Anyone else? Some are cute and fun, but I've unfollowed around 20 people this week because they were posting story after story about every single inane thing in their day. Do people really have time to watch all this?
I have a hard time wrapping my old middle aged brain around anyone actually enjoying watching what someone else does all day. Put down the phone once in a while people. I'm looking at you Studio DIY and House that Lars built.

They dont bother me. But? My friend who posts 10 million videos of her small child dancing every.single.day.? That is driving me nuts.

I run into the same thing on Facebook. I have a single older cousin on Facebook (she actually is a sweet person) who works 3rd shift and she is constantly posting about trying to get some sleep or will post when she is taking a nap. I had to laugh the other day because she posted asking people to name her favorite thing and the first person responded SLEEPING.

Is that what the things are at the top? I don't look at them, but it's always the same people.

See, that's why I don't get them. Why would I bother with creating something that's going to disappear? I only watch them sometimes and some people do realllllllly long ones that are super boring.

I certainly don't have time or the desire to spend time on something that disappears but it seems to the things to do at the moment. I barely have time to check my feed every day! SaveSave

Even better? Press and hold the overgrammer's little circle and you'll get the option to mute their stories. Posts will come up in your regular feed, but you won't have to watch inane stories.

I don't even check IG every day. I haven't subscribed to people who do lots of videos, or they're gone before I see them. ha.

I think it's the loneliness of working while everyone is sleeping and getting home and being alone and trying to engage in human contact. It's annoying and I fully admit to doing it. If you're already suffering from depression, 3rd shift makes it even worse.

See, that's why I don't get them. Why would I bother with creating something that's going to disappear? I only watch them sometimes and some people do realllllllly long ones that are super boring. See, I use the Story feature to post stuff that isn't really important - when I see a street sign that's funny or silly or annoying, to complain about something, or maybe show a video of my dog being dumb... I don't need everyone to see that stuff, and I don't need to preserve it forever in my feed or on my phone either. Sometimes I'll post a proper Instagram of the best part of an adventure and add a few extra not-so-good pics to the Story rather than flood everyone's feed with too many pictures of the same thing. I figure that if people like my content they'll watch and if they find it annoying they won't. In terms of watching other people's Stories - I sometimes do and I sometimes don't. There are certain people I always watch right away and others I can't be bothered with at all. You can skip to the next image (tap the picture) if you're impatient with what they're showing, or skip over the person (swipe) if they're sharing too many pics/stuff you don't care about. It's not my fav feature, but it's OK.

I would rather someone over share on stories, which I can choose to watch or skip, than over share pictures, which automatically populates and clogs my feed. Either way it's mildly annoying though.

I am glad I'm not the only one who finds Instagram Story useless!
