This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to November! The year has gone so fast. Before long we will all be getting ready for Christmas.
I hope we will each have some time to do a little crafty, scrappy stuff too.

Good evening! Thanks so much for the new thread! Glad to see you are back safe & sound too. My laptop is slowly dying also and I totally get the s l o w thing & today I had to reset my tablet as it kept rebooting itself. After the 6th time today I reset it and I am still putting the apps back on that I use all the time. I hope you had a nice vidit. I am sure it meant a lot for your DBIL to have you there. Jana- 💞 your new look! So used to your glasses that you look so different without them. Get lots of rest while you are off! grammadee-look forward to seeing the beautiful shots from your cruise! Waging to Lisa , Kelly and all those who visit us now and then. Bbl

Hello Pokey's I have not been active on the board and have only visited the thread occasionally. I have seem some of your posts where you have all wished me well and been supportive of my need to be absent for a while. I thank you all for your kind thoughts and words of encouragement. Today I am beginning a 30 day journey of a Mission of Thanks based on these prompts, and although I may not get a single page scrapped this month (and don't forget holiday home decorating begins today too), I will be revisiting my scrapbooks when possible for these prompts. 30-Day-of-T
hankfulness-Prompts-missionofthanks- by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr So today I am thankful for the all of the wonderful places of nature that I have been able to visit in my life. Ever since I can remember when I thought of VACATION, I thought of places of wonder and beauty. I guess it was because some of my very first vacations were to Yosemite National Park Merced River 2006 by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr Half Dome 2006 by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr When the Hands Across America event occurred, I drove my two little boys out to the middle of the Mojave desert so we could stand in a place of nature to participate in the event. It is so hard to believe that I have been able to visit so many places - Yellowstone, Carlsbad Caverns, Arches, Canyonlands, Natural Bridges, Monument Valley, Cruise the Alaskan Inlet, Badlands, Kartchner Caverns, The Hidden Forest in Arkansas, The Mississippi River (just to name a few). I am so blessed, that I was able to finally move to a place that I had driven through on many occasions when vacationing with my two sons visiting my sister in Albuquerque NM, and my friend in Roswell NM. This little piece of high desert that I call home. Most people would not dream of living in this little town that does not have much to offer, but to me, it is so peaceful and so beautiful here in the high desert on my little acre, where I have some of the best views to be had. MORIARTY SUNRISE by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr MOON OVER MORIARTY
by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr SATURDAY SURPRISE by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr So today, I am going to think about all the places I have been blessed to visit, the wonders I have seen and felt but I need to find that same peace and joy that I find when I am traveling right here in my little piece of nature at home. All the scrapbook pages are old ones that I have created, it is feeling good to revisit my pages - these all happen to be my digital ones. Again, I thank you all for thoughts during my absence and hopefully my Mission of Thanks project will be fun for you to visit. Have a wonderful and happy Pokey Pea Day!

Good to hear from you, maribeth ! And glad you are finding ways to come back to yourself. Lovely pages, and thank you for sharing your heartfelt reflection. Wondering if you would like to join a bunch of the peas who are doing our own 30 days of Thankful ? That link is for the chat. There will be a new prompt added each day. I hope to get some Christmas cards done this morning. Then I need to get gas and run a couple of errands before picking up the little guy from daycare. I am staying with him tonight as both parents will be out of town. Hoping he is not too unsettled by all the excitement yesterday and having his parents gone. One other thing I hope to do is get my travel photos printed along with the gk photos my kids have posted over the past month. That should get me well set up for scrapping over the next few weeks. Edited to add: here are 4 cards I put together today. Pretty simple: just using the paper line and a few extras. 2016 Kc Frozen 1-4 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a a great tuesday, Ladies!

