I know there is a movement on Facebook to celebrate the month of American Thanksgiving with daily gratitude posts. Many blogs have taken this on as well. I am not on fb, and don't host a blog, but would like to do something similar.
Not sure what form my project will take. A gratitude journal, maybe? A mini album of some kind--a Sn@p album or smashbook, each page illustrating my thanks with title, journaling, colour & design, and (maybe) a photo (either taken that day or one I already have on hand)? A quick post here each day, inviting others to join me?
I know a lot of you are focused on prepping for your December Daily. I have decided not to do that, but since much of my Christmas prep (baking, shopping, some decorating) takes place in November, some of those activities may show up in my gratitude poject somehow. I work best when I just roll with something and figure out the details as I go.
A couple of questions:
Wondering if anyone would like to join me in a daily post on this board with or without a link to a page or a tag or a blog or facebook post you have made?
And if we are going to do this, would it be helpful or counter productive to post a key word or prompt every day? Something that may help us focus, but which could be ignored if there are different issues rising to the top for you?

I'm doing this! This is the first year I've tried it, so not sure what to expect yet. I've started collecting ideas on Pinterest, and on days when I don't have a photo I think I'll pull a meme or a quote or something similar from there. There are more suggestions on another thread here: 2 peas refugees

I will do this! My blog is dead and this is just what I need to get it going again.

I am doing a 6x6 album. I don't think I'll be able to do my recording daily (but I plan to use a list and choose something from it that fits for that day captured with a photo...I want photos to coordinate for something I want to highlight that day, not just picking 30 things and using any old photo) but I would definitely like something to keep me motivated. I just finished sticking papers into my album so I have a starting point (I'll move pages around as needed), but I haven't done much in creating a list of things to look out for, yet. If I don't have it planned ahead, I'll struggle. Last year, I just posted something on FB (and sometimes not even on the right day, I'd play catch up the next day) every day and it was usually something that helped me with my anxiety (like being thankful the kids got along when I was having a rough day, for example) at the very end of the night, more as an afterthought than anything. The plan is to be more proactive about it this year since I really want to have a photo for each item, even if I have to tell a story in order to make the photo make sense for non obvious things.
I am thinking I'll probably end up using my selphy for a lot of the photo printing and hopefully can do a few days at a time. I know I won't be able to keep up right off the bat because the 5th and 6th I will be out of town with my husband...the aim is to find something that I can stick to knowing that I'll be gone for a weekend and my mom will be here half the month (I don't like hiding away in my office to scrapbook as I feel like I'm ignoring her).
Honestly, I don't think a daily prompt will really help me, but I'd LOVE maybe a handful of ideas on each day just in case my own list isn't inspiring for a particular day (I want to have my own list, but I'm not only open to taking inspiration from others or finding inspiration on what's going on that day...the idea is to have a place to go when I get stuck in order to keep things as simple and doable as possible). Maybe even pull from the comments? People participating could post what they were focusing on that day and maybe it could be used as some of the suggestions for the next day? As you can see, I'm long winded...if anyone else is like me and people are super busy because of the holidays starting, a good idea might end up missed, hahahaha!!

I would like to do a scrapbook for Thirty Days of Thankfulness. Not sure what size or how I'd like to go about it, but I'm in!
A daily key word or prompt would be much appreciated, even if I don't use that for that day, it might work perfectly on another.
I will probably use both pictures taken that day for this project and pull pictures that are already printed that tell the story I'm going for. I have this GORGEOUS picture of DS29 that I've been excited about scrapping...that solves that!
Between this thread and the other, I'm really excited to add one more project to my always growing list...and I LOVE a good project! Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm in, I am still thinking of what album type I want to use. Think I will focus more on the journal aspect instead of trying to have a picture of each day.
I like the idea of a daily prompt.
Good idea!

I'm thinking seriously about doing this again, my last one was in 2014. I have a Simple Stories 6x8 Snap album that I will probably use. I'll be watching this thread!

This will be my fourth or fifth year for this project. To make it doable for me I use a 6x6 album and paper pad and a couple small embellishments or stamps. I already have the album assembled. I like to focus on the journaling and add photos when I can. Certain things are repeated each year like my kids, but I like to leave room for things that come to mind as the month unfolds.
A daily prompt or list of ideas could be helpful if anyone gets stuck. I would also love to share any quotes that people have found meaningful to them.

