Is anyone at home with you? Ask them to turn it on. I can never bring myself to turn on the furnace for the first time each fall. My husband turned it on in the middle of the night a few nights ago. It's been on since then and I didn't have to push one button. Jen

I like to go a month without or heat. One year I had 6 months with neither on... I am so my father's child.

I normally don't put flannels on the bed until November 1 but we've had a bit of a chill this week and I'm dying to put them on now. I'd better not because we are back in the upper 70's/low 80's next week. it should would be nice though.

I wasn't feeling well enough to make turkey soup for dinner tonight. Everyone is disappointed. How about they take my antibiotics and get better for me. No dieting when on this kind of meds. I should be better in a few days. It's hard to do anything right now.

My FWP is the same as yours. But we are holding strong. Sweatshirts, covers, slippers. Holding off on turning the heat on as long as possible.

We have a boiler so our central air is on a separate system. DH went to turn on the heat a couple weeks ago only to discover he never turned it off!

Our heat just turns on when the house turns to nipples out weather. I can go to bed in winter gear and wake up in the tropics. Colorado in the fall. All four seasons in one day.

Mine's been on for a couple of weeks. I hate being cold and since my thyroid quit working once I get cold I can't seem to get warm.
My first world problem is that I had to go back to work yesterday after my vacation ended. Yes, this is the job that enables me to travel but I sure wish I was wealthy.

lol i'm with you, trying to make it to the end of October! The nights are very cool so the house stays cold in the AM for awhile, but if we're in the 60's to near 70 outside during the day, you are not getting heat around here! Kids are complaining and wrapped in blankets

I've never really understood the aversion to turning on the heat. I usually just switch ours over from A/C to the furnace sometime in early October. If it doesn't get cold enough for the heat to come on, then it doesn't come on. I can still open windows on nice days, etc. Our furnace has come on once so far, for a few hours last Sunday morning when it got into the 30's overnight. I don't think I could handle trying to work with it being 60 in my house.

I am having the opposite problem here - it is still so cold here as we head to summer Down Under that we still have the heat on. We had the air conditioning serviced over a month ago and have expected to be using it already but nothing yet. It is meant to be a very hot summer here so I guess I should not be complaining.

I switched ours over last week. I think it's turned itself on twice. I refuse to be cold...LOL.
