on it. I think I paid less than $100.

I buy fake rings from overstock.com. I can get very blingy rings for really cheap. Some look more believable than others. But it's all in fun so I don't care too much.

I was going to say Diamonique from QVC as well, I don't have a ring but do have earrings, they look like real diamonds IMHO

I have a fake diamond band that I wear to work most days. My husband bought it for me at Macy's. There's no way he spent more than $100 on it.

You can get white gold and CZ for around $100 or less at most department stores, if you're like me and need to see it in person first. Online, you can buy for less.
My fake ring looks great and cost about $100 at Von Maur. It fools everyone, though I'm quick to point out that it's my "fake" ring!

If you are near a Sam Moon store, you can spend less than $100.
If you have a good costume jewelry store, you should be able to find something.
If you are in the Dallas area, go over to Silver Edge on Harry Hines and he has a big selection.