Happy Tuesday! I think Fall is finally here in So Cal. We had rain and cooler temps recently. Yeah! LOL! Nylene thanks for keeping us going with this new thread. I have been busy lately and last night my dh and I volunteered for the church's "Trunk or Treat." I had never heard of this type of Halloween party but apparently it is pretty popular. So we helped with the dinner. This was my first time in ages volunteering and I did have fun. After all the prep. We served hotdogs, chips in our area. They also had pumpkin pie and chili in other areas. They had a great turn out and the families had a great time. They had a puppet show, two huge bounce slide house things, and of course two long rows of cars all decorated and handing out treats. Boy, when we got home... we were sooooo tired. LOL! I can't remember when we went to bed so early.
You ladies have made some super cute layouts/cards and I have got to get to the gallery to see them. I not sure what happened to my Christmas card mojo but it should reappear I hope before Christmas!!!! LOL!
grammadee - Glad to see you are getting back to your regular routines after that big trip and your loss. Any more special cooking this week? I want to do some more baking later this week.
nylene - Hang in there with your computer issues. Hopefully your new one will be set up soon.
maribeth - So glad to see you back!!!! Oh and you are starting your holiday deco and I know that will be great joy for you.
knutschen - Oh la la!!!! Look at your new pic. You look extra pretty. Have a nice time at your crop.
scrapincin - Your big game is tonight! Do you have any nerves left? Go Cleveland!!!
LisaDV - Hope you and your family are well and enjoying yourselves. Waving hello!

30 Days of Thankful - Day Two - Food Boy am I thankful for food. First off if we didn't have food, well folks we would not be here! But I just adore food, and tooo much so. I have this love hate relationship with food. I know I need it, but for me it is just darn hard to stop eating it. I mean I will overindulge on even the healthiest of food. Carrot sticks, oh yea most people will eat a 1/2 a cup or maybe even a cup snacking while watching game 6 of the Workd Series. But me, noooooooo, I will eat a pound or more...... I just love food. And to go along with that, today is National Deviled Egg Day! I am thankful that I am able to provide for my husband and I so that we have plenty to eat, that is where having that job comes in handy right! Pokey's you all have just the most wonderful day! kellyr21 - I wish I could say it will bring me joy this year, but I am going to be fraught with worry. With our new little rescue kitty I am going to be having to watch my decorations very closely this year. I need to tell you all about the kitty rescue story.

Hello everyone. I am home from my night staying with the little man. He was sooo good! We went out to Dairy Queen for supper, where the proprietor insisted he take some candy before the meal. I talked him into saving the lollipop to eat when we walked the dog later. That went well, and then he wanted to play with play dough for awhile before bedtime routine. He had a bit of a crying jag at bath time, missing mommy & daddy, but we got through that and he was sound asleep before 8PM. After I dropped him off at daycare, I picked up the photos I had ordered from WalMart, so am now well prepared for travel pages, Halloween pages, calendar pages, and my 30 days of thankful album. Came home and worked on a couple of pages for the gratitude album and then had a nap. Glad to hear you will finally getting a faster computer, nylene . It is really frustrating when you KNOW how quickly this could be done! kellyr21 , you asked about "special cooking" projects. Tomorrow I plan to cook up some pumpkins. Then I can make loaves and/or muffins on Friday. Made pork hock/ bean soup last week. Sometime in the next week, I hope to make a grocery run for Christmas baking supplies. November is the month I bake all my little cookies. Then I have them for pot lucks and card parties and whatever in December. Annual favorites are almond crisps, gingerbread cookies, butter tarts and choco cherry bells. If I do nothing else, I HAVE to do those. Dh does the regular grocery shopping, but I need to go to get my special supplies. (They don't often appear in the Co-op grocery sale flier ) You got ahead of me, maribeth in the gratitude album: I plan to post a prompt about Comfort Food sometime during the month, and maybe include some photos or recipes of my fall favorites when I do my page. Have a good evening, Ladies!

Mission of Thanks - Day Three - Teachers Well I guess I first need to give a big shout out to nylene, grammadee and justjac for I Beleive I have see you all post that you have or are currently teaching. Teaching is such a wonderful thing to do. However I know that it can be challenging. I know because as a child I was not a good student and I was not respectful to my teachers. Teachers are often faced with tremendous challenges, and the fact that they march on and continue to try to get their students interested and involved should be humbling to the rest of us. Teachers are not given enough credit. And today Teachers, it is your day! Today I say thank you to all the teachers out there.

