How did you get started planning? Was it a natural progression from scrapbooking? Do you enjoy it or is it just a way to keep yourself organized in a pretty book? What do you do with your planner to decorate it or do you just write dates and times in it?
Looking forward to your answers!

I started out with a coil bound planner of ballerinas and I loved that thing. It kept me organized in university and it was my lifeline. That was my first experience with planners.
I had a pocket sized planner called a techo in Japan many years ago to keep me organized and write down purchases, what classes I taught that kind of thing. It was pink and very pretty!
Then I got a maroon Filofax and I have no idea what happened to it. It was a very nice planner and it was expensive. Where did it go?
Then I started planning as a hobby. I started with a saffiano Filofax and I didn't like it very much. It is plastic and while it is a Filofax it felt very cheap. The colour was nice as it was teal but I didn't like it very much.
I have managed to accumulate a few different planners now. I have gold, pink, black, several colours of blue, red, mint and a butterfly Filofax and Forever New one from Australia. That's all i can remember right now. I am in my gold leather Kikki K and I really like it. it is easy to use, it has big rings and looking at it makes me very happy. It was in excellent condition when I got it (second hand). I will be in it for quite some time now as I love it.
We are going to travel to China in April so I am going to take some personal sized sheets with me for my gratitude journal and take the old teal Filofax to do my daily planning in I think. I want to keep a travel journal. This is what I am thinking right now anyway.

How did you get started planning? I started planning in a binder style plannerwhen I was in high school. I needed a place to keep all my work schedules, sports, and volunteer work organized. Also, we didn't have cell phones so that's also where I kept all my friend's phone numbers!
Was it a natural progression from scrapbooking? I started using a planner a few years before I started scrapbooking. Then, my planner was usually decorated with doodles and a sticker here and there.
Do you enjoy it or is it just a way to keep yourself organized in a pretty book? Both! I've tried using elecronic calendars and just can't seem to make them work for me. I'm very visual and tactile so the act of physically writing something helps me remember better.
What do you do with your planner to decorate it or do you just write dates and times in it? I like to decorate my monthly calendar with stamps, washi, and stickers. I see that part all month long so I put a bit more effort into it. I get creative here and there with my weekly section, kust depending on how I feel and how much time I have to give it. My work and home planner are usually filled with post it notes.
