With politics as we've made them today, I don't EVER think I'll have another Ronald Reagan type to believe in (I was too young to vote for him and not interested in politics as a younger person anyway; figures). It's always going to be picking the lesser of all evils as opposed to supporting someone I believe in. And with social media and the internet, it's 100% impossible for a candidate to perfect and clean and wholly acceptable to the public. This has actually been making the rounds on Facebook, but it cannot be verified by the LDS church Ezra Taft Benson was a prophet of the church and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. So there are some that believe that there is nothing wrong with Evan McMullin. I do agree he's better than Trump. I feel like there is also a lot of unknown things about him that do make me nervous. Then again, what experience did Obama have and look at the church he attended.

I am voting for Trump, but would NEVER tell anyone that they were wasting their vote if they chose to vote third party!
Personally, I dislike it when people say that they are going to "lose respect for" people when they vote for a certain candidate, and would never try to make someone feel bad for voting according to what they believe is best for our country.

Honestly, this is the longest our nation has been on a 2 party system with the same 2 parties leading the way...it's long overdue for an overhaul. Do I think it will happen THIS election? No, but I think this election season is putting the wheels in motion for a lot of change over the next several decades. I keep hearing THIS is not the election to vote 3rd party from people supporting the two major parties, of course. But that is every year so when IS it time to try getting away from just a two party system I'm voting for Johnson not because he aligns with all my beliefs, but because I want a strong 3rd party showing so people can see how many people will vote for one 3rd party candidate. This is me as well. Johnson seems...quirkier... Than I thought but I'm just doing it for the point.

Meh. I have never had issues with how people vote, and have recognized that people can disagree on policies and still want the best for our country... This election is different. Trump is different. I have absolutely lost respect for people I know that are voting for him, and I make no apologies for it.

The hope is the race between Clinton and Trump will be so close, that neither candidate will get 270 votes. Then it will go to the House of Representatives where someone besides Clinton or Trump will be chosen. The more Trump has opened his mouth, the less this is going to happen. I'm also in Utah, so (of course) I'm seeing this all over my feed. I just roll my eyes a little, because his statistical chances of winning are zero. I think that in order for Clinton to not get 270, Trump would have to win all of the swing states, and she was polling (last I checked) for all but two of them. At that point, the vote would be between the top 3, meaning Clinton, Trump, and one of the 3rd party candidates. McMullin is polling behind Johnson and Stein, so it's highly unlikely it would be him. And, when it comes down to the vote, does anyone think that they would really choose a third party candidate with no experience that wasn't even on the ballot in most states? I get people wanting to vote 3rd party to make a statement. I don't get people who think their third party candidate will actually be elected. (And, yes, I see a lot of people posting it like it's a foregone conclusion: if he can just take one state, aka Utah.)

I started a thread here about him back in August that didn't get much interest. I'd already decided then that there was NO way I could bring myself to vote for Trump or Clinton as they're both rotten to the core in my opinion. McMullin has not a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but if I do decide to vote for him, at least I can sleep at night knowing I didn't compromise just to vote for someone who can win. As I tell my son, everyone has one vote and they get to use it HOWEVER they want.

I've just been dismayed by many people I know thinking he truly has a shot at winning. The fake meme being generated around very much irritated me too. It's sneaky and dishonest.

I agree. I respect someone just for voting, because so many don't. It's your vote, your choice. Everyone has their own background, beliefs, and reasons.