Thanks, maribeth . I think sometimes it's hard to see us teachers as people, too. Here is my page for the November Bonus challenge: the November page for the 2017 family calendar. Feels good to have this one done. november 2017 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr One more page (October) and the cover to go. I have a photo of dh and me for the cover. I had planned to put in a ship photographer page which highlights a photo of me for October, but I might design the page around the group shot of my 4 "kids" instead. Again, if I used that approach, not sure if I should use the one with me in the group (dh was in the hall and because one of the "boys" was in a hurry to get away with commitments at the other end, we didn't take the time to go get him.

Hello to everyone, Some great pages and cards have been shared already. maribeth, love, love, love your post on thankful for nature. I'm working on cleaning and organizing as my dh wants to let his brother come up for hunting in November, which I do NOT allow people here except workers. However, I said ok, and now that includes the 2 nephews. This house is not even close to show worthy. Plus it's the smallest house we've ever lived in with no storage. So we're just not ready for people. I'm sure that I'll turn into a raving lunatic as the visit gets closer. Also, I had the fireplace people out for an inspection and cleaning. The bricks inside have fallen and we can't burn this winter. UGH! I was hoping for another 3 years as we want to do an addition and make a double fireplace there and would be redone at that time. We've been under the weather. DD was sick after the grandpa visit and ds for about 1.5 days, while I was a bit run down during the last part of the week. But Don came home from work last Friday and proceeded to be sick on Saturday. I thought he had succumbed to the bug that everyone had/fought that week, but NO, he couldn't be nice like that. He had a worse bug which included a high fever, and ds came down with it by Saturday evening. He's better now. DD got it yesterday as did I. This morning I couldn't fathom cleaning anything, so I've been organizing things, which takes far less energy in my opinion. (My sister would disagree, she would rather clean than organize any day, and I'm the opposite.) It's now after 2 and what I want is a nap. Since I'm in the midst of 2 projects, I should at least finish one today. So I guess the slave driver boss within is cracking the whip. Hope everyone has a great week.

My computer is up and running. I don't have everything on it that I need yet, but Doug got it up and going and told me to use it and figure out what things we need to put back on. I have a running list. LOL! It is FAST. I hope it stays fast when everything is put back on. My photos are still on the old one. So far the Silhouette doesn't work, but he will work on that tonight, I think. I think it needs a driver. None of my bookmarks are up yet, but I can survive. maribeth, I am loving your list and your comments about your gratefulness. Love your nature photos. I love teachers also and am glad for a teacher who took the extra time with me to teach me to read when I struggled. Then I grew up and married her son!! Keep those posts coming. You do my heart good grammadee, your busyness makes me tired. I don't know how you do all that you do. I love that layout. Is that snow for this year...do you still have lots? I look forward to seeing your trip photos scrapped. Your 2017 calendar sounds wonderful. What a great family gift. kellyr21, I'm hoping to bake my cupcakes tonight to practice. Alyssa's b-day is next week and if I am successful, I'll make some for her party. BTW, today is my Angie's b-day. I'm not sure she registered here after 2peas closed. She is not doing a lot of scrapping right now. Just chasing children! I'm glad you enjoyed trunk-or-treat. We do that here about every other year. We live on the outskirts of our Ward though, so we get kids at the house too. scrapincin, I'm so sorry your Indians lost. It looked like maybe they would win it. They did a great job, though. You can be very proud of them. Hang in there, there's always next year! How was your Halloween? Did you have lots of trick-or-treaters? LisaDV, I'm sorry you have a houseful of sickies! That's no way to enjoy a beautiful Fall. I hope everyone gets over it quickly. I'm sorry you have no energy for cleaning. You are so kind to have house guests when you don't feel prepared. If they are male, they won't even notice what you did or didn't get done. At least that's how it is around here. As long as they have a bed and food to eat they are happy. Best wishes to you as you get ready. I'm sorry about your fireplace. I know you were counting on using it. Hang in there, my friend. I'm sure I have forgotten things I wanted to comment on. I will get back on later when more parts of this great machine are working!!