Glad so many want to play along. I believe we see what we are looking for, and if we are looking for things we are grateful for, then gratitude will fill us. I will try to come up with a prompt each day, and figure out how to list them all in one place for quick reference. Anyone who wants to throw in some quotes, reflections or links are quite welcome as well. Love your title page, seveerb ! Hoping we can share some of our creations: I am really inspired by seeing the work of others.

I signed up for Cathy Zielskie's class as well. The one thing I took from it was it can be as simple as you want to make it. I mentally overwhelm myself wanting to make this "beautiful" album. In actuality for the first time doing it I should keep it simple. As for prompts, they can be simple as well. I love to walk and I would be thankful to have days warm enough to keep walking outdoors. Stuff like that. Or the beautiful fall leaves.

This might be fun to do in a TN! I would need to keep it very simple, since I have so many other unfinished projects in the works.

I like the idea of an ongoing album. One just for me; a gratitude journal of sorts but with photos and paper.

I have done this several times in the past. I absolutely love this project! Besides my DD, it is probably my favorite project to do. I don't do it every year and actually wasn't going to do it this year but you all got me really wanting to do it again!

I think my November 1st will be about candy tax. I'll use a photo of DS's Halloween haul and maybe this meme. I'll let the story be about celebrating holidays and allowing a couple of 'candy for breakfast' days in the year (Nov 1, Easter, Feb 15th). We don't always have to follow the rules. A couple of exceptions make life fun. (Oops, sorry it's so huge, don't know how to shrink it!)

Here is my cover. I found the mini album I wanted to use and sorted out my Thanksgiving papers and embellies. That is the extent of my prep. Every other page will be done as I get to it. May do more than one on a particularly thankful day. cover by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I was thinking of doing it with instagram and making a little book at the end of the month from each photo. That would be the only way I would be able to pull it off. But, quite frankly, even that sounds like too much work for this month.

I voted today. I was considering waiting until November so I could record it in my album, BUT I think that even if the candidate I want to win loses (not the board for that debate, lol), I can still spend a day on being thankful for having a voice in the process next week (not sure if I'll do it on the 8th as the election is unfolding or wait until results are official and create a reflection page on the 9th). I don't think my album needs 2 days dedicated to this election, lol. I can't believe that it took me until yesterday to even think about recording this in my album.

I voted early today too, but I will make a page on the 8th or 9th about being thankful to live in the USA, where we have the right to vote for whoever we want to, in spite of all the awful election stuff this year.

I like this idea. I am not a big December/Christmas person. I usually focus more on October for projects. I really want to do the thankful album, like Cathy Z has, but really don't want another separate album. And again, I'm like "do I want another project when I have so many unfinished?"
So I thought about trying to use the month to actually scrap other events from earlier in the year and at the same time make it like a thankful project by writing the journaling from that perspective. It's obvi Nov. 1st, and I don't really have it worked out yet, but I am thinking of using some of the hybrid templates I have from Cathy Z to work with. If I can at least type out the journaling and either use a photo that is already printed, or just add it to the digi page I will be happy. I don't want to focus so much on embellishing, something simple.
I really just want to use it as an excuse to get more stories told for the year.

This sounds like a wonderful way to approach this project: no added pressure to create something extra, yet expressing your gratitude AND getting some pages done that you have on the back burner. Genious! I will add your name to the list of participants in the 30 Days chat thread, but don't feel that is to pressure you into actually producing your gratitude pages.

May do more than one on a particularly thankful day. Your album is beautiful and I agree with your "do it as I get to it" philosophy. I've done Cathy Z's 30 Days of Thankful albums in the past, but this year I'm putting a different spin on the concept. I've recently started exploring mixed media and ran across a summer project called ICAD - Index Card A Day. I missed out on it so I'm doing my own TICAD - a Thankful ICAD during November. Each index card can be independent and if I'm inspired I'll do more than one that day. I've already gotten a buttery soft pocket planner set up to house the cards as I finish them. I'm excited to start today!
