Yes, I like to color while watching TV - usually over the weekend when I have time to catch up on recorded shows. My favorite books are still the Johanna Basford books

Lauren- thanks for posting your coloring-- beautiful and inspiring!!! I don't use coloring books but I color several times a week with my stamps and copics. Sometimes the images make it onto cards- sometimes they just sit in a basket; colored and waiting for more mojo! I find coloring so very relaxing but I like smaller images-I like the feeling of completing something in one sitting! Maybe a coloring book would encourage me to just totally enjoy the process. I like coloring with copics and have not found any books with thick enough paper. Can anyone suggest a few I can try? I like colored pencils but I am more proficient with the markers! Great thread; love your work too, Lesserknownpea!

Lauren your stuff is fantastic! I'm afraid my own would be no shading, just filling in the blocks lol.
I don't colour, but I DID buy a book....I couldn't resist. It was just sitting there in Chapters calling out to me. The title is "F*ck off I'm Colouring" and the whole book is filled with bad words. SO inappropriate but SO me...LOL

Dd! She was given a few of tbose adult coloring pagea from Child Life while in the ED at Children's for her Dysautonomia/POTS when she was having high heart rate and chest pain.
Anyways she loved coloring them and found they relax her.
She is getting a new book for Christmas and nice pens.
Can someone recommend a good set of pens or pencils to use?

I love to binge watch tv and color. If so, do you have a favorite book or theme? I've been jumping around a bit. I recently finished a Halloween page and a fall page. I'm now working in a book called "Summer Nights by Hanna Karlzon. Show me your works or WIP. Beautiful work, Lauren! I'm jealous of your work here! I haven't been coloring lately only because I'm trying to finish an afghan, but I'm happy if I stay within the lines! Never mind the shading you've labored at!

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words. It's really not hard to shade. There's a kajillion You-tube videos on shading and blending and that's how I learned. I'm not nearly as good as many people I see, but I am getting better.

Beautiful Ladies...what are you using to color them? The three you see were done with Prismacolor pencils. For the three witches, I used a copic marker for the navy blue sky and a white gel pen for the stars.

I never started. Oh, I bought coloring books and pencils and a really snazzy holder for said pencils. I made a color chart. Then I colored half of one page and lost interest. I have no idea why because it seems like something I would love. I think maybe I got intimidated by all the fabulous examples that people were showing and got discouraged by my first effort, which looked like an untalented 5 year old did it. Don't let yourself get intimidated. You're doing this for fun and relaxation. I really think this is one of those "practice-makes-perfect" situations. When I first started a year ago, I could bare keep within the lines. I've watched some You-tube videos and have examined pictures I like to see how things are done. Both have helped.

While I come no where near Lauren's masterful use of color and shading, I've been trying to learn from the gorgeous Tiffany lamps I've been studying about, and got to see in a museum in NYC. I go si slow, as I try to figure out which color to blend with which. And I agree, binge tv and coloring go perfect together. Here is a close up of the detail: I love the way you've done that stained glass. They really do look like exhibits I've seen at the Met in NY. Just beautiful

I have a dozen books, untouched that I'd love to get rid of! I've had to put myself on a "restriction". I must own about 40 books.

I still color. But no way am i posting mine. Lauren your work is just gorgeous. I have a long way to go. Lesserknownpea, love your color combinations. Beautiful. Oh come on. Part of the fun is sharing. Although, I do know how you feel. On some of my facebook groups there are women whose work is sheer artistry. They actually look like photographs.

I had been resistant to this trend but succumbed over the weekend. So far one book and a set of Staedtler pencils but the pencils were not my favorite so I just ordered the 72 prismacolor set. So far I like it. I have been coloring while watching TV with DH

I have been doing a little bit of coloring, but I have so many other things on the go right now that the coloring isn't happening as often as I would like it to. I find it to be so very relaxing and peaceful. I was in a Hobby Lobby last week to pick up a few things and I found a big stack of coloring books. They were very nice quality, thick paper, and the prices were reduced to $.99 to $3.00. I picked up two of them. One is a Mandala design and the other is wild jungle. I find coloring so very peaceful and relaxing. ~Lauren~ and lesserknownpea, both of your pages are quite impressive!