Well the World Series is over and even though we lost it was fun to watch! Both teams played hard! It was nice to have been able to participate!Oh well you know what they say Maybe next year . Now maybe I can get back to my scrapbooking! I finished my cards but need to photograph them so I can post them and share them with you. I had to go buy another freezer today as I did not have room in the one I have for the beef I have coming. So I got a smaller oner-15.7 cubic feet. I hope to fill it with homemade dinners for nights when I don't feel like cooking and I am not a fan of fast food. nylene - our trick or treat was last Saturday and it was nice. I have pics of the grands but need to scrap them. That is next on my list. I hope you like your new computer. What kind did you get? LisaDV - So sorry to hear you guys are passing that bug around. Hope you all get better fast! I also was sad to read about your fireplace-so sad when you were wanting to use and enjoy it. Were you going to heat your home with it? We have good friends who heat their home with a wood burning stove! It is always warm and toasty there. kellyr21 - It sounds like you truly enjoyed working at your church dinner! Glad to hear your weather is starting to catch up with the calendar. Of course it has been in the 70's here this week. Maribeth and Jana it is so nice to see you stopping by ythe thread-we so enjoy chatting with you. Here are my two Christmas Cards for 2016 IMG_9412-2 by Cindy Blair, on Flickr IMG_9403-4 by Cindy Blair, on Flickr Going to get off of here and try to accomplish something. Have a good evening all!

Day 4 of Mission of Thanks - Freedom
WOW! Now that is a heavy duty subject. With the intense election coverage this election year we are certainly reminded everyday how important it is that we make good decisions when using our freedom to vote. Seeing the destruction in Syra and Iraq that is currently taking place again brings home the fact of how blessed I am to be living in the Land of the Free. I am not sure there is actually anything to be more grateful for than Freedom. I am feeling very blessed today! This was a good prompt!

Oh LisaDV hope you are all feeling better SOON!!! First thing I found out when I got home was when the flue shots were scheduled, and dh and I went in last week to get ours. And they advised us to get a pneumonia booster shot as well, so did that too. So hoping the fall flue season passes us by... Love your cards, scrapincin . That print n cut one is SO elegant. Makes me--almost LOL--want to figure out how to use the draw and print function on my Cricut. Hate to even admit it, but we now have THREE full freezers! I tend to freeze leftover meals a lot, and think I need to start using some of those meals. Used to take them for lunch at work, but will need to start using them for lunches or dinners around here. What with those, and the beef we get each year, plus the garden veggies, and the frozen baking, plus all the stuff dh NEEDS to stock up on "on sale", that pretty much takes up all the space. Glad your new computer is up and running, nylene . Hopefully the little glitches will be worked out soon. My computer is fast enough most times, if I shut it down periodically to let it rest. Our internet is pretty slow out here, but I am thankful that it works at all. When I think of where we came from, it is totally amazing we can communicate in real time with people all over the world... maribeth , it's nice to have you back, and I am enjoying your gratitude mission posts. Freedom is another prompt I hope to add to the 30 Days of Thankful threads. So far, I am thankful that I have been able to keep up with my own list of prompts and the pages to go with them. I am trying to keep a couple of days ahead in case I don't have time or energy to complete a page on some future day. I finished my October calendar page yesterday. Decided to go with the photo of the "kids" and me. Wanted to do the cover but can't seem to find the photos I was so sure I had printed for that. Of course they aren't in the tub with the calendar pages where any sane person would have put them... Made a list of what I need to print when I am near a printshop again. Since I need to go to a printshop to copy the calendars, I may just do the cover page and then hope to print the photos and attach them there. october 17 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Today my focus is doing something with the pumpkin I cooked up yesterday. I am thinking pumpkin loaves... Hmmm... will need to take something OUT of the freezer for supper so the excess loaves fit INTO the freezer...

