... with a conservative radio talkshow host from another state, and his minions. I was told to go to my "safe space" by several people, so here I am. I was also called a libtard several times, told that there are no smart liberals (then accused of being smug), told by several people that Trump is a great guy and not corrupt at all. I actually didn't need a safe place until they started saying that. Seriously, that guy and his followers are loons. They wouldn't last five minutes here.

And their "side" never seems to see how offensive they are and are so sure they are right and ANYTHING said any name called is ok.
Go back and tell them that Melenia is going to bust them for being cyber bullying

Lol. Glad to have you back.
I used to think I was a Republican, then the Republican Party chose Trump. Now, I not sure what I am, but I know I'm neither of the two main parties. I keep waiting for someone to say 'April Fool's' or 'Wake Up! You've been dreaming!' Surely this election can't be real?,.,

I hate the name calling of a general group...libtards, ( what is the conservative equivalent?). Libtards is particularly irritating as they are using retarded to put down liberals. I don't like the use of that word in an instance, but it shows their demeanor.

The second you think either party is not corrupt (in several ways) is when you know you just haven't done your research or have your head in the sand.

I don't like the extreme left leaning agenda, but there is absolutely nothing that would make me vote for Trump

There are some who are in it for themselves. It is when you get the GROUPS or the parties that the corruption begins. I want it to be Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Jen When I told the main guy that none of his "proofs" actually said what he claimed they did, he got mad and declared himself the winner (I'm guessing that's what IOK You means) and passive-aggressively wished me a good evening. He was also quick to dismiss Trump's confessions of sexual assault and ogling teenage pageant contestants as "dirty talk." Super guy.

his would be funny if it wasn't so scary. I said basically the same thing on another thread. The amount of people out there being willfully ignorant and refusing to acknowledge facts is truly disturbing.

I don't like the use of that word in an instance, but it shows their demeanor. I think it's Roobs. I don't go for any name calling. The second you refer to someone as Libtard, Roob, Killary, or Chump, I can no longer take you seriously and the discussion will end. ETA: when I say you, I mean general you.

He was also quick to dismiss Trump's confessions of sexual assault and ogling teenage pageant contestants as "dirty talk." The repeated refusal to understand that it's not words like "pussy" that were the problem; and that it was the word "GRAB" (without consent) that was the problem is just mind-boggling.

I should add - this all came about because this guy (from another state, halfway across the country) posted to my local teacher's union's account wondering if they were lawyering up to defend an area teacher who has been accused of hitting a child (deplorable and indefensible). The answer was no, because she doesn't teach in our district. But the guy who runs the Twitter account for the union was a little sassy about it, and so the radio host made some comments about terrible teachers and unions and tenure which he later deleted, after finding out that we don't have bargaining unions or tenure.
He's not the brightest bulb.

Ugh. I'm so sorry. Some folks think that only happens on the other side of the aisle. Yet this week on my own fb page I made the mistake of stepping my toe into politics on my page. There ended up a huge conversation. The back and forth between one Hillary supporter and one of my friends who is a Trump supporter was pleasantly respectful. But then I saw a few other people ever so politely insult him, probably not thinking they did.
One person asked if he had a job (implying he didn't as a Hillary supporter), and another asked something equally personal, each time he responded very respectfully but didn't back down. And he got told "please don't reply, I'm done talking to you" by the person who insulted him!
I had a private conversation with him, apologizing and I threatened to delete the whole conversation. He was greatly great about the whole thing.

Twitter has been the place for me to go when I'm feeling particularly anxious about the election. It usually works, unless I dig too deeply into replies to Tweets. That's when I come upon the stuff that makes me despair for humanity.
I was called a libtard on Facebook yesterday. Fun times

I started my Twitter account for professional communication, as I'm trying to become more widely involved in our city's arts education community, so that's why the real name. I almost never tweet anything and have only a handful of followers, so I'm a total Twitter fail. But arguing on the internet is nooooo problem for me! I just really dislike confining myself to 140 characters ...

I almost never tweet anything and have only a handful of followers, so I'm a total Twitter fail. Me too! Being a widely followed, prolific tweeter takes way more dedication than I have for things like that. The 140 character thing can be maddening at times. I do love it for quick and dirty updates on breaking news. It's been one of the best ways for me to find out about breaking weather (fire and storm) stuff back home.

SaveI'm sure he thought he'd score points with his followers for dissing public school teachers and a teachers' union on his page, and that the union would never respond back. Of course, he deleted his tweet after the union pointed out he was wrong. No fun if you can't score points ...

Be careful. "Uppity women" easily become targets on Twitter and with your full name on there, online trouble can become real life trouble. I've seen it happen way too many times for innocuous things.
