It's been exhausting I feel. I cannot wait for my Facebook feed to return to pictures of children and posts about dinner. I am ready for it to die down and us to move forward.

California is solidly blue right now so most of the tv ads here are for the tons of different measures and for local offices. we do have a US Senate race going but that's not even close. today I'm sitting down with my sample ballot to go over those measures so I don't slow down what will probably be a long and slow voting line tomorrow. It makes me crazy when people don't do their research and fill out their sample ballot before heading to the polls! That is NOT the time to start thumbing through the bazillion of pages of the voter's guide to decide how to vote.

I know how I want to vote. I'm just marking my boxes to remove to remind myself so I can speed through the voting and not tie up the booth.

I'm the odd man out then because I LOVE election seasons. The news cycle is fast and furious and not the same boring stuff repeated over & over. Everyone has an opinion and we turn off the TV and TALK to each other more. I treat it like NFL season I sport my team's colors, and wave my team's flag and trash talk the referees..ok the media actually. We love people who love our team and when it is over we still like the ones who supported the opponent once the dust settles. I love living in a swing state. There's so much energy and excitement. I get to see all the ads and I find some of them beautiful and inspiring (of course some are annoying and negative and played way too many times). Along the I-4 corridor here, there has been event after event these past couple weeks. It is like date night every day..."Want to go to the Trump rally tonight?"..."Let's go see Stevie Wonder & Obama at the stadium in town".. "Pence is in Daytona we could drive to the beach afterwards"... There is always something going on. Come Wednesday I'll be bored and missing all the excitement. It is like the build up of planning a wedding or a major vacation..then the let down afterwards with just your photos to look back through while you look forward to the next time. But that's just me.. You know, I really admire your perspective here. This is the first time I've been interested in following politics at all. I'd like to think that if this election was more typical I would enjoy the conversation more. I don't know much about the parties & processes and would like to learn more about them.

I wasn't talking about you at all. I was talking about people who wait until they get there to decide.

Although, if the lines are as large no as they say it might be, I'll have plenty of time to review my choices before I can proudly wear my sticker. 😁

I vote the same place I go to Zumba in the morning so I'm hoping the line is short so I can run in, vote then go to Zumba! In my town a lot of people mail in their ballots.