Hi guys, is it just me and the new computer or have all the signatures turned into little boxes? It just started this morning. scrapincin, how is the swelling in your legs? I hope the meds have helped. I love, love, love your new cards. That print and cut is so cool. I need to do that more so I'll remember how to do it. Right now none of my shapes show up in the Sil. and the computer can't talk to the Sil. but that should clear up as Doug gets the files from my old computer. I was rooting for your Indians. Sorry this wasn't their year to win. My new computer is a Dell. The tower is about half the size of my last one. Tiny little thing. My keyboard has actual letters...I wore the letters off my last one by indexing genealogy records. grammadee, I can't believe you have 3 full freezers. Can we come live with you this winter? I'm glad you are well supplied! Your calendar is going to be wonderful. I love your October page. You have a beautiful family. maribeth, thank you for your posts about gratitude. You warm my heart each day. I am so grateful to live in this free land. I am very unhappy with the low class tone the elections have taken. But I am grateful that I have the opportunity to vote. We voted by mail this year. I, too, look at the refugees streaming out of Syria and wonder what I did to be born here. My heart hurts for those in harms way. I spent yesterday hemming a dress for my granddaughter. She sings with a wonderful college Choir and her dress was way too long. She forgot to bring the shoes she wears, so it may be a little too short. I left 2 inches in case we need to lengthen it again. She doesn't usually wear heels, so it may be ok. They have lots of concerts and performances scheduled in the next 2 months. They often sing for large company parties. I'm crossing my fingers that I made it long enough. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Happy Friday! This month is already moving. The next we know it will be Thanksgiving. Wishing you all a nice weekend! grammadee- Yummy! I know your pumpkin treats are gonna be good. I have never made pumpkin pie or even cooked pumpkin before. Do you cut it and roast it? nylene- Yippee, you are up and running with your computer. Your sil is so helpful and happy he can help you out. I still have the baking bug and want to make more cupcakes and even a cake. Let me know how yours turn out. LisaDV- Hope you all are feeling better. Have you been watching anything new on Netflix? scrapincin- Congrats to your team. Maybe next year they can do it. But it was an amazing game and so memorable with all the history. I don't think we well ever forget this game! I missed the parade today but I did see a few pictures. I can imagine the city shut down with all those folks celebrating. Oh and your cards look great! Go girl! maribeth- You got a kitten now? How cute! But I know your creativity will show you how to do your Christmas deco with the kitty in mind.

Hi ladies! TGIF and I hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks for your kind words about my cards. Going to try to scrap this evening since tv is not too good on Fridays nights. Maybe I will look for something on netflix. nylene- My legs are still swollen-I do not think this dose of lasix is doing any more then what I was already on. I see him in a week or so so we will see what happens. As for the Silhoutte you will have to do a recover of your library in order to get it on your new computer. You go to the studio store and then to your account there are several things listed there. There are a couple choices and you will need the recover. I had to laugh when you said you wore the letters off the keyboard as OI am doing the same thing. I have worn off the a and o already! I will be baking cookies tomorrow for the club is having a pheasant shoot for qualified kids this weekend and I volunteered to bake for the dinner. They have to have taken the hunting class in order to participate. No Maggie is not going-she said she does not want to kill anything. I guess she just likes shooting targets. Well going to get off then head for the scraproom!

