Day Seven prompt: Let's celebrate all the ways that TECHNOLOGY makes our lives more enjoyable. I am not a very techy person, but as they say, you don't always appreciate fully what you have until its gone. My internet access wasn't exactly gone when we were on our cruise, but I had to pay for it by the minute, so I was VERY aware of any time I logged into my shipboard internet account. I saved it for checking and sending emails home. We joked about wanting to Google information every time we had a discussion, but no one wanted to pay for the online time to fact check. I also realized how much I normally use the internet to relax at the end of the day, checking websites, even playing Microsoft solitaire daily challenges. Also, my European texting package did not include imessaging, so even when we were in port, many of my normal contacts were cut off. Yet it was technology that kept me connected to family at home, to be aware of what was happening here. And I was immensely grateful for that. That isn't to say I DON'T appreciate the technology that makes my life so much easier than my mothers' ever was. I love being in touch with grandkids, getting photos of their adventures in the long weeks between visits. I like being able to check out information in the middle of a discussion. I like having options, and satellite TV and uTube provides tons of those. And I appreciate the irony of playing with paper while my washing machine is washing clothes, my drier is checking another load so it reaches optimum dryness, the dishes are getting clean and I have a roast in the oven on timer. Love your layout!
I'm hoping to have time to dye my hair tomorrow, and if so I will use that with the story about how I kept getting the senior citizen discount when I had short white hair after chemo. It stung each time it happened because at the time I was 44 or 45. As soon as I was cleared to dye it again THAT no longer happened!
If that doesn't happen, I will go with technology and how we are able stay in contact with each other. That's a really good one!

I find technology a two edged sword, on the one hand, yes, I LOVE it, Google is my favorite you can find out about anything. I love the boards, I love my FaceBook games, My prized possession is my computer, and I am so worried when we go away that our house my get robbed I take my home computer and leave it at work. And TV oh my words, I have one in every room and one in the garage. I LOVE TV it is on all the time.
But then again, when we are camping, even thought I take my laptop and often have cell signal that my hot spot can access, we very rarely turn it on. Same with the TV, we seldom turn it on, and if we do it is usually to catch the local weather so we can plan our adventures.

Good topic to scrap. Technology has become a huge time suck for me if I don't watch myself. My favorite thing is my Kindle. I much prefer it to paper books.
