Anyone else?
Of course I'm going to be at work tomorrow. How am I to explain to a class of immigrant children that what just happened will represent or help them?
Devastated.
I'm hoping beyond hope that when I wake tomorrow things will be different.

I'm with you. The school I work in is a newcomer/refugee center with kids from all over the world. They have been terrified for months (as seen in their drawings and writings) of what will happen if Trump were to be elected president. I don't even know what to say to them- what a message has been sent to them! Devastated also.

I'll carry on as usual. I'm worried about my daughter with Autism. She's been terrified of Trump since he won the nomination. My kid who struggles with social skills can see his true colors.

I already told one of my supervisors that I will not be in tomorrow because I will be home smoking pot for the first time ever in my life since it's legal now. and trying to forget that Trump will most likely win.

I'm with you. I'm wondering how I will face my daughters tomorrow, with a president who thinks it's okay to "grab 'em by the pussy."

It is almost 2. I need to be up in 5 hours. I am literally sick over this. I can't sleep...my stomach is in knots. I will for certain go into a depression sleep and not want to wake in the morning and I know I will cry when I venture out of the house next...I have managed to keep it together so far, but I am struggling. I am almost certain that I am not sending my son to school. We shall see if/when I wake up how I feel in the morning. I am so devastated. This election hurts my soul.

Oh my god. I am so happy to come here and see this. I am SICK. Just literally (quite literally) sick. I cannot believe that this has happened. I have been disappointed in elections before, but I never ever thought it would come to this.
I have to go to work tomorrow (in 2 hours!) because I am in a class. The people in the class are all staunch idiots. I do not know that I can sit through that.
What do I say? I am serious! What do I say when people say they are happy? Can I say "You are a freaking MORON if you think this is good news? YOu are a complete uneducated IDIOT!" Can I say that?
I do not want to go to work either.

I was planning to take tomorrow as a paperwork dah but ended up not working out that way. I really wish I had stuck To my original plan. Especially since I haven't gotten much sleep.

I'm working from home today. I'd rather be at work, among people who all feel the same way.
Hoping that my 16 year old dd with expensive medical conditions will be able to have good health insurance in a few years.
Fuck.

I decided to go into work rather than work from home ... but I'm just numb. I can't concentrate.

For the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country. An America filled with hatred is not the America I thought I lived in. I have never feared a presidential candidate before this year.

You all have my sympathy. This is terrible. When I married DH, who is American, we chose to live in Canada. I am so happy we made that choice.

I, too, am physically sick. I am also disappointed in my fellow Americans. I am just crushed. My father gave his life in service to this country and he would be absolutely appalled that this apricot hellbeast is going to be president. I was raised to always respect the office, and I will, but the words "trump" and "president" will NEVER be uttered together by me. NEVER.
He is a demagogue and I am truly frightened. I have LGBTQ family members. I have family and close friends that rely on the advances Obamacare made to our healthcare system. I have a son of draftable age.
Welcome to Germany 1933.

No sleep for me. At work now and then have to coach my little Girls On The Run this afternoon and then volunteer at my local theater tonight. I may have to mainline caffeine today and eat ALL the chocolate to survive.

We don't know what is going to happen, we only know what he has said, but we don't know what the next four years will bring. To speculate could just cause fear. Be strong for you students so that they don't feed off of your fear.

I didn't watch any election coverage last night at all... I just felt 'wrong' about the whole thing yesterday, and went to bed pretty much right after I got home from work yesterday. This morning, I turned on the PBS station just to see what happened, and was stunned to see the results. I do feel physically ill-- I'm at work now, but I don't think I'll be able to do very much productive. I honestly thought we as a country do what I thought was the right thing, and I was very much looking forward to having the most qualified candidate in office. Now, I'm not sure what to do, except I know I'll probably be calling our financial advisor sometime soon. (so much for the nice gain my IRA had last quarter...)

My (gay) owners closed our offices today. They are devastated to what this means for them, and rightfully so.
My other friends who are LBGTQ were up all night and totally numb today.
My heart is crushed.

I'm sad. I thought we were a better country than this. To elect a self admitted sexual predator, bigot, racist, xenophob as president makes me ashamed of our country. Makes me ashamed of the women who gave their tacit approval of his sexual assaults by voting for him. There is nothing in HRC's history that outweighs his sexual assaults, nothing.

I wanted to, but couldn't because I'm the supervisor. Otherwise I would have been home sobbing in my bed.
As it is I'm in my office with the door closed limiting my contact with a huge contingent of my coworkers who voted for Trump.

a months of putting things off, a client called up with a sense of urgency to finish her paperwork because "did you hear? Trump won last night.". I assured her there was nothing to worry about. it's life as usual but yes, please come and finish your paperwork for her sake and not because she's scared about what happened last night.

I am an immigrant and I do not fear for my place/position in this country. I am a woman and I do not fear for my place/position in this country. I have a daughter and I do not fear for her.
Had Hilary won I wouldn't of feared for us either.
I said on another thread I really couldn't vote for either of them so I didn't. I did vote republican in all other areas I was to vote for on our ballot last night.
The main reason I couldn't vote for Hilary had nothing to do with her being a woman. It had everything to do with the Affordable Health Care Act and how much that has destroyed the working/middle class in my area. I couldn't/wouldn't vote in the democratic party. I work with people on disability and state insurance. Pay nothing out of pocket and they have way better coverage then my family does. My husband works 60 hours a week and our insurance is so expensive one job is just to pay for that, plus it's only 80% coverage and that's after a 3,000 dollar deductible. Affordable my ass. I would assume there is little the republicans or an independent can do at this point to fix the mess this health care act caused but I will certainly not reward the democrats for creating it.