Good morning ladies. Kind of dreary around here this morning. If we get some light, I will photograph some of the cards I created with black card bases. Need lots of light for them to photograph properly, but they are really quite pretty. I used Carta Bella "Special Delivery" pp and other black & gold elements. Will need something light on the inside to write on. Might have to open up my Cricut and cut some3D liners. I plan to attend a funeral for a cousin this afternoon. She has been ill for quite awhile, so this is not a surprise, but still... Not sure if any of my brothers will be there, but if they are, we may have overnight company tonight. Guess I should finish the cleaning upstairs I started yesterday. Too funny, nylene re: your comment about spending the winter here. Besides the freezers, I have a year's worth of carrots in the fridge and a root cellar full of potatoes and onions. My kids say that if there is ever a natural disaster, they are all coming here. Not sure how we would keep the freezers cold in a disaster, but dh has been focussed on getting a portable generator up and running in case the power does go off for any extended period. It has the capacity to take on the house power, and we actually have the hookup for doing that, but he has it fixed up so he can run it from his garden tractor to provide him with electricity for power tools around the yard. Love that you are baking cookies for your dgd's event, scrapincin Pumpkin pie is easy, kellyr21 if you buy the frozen pie crusts to bake it in. Takes me 2 days, though. The first day, I cut the pumpkin in half with a large knife, then use a paring knife to scrape out the seeds and take off the skin. Then I cut the "meat" into pieces and boil until soft. Drain it overnight and then it is ready for any recipe I want to use it for. If you have a couple of days, it is definitely something you could do. And post Halloween, pumpkins should be available in grocery stores fairly cheap. If you don't have 2 days, you can always use canned pumpkin. Have a great weekend, Ladies! Sun came out. Here are my cards: 2016 CB 1-6 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr LisaDV , I hope your family is on the mend. scrapincin , I hope your doctor can find a way to reduce that swelling in your legs.

Hi all, Thanks for the well wishes. Yesterday, I sat and just sorted through boxes and boxes of stuff while watching movies. It's made a huge dent in the craft room, which also is the office, the treadmill, the bathroom closets. Since last fall when the work started for leveling the house, I'd have to pack up sections and then they'd be put inside the craft room. So one whole section of floor space was unusable and piled high. I can now see the floor, well in spots. But at least I feel like my sick time is still somewhat productive. that counts for something. scrapincin, love your cards. We do use our wood burner for heat, but we have a furnace too. It's just the wood burner really knocks the chill out of the air and the furnace does not. How many people are you cooking dinner for? I think that's awesome. nylene, so glad you have a fast computer now. You'll have everything back in no time I'm sure. How did the cupcakes come out? grammadee, Great page. We have 2 freezers full as well. I want to make another meat order but need another freezer first, which means I need the electrician to come out first. So probably not this year. waving hello to maribeth, kellyr21, and all others.

Mission of Thanks Day Five - Friendship Well isn't this prompt just perfect for me. I have so valued the Friendship I have found here with you all knutschen , kellyr21 , justjac , grammadee , scrapincin , LisaDV and nylene . The support and kinship on this Thread is amazing. I do not have and close friendships that live nearby. My BFF from high school lives about 5 hours away, and we don't get to see each other very often, but when we do get together it is very special. I also have reconnected with some childhood friends on facebook and it is nice to have them as a part of my life even though it is only online. I do feel however, that even those I have limited interaction with (my office mates, nail technician, etc, for example), that they know they have a friend in me should they ever need one. I think there are many degrees of friendship, and I am grateful that I have some of all of those in my life. maribeth- You got a kitten now? How cute! But I know your creativity will show you how to do your Christmas deco with the kitty in mind. Thank you for your vote of confidence Kelly, I certainly am trying to come up with a good plan. I just returned home from a lovely morning getting my hair trimmed and a wonderful facial. Have a spectacular Saturday ladies. I am hoping to get some crafting done today.

