Yeah.....I told my husband this evening, that when I got there and looked down at that ballot, I felt nauseous. There was some sniffling, too.....

I cried when I filled mine out last night. Not tears of joy, mind you. Tears of disappointment to have to choose who I thought wouldn't screw things up the worst, rather than who I thought would be best for the job.

I'm tired of having to try to pick the lesser of the evils instead of having highly qualified candidates to choose from.

Yep...I felt disgusted. Not at all satisfied with my vote.

My stomach dropped when I looked at the options. I've never felt so discouraged in an election. It was the feeling you get when you hear of an unexpected death. I wish I was exaggerating. I kept scanning the ballot thinking there has to be a better choice. I took solace in knowing there were state elections and amendments to vote for that made more of a difference.

Yep. For the first time ever, I did not vote a straight ticket. I just couldnt do it. A third party got my vote.

I'm lucky that my state always goes the same way so I was able to vote third party knowing it wouldn't change anything. But I could feel good about myself. I'm sorry so many only had the choice of the two major parties

I was and will forever be proud of my Clinton vote. The tears come now as I lose hope for this nation.

No, because I voted my conscience. I don't know what effect that has on the final results, but I don't feel sick about having to choose the "lesser of two evils".
I feel sad for my granddaughter though. She turned 18 in September and this is her first presidential election. She's been very active in following the candidates and is very aware of the issues. I just wish she had a better experience her first time out, so to speak.
I'm proud of her though. She sloughed through all the crap and voted for the candidate she felt represented her the best (not the two front runners).

I left my polling place feeling hopeful.
I'm not sure how to say this so I hope it makes sense: I realize a lot of people don't like Hillary. But, as an educated person, I believed that most people understand we're not voting for a dinner guest we're voting for POTUS. It's not a beauty pageant. Like her or not, Hillary is the most qualified candidate in a long time, if not ever. I truly believed that Americans would recognize that and coupled with how evil (there truly is no other word to use) Trump is, that we'd all be saying Congratulations Madame President today.
I knew it would be close. However I'm sitting here in shock and fear. The markets are already dropping. That people can listen to the unadulterated vileness that comes from that man and say yeah make him our leader literally makes no sense. Now I am in tears, knowing that so many people support hatred. I am in tears because I worked hard to become a citizen of this country and I feel duped. I truly thought Americans were better than this.

No. I left the polls thanking every worker who put in an extra sacrificial day of work (for very little pay) because they were the front line people working to make sure that the election was as free and fair as they could make it.
And glad I had a part in it even if it ended up disappointing to me, as it did. I was comfortable with the choice I made in the voting booth.
But what a terrible election. Can we do better next time, y'all?

I voted early, but the feeling I had when I looked at the ballot and the reality of the poor options struck me. I shook my head and felt so nauseated. I really didn't want to choose either candidate, but I did.
Although the choices were poor, I am proud to see how many people voted and I think the outcome will make a lot of people realize that everyone's vote does count.

Yes. I left with the feelings of desperation and a expletive filling my mind.
A few weeks ago my youngest son who is 7 brought up the election and the conversation went like this:
S: So we are going to have a new president?
Mom: Yes, it is an election year and it will be coming up next month.
S: Who are you going to vote for?
Mom: Long pause. I don't know.
S: Well which one is the best???
Mom: I don't feel good about either of them.
S: Why?
Mom: They are people just like us who make mistakes but I wouldn't want either of them to be our president.
S: Well who decided they get to be?
Mom: The people did....the people who live in the United States.
S: Why did we do that? Why did we make bad choices with something that is so important? That is stupid.
Mom: Good question.

While I was not happy with my choices on the ballot, I was not sad because I had just spent an hour reading very positive and kind messages from people all over the country on FB. I was at peace because i know we are a nation of kind caring people and whatever the outcome we would still be that.

I'm glad you are thinking in the positive and wish more people could feel and think this way When people talk about how horrible this election was, what bad choices we had, etc, I truly hope we can do a better job next time. I feel both sides caused this and I hope they both take a closer look at themselves and the other side.
