I'm considering joining a kit club but I'm not sure how much of it I would like and use? What are your thoughts on this? Do you run into this? Is there a lot of stuff in it that will eventually be part of a destash project in the future?

I love kits and I love challenging myself to use the bits that are not my favorites, but that might not work for you. look at past kits offered by various clubs to see if their style matches yours or the products are things you could see yourself using. you can also try making your own stash kits. that way you know you'll love everything in it

I'm with stinkerbelle - I like the challenge of using things that I might not pick. I am often surprised at how well some things work for me even though I might have not chosen them if I had shopped by myself. And sometimes those things that I think I love are the hardest to work with. I try to kill a kit and when I think I'm done I sort it into piles: destash, use on cards, use in planner, ... the destah pile is always the smallest. Btw. I'm subscribed to the Cocoa Daisy kits.

For me, viewing the kit itself is not what motivates me to subscribe. I am completely inspired by the layouts scrappers post. If you want to see some of the kit potential, check out the company's FB or Instagram and maybe even follow some of the designers you like. I am currently subscribed to Felicity Jane and Hip Kit Club. I love them both! Citrus Twist looks pretty darn tempting too. It is rare for me to kill a kit, but I don't mind not using every piece. I'm happy to make a few layouts that I love and either add to my stash or donate the extra. Have fun choosing!

I've recently subscribed to Hip Kits. In the past I've had Studio Calico subs. For me it's a convenient way of getting a selection of products - either exclusives, or new collections or a bit of both - because some of the things here are limited.
Before I subbed to Hip Kit I organised much of my stash into kits to make it easier to use up. I seem to be more creative when I don't have so much to choose from!
I suggest having a look at a few kits clubs - check out past kits and the DT and see if you think it's your style.

I recently subscribed to Hip kits too, anniefb. I used to subscribed to Cocoa Daisy. For me I love that I get a variety of coordinating things that makes a great jumping off point. I can then add as I see fit from my stash or stay all within the kit. Some of my favorite items and pages have been from items that I would not have purchased myself. My biggest problem with kit clubs is that they send stuff monthly. I don't have enough time to use it all!!

I am three months into Felicity Jane and I love it. The colors are pretty and have a lot of black and white. It just seems really fresh and easy to use. I mostly killed my first kit, they aren't huge. What was left I relabeled in the box as "extra" and will put all my extra FJ stuff in that box. Most of it looks like it goes together, at least so far.

I ended up throwing away a lot of my studio calico, sub
Felicity Janes kits are stunning and do seem to have a better chance of leftovers matching other kits. I'm really happy with it so far

Before I subbed to any kit I would buy just one month to try it out. Most kits have way too much stuff for me to use up in one month. For me, I had to figure out what my style is and then decide if I'd actually use all of it before the new kit arrives. The only kit club that fits that bill is Felicity Jane. I do love Hip Kit's offerings but there are some things I would never use. I'd rather use their kits as inspiration for what I can buy on my own minus the things I never use. Saves me money and space.

I keep wanting to sub too. I keep looking at Hip Kit and Freckled Fawn, but I haven't been able to commit. Hip Kit, the youtubers that made the awesome layouts have multiple kits to work with, and I feel like I'd have to buy the main kit AND the embellishment kit to really get what I want, but I'm not willing to put that much out monthly just now. I love the exclusives in Freckled Fawn...the acrylic/veneer, rubber pieces, puffies, cool alphabets... I'm a mostly cardstock scrapper, so the embellishments only versus a paper kit appeals to me I think.
In all kits, I get really wary of too much pink/flowers/girlie stuff. I have boys, and I just don't use a ton of that stuff.

Add me to the wanting to sub but can't commit group. I want to do a main kit and Project Life kit. I don't know why I am so hesitant. I am not worried about killing the kit. I know I won't. Used to subscribe to a kit club years ago and loved it. That kit artist had to stop due to health reasons. I hope she is doing great now. I think I finally figured it out. My old kit club was very neutral about what she sent. She did a lot of vintage. Newer kit clubs do a lot of themes. When I look at the newer kits I see things like "I love coffee." No, I don't love coffee. I will see stickers like "I love the dog days of Summer." No, I don't. I rather drink coffee than enjoy hot Summer days. I am looking for a kit club that has pretty papers and embellishments. Not sayings that the scrapbook designer is into at the moment. I do think those things are very pretty but I am not into them at the moment. I need more "I ran Franklin over in GTA V 15 times today!" Project Life cards. I know I I will never get a kit like that. I hope I don't sound slamming. I am trying to write it sweet and cheeky. I have a fever today. jstblondie- If you are worried about not using a kit up a lot of kit subscriber's sell their unused kit items on Ebay. There are a few YouTuber's who make the best embellishments from their extra's they didn't use. moraie- I always thought there should be a kit club for us scrapper's who have mainly boys in their home. I always feel like that is the group of scrapper's that have the hardest time finding things for LO's.

The Hip Kit sub works for me right now because I'm doing a lot of scrapping - going back and working with photos from travels in the 90s that were just in ordinary photo albums. If I didn't have such a backlog of pictures, I wouldn't wouldn't sub to anything. So I view the chance to subscribe as a sort of short term thing.

The only kit club I ever sub'd too was layout kits from Scrapbook Generation. I don't work well with just a set of supplies and the whole "do your own thing". I liked getting exactly what I needed to make a predesigned layout, but I still had the freedom if I wanted/needed to cut the papers differently or work out a different arrangement based on the photos I had to work with.