maribeth, I am hoping you will tell us the story of the new kitty. Thanks for the new gratitude prompt. I, too, am so grateful for my online friends. I have a few close friends who live around me, but I'd have to say my very best friends are my daughters. I'd rather spend an afternoon with them than any other friends who live close. I am very grateful that I have such a great relationship to my girls. I know that is not always the case. I'm jealous of your hair trim. I have let mine grow (why, I don't know) and it's driving me nuts. I would like to wear it up, but can't seem to figure out how to do that. It is brushing my shoulders for the first time in 40 years. scrapincin, I saw that you sent another email last night, but I'm having trouble getting it to pull up. Another little glitch. I can probably get it by later in the day. Little by little I am getting new things added that I need. Doug worked on it remotely after I went to bed last night. He got my printer going and got the computer to talk to the Sil. I was able to restore the DE version key today and restore the files I bought from Sil. But none of the files I bought elsewhere are there. Nor are the files I made myself there. Did I just lose those? I saved many of them to the hard drive, but certainly not all. Maybe we can get them off the old one. I am sorry you are still having swelling issues. I hope when you see him again soon he can find a better solution. Swollen feet, ankles and legs hurt! Hugs to you. I had to laugh at Maggie not wanting to kill something. She's a cutie. You are kind to help with treats. kellyr21, my cupcakes are sitting unfrosted. To many things got in the way. If I don't get to them tonight, I will freeze them and then do it Monday. Have you done any more. I think you would enjoy making a pie. If the cooking of the pumpkin sounds too complicated, use the canned pumpkin and follow their recipe. Turns out nice! LisaDV, I wish you could just lie down and rest until you are better. Moms just don't get that opportunity. Hang in there and shoo those germs out of your house. We used to heat our house with just a wood burning stove. But we live in a valley against the mountains and there is such a heavy inversion every winter that they have banned stoves and wood fireplaces for most days during the winter. When we remodeled in 2000 we took it out and installed a big furnace. grammadee, yes, in a natural disaster I'm heading to your house! You are very prepared. I wish I were more so. I love the Christmas cards with the black base. Just elegant. Left you some love in the gallery. Well, I better get off so Doug can get on and do some more. Hugs to all of you. Have a great weekend.

Left you some love in the gallery. Come on down! (or "up" if you are using a traditional map LOL) Today is a L-O-N-G Sunday. Feeling sorry for those with young kids who were up on Daylight Saving Time this morning. Dh is not happy with this time change: he much prefers more light at the end of the afternoon. He has gone to the neighbour's for coffee, so I have a little time to do some crafting. Did my gratitude journal page, and finished a couple of Halloween pages using photos dd & dil sent me last week. carving pumpkins by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Carving pumpkins 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have at least 2 more pages to do to use up the photos on their dressing up and trick-or-treating activities. Have a great Sunday, Ladies!

Thanks for the comments on my new profile photo. kellyr21 , that was actually taken in December 2015 on my wedding day. I was getting extra pretty for my big day! DH and I was heading to meet with the minister to marry us. I actually had my contacts in at that time since I hadn't had my eye surgery yet. nylene , I don't need glasses anymore which is wonderful!! I actually have another appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. I am trying to get used to the monovision which he said is tricky since I don't need reading glasses yet but close to needing them in a few years. I just got back today from my scrapbooking weekend. It was a blast as always!! I got a couple of layouts done and started on a third. I had organized all the paper that I had with me into themes and hope to complete with the rest of my stuff that was at home. I really want to get my scrap room in better organization. I am hanging out at the coffee shop and they will be closing soon! I hope to check in again before heading back to work later this week.

Mission of Thanks - Day 6 - Anything (oops I forgot yesterday) and Day 7 - Gifts Day 6 - Anything - well since I spent ALL day the house ready for Holiday Home Decorating and the prompt is Anything - I am thankful to have gotten as much done as I did. I had an idea what I would be able to get completed, and I far exceeded that. Hubby was able to get all the lights on the fence. Yay, we are on our way. Day 7 Gifts - Well today I am thankful that I got three gifts ordered for my husband. He is hard to buy for, he has everything he needs. I often buy him things that he has a hard time spending money on for himself. He does not have any hobbies so I can't go that route. nylene - I will try to get to the kitty catching story later today. Have an excellent Monday Pokey's.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are having a nice day so far. Not much going on here but I did get a little flicker of my Christmas card mojo light coming back. So today will be seeing about that. knutschen- No wonder you looked extra beautiful on your new avatar!!! You looked so happy and lovely. Did you ever do a layout about your wedding day? I did some about mine years ago before I really know the tips and tricks of scrappin'. I should go back and look at those pages again. I am glad to hear your eyes are getting better and better. Your crop sounds like fun. I still haven't been to big one like that but maybe I can find a local one. nylene & grammadee- Pumpkin pie you ladies mentions does seem pretty easy. Maybe I will try to make one this holiday. nylene- You made your cupcakes! Have you decided what color and/or flavor you are gonna try? I went to M's yesterday and got another tip for making layered flowers and a container of icing. So this week I hope to practice a new rose flower I saw on a video. I like that I can make lots of them and freeze them for later use on a cake or cupcake. scrapincin- I see your Browns are struggling and so are my Rams. These is a lot of talk out here about why the coach isn't using our first round draft pix quarterback yet. Apparently, earlier this year, we gave up some good players to get this guy and we will haven't played him yet. Boy oh boy! So I don't know what we will do but it is still very exciting having pro football back in town. Waving hi to you all and have a super duper evening!

