Yes. If I had the option, I would go.

Given the state of the country right now, yes, I'd leave if I had the option.

No. I still think it's the best place on earth to live.
Frankly, to those who do leave, good riddance.

If I thought it'd be as easy as just packing up and moving...yes.

My husband's employment history has no need there. We have discussed moving there for years and honestly, yes I would. I cannot fathom the pain I am going to feel looking at my mixed race family tomorrow knowing that the next potus sees us as part of the problem in this country. I will avoid the news for the next 4 years and I can tell you it has lit a fire for political activism in me. I will not miss another election and depending on how things go, I am strongly considering volunteering for the next democratic campaign. As the person who whines nonstop about door knockers and phone calls, that says about how personally I take this. I could deal with a traditional Republican president, but not that waste of skin.

I am originally from Belgium. I married an American. We live in the US. Not long before the last election I earned my US citizenship.
If this turns out the way it's looking, yes. I'm no longer able to work due to my cancer. My husband can take a lateral transfer in his company. My sister and her husband feel the same.
Neither my husband (a 22 year Navy veteran) nor I can see living in a place that champions hatred/homophobia/misogyny or any of the many many other disgusting vile things this man stands for. We both thought Americans were better than this. The markets are already dropping.....
Yeah we'll go.

Nope. Not at all. But then, I voted for him based on his position on the issues that are important to me and wasn't distracted by all of the "outrage" by the left about every word he said.

He's a wonderful example to all the young males isn't he? Grab that p***y boys, if The Donald can do it , why not you? Lord help him if he tried to grab any part of our Prime minister's anatomy !!!
He says he is there for 'ordinary ' Americans yet lives in outlandish luxury just like many politicians do.
I realised early on last night he was going to win: one of the nicest peas who is on my Facebook feed, one of the kindest people with a loving heart- said she had held her nose and voted Trump. At that point I realised that many too ashamed to say out loud ( and I'm not including her in this ) had kept quiet but voted for him anyway .
Many people said they didn't want a politician to run the country anymore . Makes no sense to me- are you going to go to the local newsagent now when you need surgery ? No- you'll go the most experienced doctor you can find in that field .
If he carries though and defaults on loans your reputations will be in the gutter . Let's hope the many decent republicans in the party can reign him in!

Clearly there is still work to be done, so no. Also Canada is cold. And expensive. My husband would rather go to Belize.
But ugh.

My son's father is Canadian, and lives in Canada. If things get bad enough, yes I will send him to live with his dad is possible. (not sure how that works though)
I'm hoping things don't get that bad. I'm weeping for our country right now.

Mexico has some beautiful expat towns, and I hear they're building a wall to keep Trump out ...

No. But not because the appeal isn't there. I won't because it is not financially feasible. Nor is it feasible to convince all members of my family to join me. And it isn't as easy as packing up and moving. It is involved and costly.

Every election there are those who announce that they'll leave this country if their candidate doesn't win. They never do. I never understand those announcements.

Better climate, better tacos. Yes, there are dangerous areas but still a lot of safe ones too. I already speak some Spanish, albeit with a hilarious Southern accent that native Spanish speakers seem to find endearing. Canada...no. I don't do snow, although I do like that "eh" thing. It's cute. No moving on account of politics though...I'd just do it because I feel like it.

We chose to live in Canada when DH (an American) and I got married. So very happy we made that decision, as yes, if we had decided to live in the U.S., I would be moving back to Canada.

Just curious - those who say they would not move to Canada because it is too cold and all that snow. You are joking right? You don't really think we are cold and snowy all the time do you?
There are many American states that are colder, get less sunshine and way more snow then Canada.
I totally get not moving because it is expensive to move, you would be far away from family, you have a good job where you are. Etc, etc.

It was 20C (close to 70F) yesterday. I live 10 minutes from the Canada/US Washington state border, we get the same weather they do. We generally get very little snow here, I think it snowed once last winter, and stayed for 1 day. I was wondering the same thing.

Oh, yes, I would. But I've been wanting to move even before the election got heated. If I thought there was a way for us, I'd give it a try.

I am already gone, but this is my catalyst to stay gone. I can deal with living in a crazy country with messed up politics that isn't "mine"...because it's not mine. I can't deal with it being my beloved USA. This is what the majority of Americans apparently wants, so? Where is my place? My childrens place? Not there.

I've heard no such thing from him. granted, I've mostly refused to listen to him until this past month or so ... but I did hear him by accident a number of times prior to that. (clip reruns)
I have a mixed family too and have no concerns about it. unless of course, part of yours are here illegally. Still, it doesn't mean he's going to go door to door yanking people out - as the dems have said. the dems have done a lot of nasty untrue bashing.
