East Coast voting is under way and it's heavier here than I ever remember. I wanted to upload my sticker but couldn't get it to work. I'll try it again.

Everyone in our house is about to head out to vote. We're hoping for lines that aren't too bad. We were in and out in 55 minutes-not too bad. I was happy to see that things were quiet and no Trump "poll watchers" in sight.

We have mail-in only, so no stickers for us.

I voted a couple weeks ago. We don't get stickers, which is the only thing about vote-by-mail that i don't like.

I haven't gone yet but dh went as soon as they opened and said there were about 25 people there (in a town of 2500) and they said it was the busiest they've ever seen.

DH & DD just went to vote and said the lines went quickly. I'll vote later this morning. He said there were no stickers which doesn't surprise me. In 25 years of voting in this district, I think I've gotten an "I Voted" sticker just one time.

I already voted early but did pick up a couple of extra stickers. I will wear a sticker when I go out to prayer group today and shopping.

I voted last week. I was lucky to have one of the towns that could go in and vote early. I heard we had 5,000 people vote early. Amazing considering we are a town of 17,500.

On the news this morning I learned about a long list of local businesses that will give you something for free if you come in wearing your "I voted" sticker. Including Krispy Kreme donuts! They make them not too far from me, so who knows...I might do that. There were a lot of food places on the list, and then Gold's Gym! hahaha Their line was "come for a free workout after you get your free donuts and tacos."

I voted early this morning; we were in line right after 6 am and took just under 45 minutes to get through the line and back out the door. Our sticker has "I Voted" across the middle and then "I made freedom count" around the top and bottom of the circle.

SaveSaveThere are a few states that are vote by mail only. Oregon is one (don't know where the pea you quoted is). No, there is no place to vote in person today (or any day). There are ballot drop boxes, though, if you didn't mail in time. Why is it this way? Beacuse we voted a long time ago to make it this way and Oregonians overwhelmingly love it. No worries about long lines or time away from work, high voter turnout, plenty if time to study the issues and complete your ballot thoughtfully, etc. It is a great system and especially when I see these insane lines, I'm baffled that more states don't adopt it.

Early in the thread and I already have sticker envy! I voted early and ours are boring ovals, generic.

Thanks. Yet one more of the many differences in the election process across the country that I've learned about here at the pod. Pennsylvania is still "everyone votes on election day unless you have a good reason, then you can have an absentee ballot." I'll be heading out soon. SaveSaveSaveSave

I'd show you, but I keep getting an error message trying to upload the photo. I even resized it to try to help.
You'll just have to take my word for it at this point. Lol.

I don't live in the US but am curious: in a mail in ballot system, how do they handle voter ID? When we go to the polls, we need to be identified somehow ( in our small community, that often means that one at least of the polling clerks knows us, but if they don't, they can ask for ID) and crossed off a list of eligible voters, before being given our ballot.

Ballots are mailed to your registered address. When you return them, you sign the secrecy envelope and that signature is verified against voter registration documents.