Good Monday evening, Ladies. The first few days after time change seem soooo long, and I am not even going into work! After being gone a month and then coming back to the funeral, I seem to be in a bit of a fog and never sure what day it is. justjac called last night to set up a Christmas card making date, and I realized I didn't have a clue what was happening over the next few weeks. Then this morning dh started asking me about possible commitments. So we got out a calendar and started filling things in. Also texted the "kids" and confirmed some stuff with them. And we wrote it down so hopefully I can get back on track. So far... I will be driving to Calgary this Thursday to spend the weekend with the "kids" and dgk's. Driving back Sunday. Hoping to pick up some Christmas baking supplies on the way home, so I can start on that project when I get a couple of days. Next week, dh & I have ordered tickets for justjac's play for Wednesday. Then I hope to host a Christmas card making gathering at the house here on Saturday the 19th. On the 20th, dh & I plan to attend the brunch performance of the local theatre group's Christmas production. The weekend of November 26th is the Christmas Extravaganza in town and we are expecting dd & family to join us for that. Hoping they can help me liberate the Christmas tree and some essential Christmas décor in the basement so I can get going on THAT the week following. First weekend in December I will be grandparenting a couple of little boys while their folks go to Las Vegas. Then from the 13th to the 20th, I will be in Abottsford with the girls while their folks are in Mexico. Christmas will be at our home for ourselves plus at least one of the kids' families, maybe two. Then dh & I will head down to Calgary for New Years. To finish off all this planning, I booked airline tickets for dh & I to go to Abbotsford at the end of January to watch the girls in their Ukrainian dance performance. Not a lot done today, but a lot of organizing and planning, and it feels like a full days' work. Scrapwise, I was able to finish another gratitude journal page, as well as finish off the pages with the Halloween photos. Some elements are still drying, but hope to get some photos tomorrow. Whew!!! Now I just have to follow myself around and finish everything I set out to do

Mission of Thanks - Day 8 - Color
Well this one is a no brainer. Since my husband is color blind I am often reminded just how grateful I am that I can see color. I love color. When I was young I had a favorite color, but now I enjoy having lots of different colors in my life. And just think what scrapbooking would be like without color.

Good afternoon, Ladies. I hope all is going well with you. Haven't heard from some of you for a few days. Did some cleaning and sorting--and searching for stuff--today. Getting ready to leave tomorrow for a few days with kids and grandkids. Then on Monday, I am going to spend a crafty day with justjac, so I am putting everything I might need into a tub. Will probably--as usual--have too much stuff, and I know if I forget something I can always swing by the LSS or borrow from Jac, but trying to be a little organized before I put the tub in the vehicle. I also have a list of photos I want printed for the family calendar cover, and I had to do a search for the camera cards they are on. Plus I am missing a bunch of memory sticks--ironic, isn't it???--which have the farm aerial photos stored on them. I want to order some canvasses with a large photo on each, but can't for the life of me find the sticks. Managed to copy the photo I want from my portable hard drive to another stick, but still... Frustrating because I want to give each of the kids their own stick with ALL of the photos plus the slideshow the company provided. The good news is that in all this I did a pretty good tidy of the bedroom Not so good in here, I'm afraid, but that can be done another day. I started the day working on my Gratitude album, so I now have pages ready to post each day while I am gone and a few extra. Not sure if that helped my mood, but it's something in the DONE column. Hope you all have a great day!
