Does anyone have this? How have you found it? I've just received an email from Amazon saying its now available in Australia. It seems too good to be true. Do you have access to all kindle books or is it restricted?

In the U.S. version you definitely don't have access to all Kindle books. I wasn't impressed enough with the selection to bother with it.

I had a feeling that would be the case. I can't look at what is available though until I sign up. I'll just give it a miss I think.

If you look at books, do you see the 'Kindle Unlimited' designation anywhere? When I was trying to decide, I searched for books or authors that I knew I liked, and not very many with the kindle unlimited designation came up ETA: are they offering a 30 day free trial? If so, you could give that a try and see what you think ETA2: I just put kindle unlimited in the search bar on Amazon and got a lot of books. Will that work on the Aussie site?

I think it's a great deal if: 1) you don't care about owning books 2) you don't reread books 3) you don't have to have he latest trendiest books 4) you like to experiment with new authors 5) you are willing to try new genres
I've saved a huge amount by using it. I started with thirty day free trial, and kept it.

I have found enough books to read that it was worth it to me. You typically won't find best sellers or newly released novels, but if you are willing to go outside your reading box, there are a surprising number of really good unknown authors and books out there. A bonus is if the book doesn't suit you, no feeling like you have wasted money purchasing it.
I do think your reading habits play into it also. If you tend to read only one book a month, then it likely is not worth it. That $10 could be spent on that one book. I read, on average two/three books a week and that can quickly add up and almost unsubstainable. My $10 a month for kindle unlimited is much more feasible for me.

I looked at that but wasn't impressed with the selection. I just use my library and check books out for free. I may have to wait a bit for the best sellers, I have learned that I can sign up for them before they are released - so as soon as I find out an author I like has a book coming out I go online and put it on hold.

I wasn't too impressed with the selection either, so it wasn't worth it to me. I joined the Philadelphia Free Library which wasn't free to me because I live in Texas, but it's only $50 a year. At the price of books these days, doesn't take long to get my money's worth out of it. I have to wait awhile for new books and best sellers, but I don't mind.
