What's your favorite dessert to bring for pot lucks? We have a cake baker on staff that always brings a yummy cake hats half white and half chocolate. I would like to add something yummy to the dessert table and looking for new ideas.

Chocolate Delight - very good and requires no baking. It always gets eaten up - no leftovers.

We had a party Saturday and someone made these little pastry cups with whip cream inside and a slice of strawberry. They were a hit and easy to make it seemed.

If it is a crowd of 20 or so my go to is trifle.
I make different recipes each time and everyone always comments on them and there are never leftovers.

allrecipes.com/recipe/7255/dirt-cake-i/Oreo dirt cake Make it in the flowerpot with silk flowers and gummy bears and serve it with the plastic trowel. Always a huge success especially once people realize it's part of the dessert table. I use heavy whipped cream instead of Cool Whip and it's so easy, no baking required.

My 'go to' is Pavlova. I have a recipe for the meringue which ends up crispy on the outside and marshmallowy inside. Top with heaps of whipped cream and whatever fruit is in season. There are kids at our Church who now ask if I am coming to any of the potluck dinners, and 'can you bring that dessert you do'

I've tried to make a pavlova and ended up with an inedible mess.

I ignore what is says about the fruit topping, and just use whatever I like!

Just for me and DH.

I love a good pavlova. I've never made one myself but my teen daughter makes awesome ones. She tests the stiffness of the mixture by holding the bowl upside down over her head LOL. The step about leaving it in the over until completely cooled is a really important one too. Make sure you show us your results This is the recipe that dd uses www.donnahay.com.au/recipes/pavlova

Peanut butter cookie dough pressed into mini muffin tin.
Bake until just underdone.
Press in the middle of dough with a spoon
Press in a peanut butter cup
These are absolutely to die for.

I like to make mini lemon meringue pies. I use a mini muffin pan so they are quite small. They are also very fiddly to make, so I'd only do it for special people! These are not mine, but an idea of what they look like:

Someone brought this eclair cake to my house for a Super Bowl party and I went nuts over it. She gave me the recipe and I was shocked because it's not the kind of thing I would think I'd like. But it is awesome! It definitely tastes better after it sits for a day or two, giving all the artificial ingredients time to blend, LOL. (My version calls for just microwaving a can of chocolate frosting and dumping it on top, easy peasy!)

Do you use the recipe for a regular pie or a special recipe? I use the same recipe that I use for my big LMP because it's (IMO) the best recipe. I end up with too much meringue but that's OK, I just eat it!
