I haven't scrapped for a while but I decided to try and make a few cards. Pulled out my Quickutz handle and a few dies and started banging out a few die cuts. I pushed and the thing just exploded...screws and springs flying everywhere! I almost shot my puppy in the head with a screw. I googled Quickutz and I can't find much except old info a blog from 2011.
I see handles on Ebay to purchase. I know I sent my handle back once years ago to get the spring replaced. Is that even an option anymore? Have they sold to another company or are they just gone?
Thanks, Sandy

They were changed to Lifestyle Crafts a while back, but I think that's gone now too.

I just googled Lifestyle Crafts. It was bought out by WRMK in 2013.

I just googled Lifestyle Crafts. It was bought out by WRMK in 2013. ...& American Crafts bought WRMK in 2014. IIRC the various QK machines were discontinued & subsequent ownership does not offer repairs. I recommend the Sizzix Big Kick/Shot machine available at big box stores & most LSSs. It is a workhorse that allows you to use dies & embossing folders from various manufacturers, including QK. HTH

Ditto what PaperAngel said, get a Big Shot or Big Kick. You won't be sorry. If you can wait a bit, you probably can get a decent deal on one a little closer to Christmas. Michael's and JoAnn's won't let you use a coupon for it unless it's a specific coupon for Sizzix which they occasionally do. Hobby Lobby will let you use a coupon on Sizzix but not on anything Cricut or Silhouette.

I almost shot my puppy in the head with a screw. I'm glad the puppy is OK but I giggled a little.

I almost shot my puppy in the head with a screw. I'm glad the puppy is OK but I giggled a little. She's a six month old golden retriever pup and of course she thought we were playing. Had to dig that screw out of her slimy mouth along with everything else she eats that not even closely resembles any type of food! Thanks for the responses. I figured after my google search I was out of luck but the peas are the best at getting to the bottom of things. Thanks for the suggestion on a replacement too. I have a ton of dies and I hate not to be able to use them. Sandy

If you want another handle, try craigslist. I see them on there every so often.

If I were you, I definitely replace the handle with a Big Shot. It has a bigger platform, and you can use bigger dies. It opens up a whole new world.

Never used the QK, but I'm another happy Big Shot user. Might be time to upgrade

The electronic Tim Holtz machine is on clearance at Joann's for $90 (in store only).

Somewhere in my stash I have the whole setup - handle, binder, dies, etc. I never use it (in fact, I can't even find it!).
I dearly love and prefer my Cuttlebug for die cutting and embossing.
I've checked a couple of groups now and they recommend just ditching the whole QK system. There's apparently just not much interest anymore.

Another happy Big Shot user. One thing that's really great is that I can put several of my old QK dies on it and cut them all at once. And since Sizzix came out with their new 'plus' model they've lowered the price on the regular one so with a coupon you might be able to get a pretty good deal.

I see you've had the question answered, QuicKutz is WRMK now owned by AC. They call it Lifestyle but it is NOT, it is QuicKutz. I'll NEVER call it anything else! And the rest of the peas are right, go Big Shot. Dies that would NOT cut in my big blue QK handle cut beautifully in my Zip'eMate and then later in my Big Shot. I was going to send them back to QK for replacement, had talked to them but then didn't since they cut just fine in the Zip'eMate. Oh and hold out for Big Shot/Big Kick because SOME Spellbinders dies cut fine in that machine but will NOT cut in the Cuttlebug even with shims. Big Shot is just made better and does seem sturdier. Start checking Craigslist and yard sales, best if you don't have to deal with shipping. And if you can get one on sale at one of the craft store, great too.

I have one someone gave me and I've never used it. I remember how much those cost back in the day. Yikes!

The electronic Tim Holtz machine is on clearance at Joann's for $90 (in store only). This is what I'd opt for! I got mine for $70 on clearance at Michaels a couple of years ago and I love it. I also have a Big Shot and really wasn't sure if spending $70 on another cutting machine was worth it, but it definitely is!

Thank you for thinking of me like that. My nerdy engineer husband took it all apart and replaced some parts and I think I'm good to go with my old handle! Thanks everyone for the replacement ideas. If the repair doesn't hold up I'll have to replace (darn!). Sandy
